"The staff was excellent, and the wine and whiskey were quite good. However, the food was just average. I started with the pigeon; the menu mentioned breast and wing, so I expected one of each, but I received four wings that were tough and had so little meat that they wouldn’t have satisfied a pigeon, especially for £14. On the plus side, the black pudding was enjoyable. The main courses were alright, but nothing worth raving about."

"The guy who delivered pizza told me quite happily not in a good way) I could have saved money £8) by going there directly. It was totally unprofessional, and the way he said it put me off. Why would you say something like that? So, beware if you order from this place online. You are getting overcharged for bad quality food. To make it even worse, the pizza was undercooked; the tomato base was chunky and wet."

"Been twice now since they introduced their separate vegan menu and both times were so tasty! Tried the Mac and cheese and the BBQ pulled jackfruit fajitas! They have a sorbet as dessert currently but the staff said they are working on introducing other dessert options! "I've visited this place several times over the years, and as a Sardinian, it brings me immense joy to find my favorite beer from back home available. I relish pairing it with loaded cheese chips and ricotta croquettes. The focaccia was also a delight, delicious and wonderfully crunchy! "After a visit to the cinema with friends i decided to choose The Hudson for a late Sunday lunch. The reasons for doing so were twofold. One the last time we were there was pre pandemic and the other one of our party is vegetarian...and the menu on line gave a couple of choices which is much better than some places. On arrival we were given a choice of tables and whilst choosing drinks and food we were offered and accepted a jug of tap water. We choose our drinks which were delivered quickly and the food order was taken by a very friendly and bubbly waitress who helped to make the experience really fun. The portions were very generous and the vegetables very fresh and cooked to perfection. Apparently the vegetarian Thai curry was also very tasty. We would have loved a desert but were all full so we took a break before finishing with another drink. Overall the experience was really good and the staff were all very friendly and engaging. The place is very well appointed and quiet allowing you to have and hear conversations you have at the table, Worth a visit."

"We came to the restaurant to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and try American cuisine. I was especially excited to try the food from the smoker, and the beef brisket did not disappoint. "This used to be a great place but after the other day, I can only put it down to 2 things. The health inspector was in putting the staff off or the staff completely screwed up both pizzas. I ordered a hot one and I’ve no idea what I got. No chillis just olives and mushrooms and bits of what I think was spicy beef. My wife’s was not what she ordered either. At least the onion rings were correct. The pizza base also seemed chewy in the sense it was rubbery. Not good."

"Arrive for a drink at 11:15 a.m. Friendly staff, warm atmosphere. We decided to change tables and eat. Impeccable service, we don't speak English but we all made an effort. It was great. "It was disappointing that the otherwise delicious vegan chickpea burger could only be served in a brioche bun that contained both eggs and milk, which meant I couldn't have the sandwich. As a result, I paid the same price for just one burger, without any additional salad and no alternative bread option offered. The waitress mentioned a different type of bread roll, but didn't seem very enthusiastic about me trying it, so I decided to go without. Overall, I found my meal to be pleasant but not particularly great. The other dishes at the restaurant were good, but as a vegan, I felt like I was missing out once again. It would be nice to see more vegan options that cater to different dietary needs."

"The food was excellent and the drinks were generous in size, but unfortunately, the service was terrible. Our group of 25 people had 3 tables that were adequate for us to sit at and chat, but we were not allowed to move or switch seats, which was inconvenient. Guests who arrived late were not allowed to join us at our tables and were instead sent to the bar area, which we found unacceptable. We were also told that the bill would be split evenly among the tables, but later discovered that food from one table had been added to another table's bill, causing confusion during payment. The staff spoke rudely to some of our guests when they tried to join full tables, instructing them to sit at an empty table instead. This experience left us feeling uncomfortable and disrespected, and we will not be returning to this restaurant in the future."

"Came here for a Sunday roast. Overall we enjoyed our meal here. £20 for two courses was much better value than most places. The starters we ordered arancini and calamari were tasty and well sized. We ordered the beef and pork roasts. Serving size was very good. Lots to enjoy on the plate. The beef was very good, had a delicious taste and cooked just right. The trimmings were all cooked well, although would have preferred the potatoes more crispy. Gravy was a bit thin too. Cauliflower cheese was delicious, very rich and cheesy. The Yorkshire puddings also very well done. Service was good. Atmosphere somewhat lacking due to a very quiet day. But it didn’t take anything from the experience. Happy to recommend and we will be returning."

"The food and drinks at this restaurant were great, but the service was terrible. Our party of 25 people had 3 tables, which we understood, but we were not allowed to move or swap seats to talk to each other. Guests who arrived late were not allowed to sit with us and were sent downstairs to the bar area, which we found unacceptable. We were told each table would receive a separate bill, but then one table's food was added to another, making payment more difficult. The person in charge spoke rudely to our guests when they tried to switch tables, and ultimately combined two tables' bills despite telling us not to swap. We will not be returning to this restaurant due to the uncomfortable experience and rude treatment we received."

"a nice stylish restaurant/bar. came with family to celebrate my son 18th birthday. the family loves the place as the decor was beautiful and it was very up market, stylish and modern. the menu was very simple and was not overly finished, which helped to eat during the choice. yes, the prices were high on some items, but when they visit a special place to special occasions like their son 18 pay their worth that little extra to quality at a beautiful place we did. eating and drinking was beautiful and beautifully presented, children enjoyed their eating and enjoyed his birthday desert. decor was very modern and the restaurant had a nightclub variety, although there was no dancing area. the customer service was great and the staff was friendly. the parking space was on the side of the restaurant so that free parking is available. a problem is the accounting system in which we wanted a table for 8 but the accounting system said that no tables were free, but actually there were areas that we could have accommodated instead of our table for 6. if my little one likes a place, it must be something special. I'm sure it'll be back."

"Were not greeted when we entered, even though someone was behind bar. He didn’t even look at us We Asked about food were told to take any 2 seat table. Not offered menus so got them ourselves, then waitress came over gave us correct menus. Ordered food wine, waitress was very polite friendly. Food came but Steak was very chewy No atmosphere, saw no one else eating, another 2 couples drinking. We were offered sweet menu, were going to ordered but were told at 9pm coffee machine was off so no coffee available. I say told but really we were grunted at! so didn’t have sweet as we wanted it with coffee, not much to expect after eating a meal! Overall very disappointing anniversary dinner. The place was very quiet. Maybe train your staff to be a bit more friendly after all it is the service industry you work in people just expect when spending hard earned cash, a pleasant evening out with a nice meal a friendly welcome. Unfortunately we got none of the above! So Will not return! You would have thought in today’s financial situation these places would be crying out for local support but when you get treated like they can’t be bothered to serve you then they don’t deserve our custom."
