"Located on the A350, this pub boasts a great location with a spacious car park and ample seating inside. The staff are friendly and attentive. However, we were disappointed with the food we ordered. My wife's mac n cheese was small, cold, and lacking in flavor. My club sandwich was served cold, with barely cooked bacon. Overall, we were unsatisfied with our experience and will not be returning."

Stopped by after a day out at Slimbridge on our way back home. Waitress very attentive, polite and efficient. Food was good, would call in again if passing.

The restaurant provides excellent and prompt service with a very friendly staff. The menu has a wide range of options to choose from and there is plenty of seating. I would definitely return.

Service was slow, menus took ages to be brought out, didn’t clear glasses etc. Food was rubbish. Mushy veg, tasteless roasties, flat Yorkshire pudding, and veggie roast was way too salty. Won’t go again. View menu

Very mixed experience. Failed to get the basics right. The side salad, which the waitress referred to as wilted, was more slimy it was so past its best. No discount given The mini sticky toffee pudding and coffee was just amazing. A fresh bag of salad and this would have been 5 stars

The restaurant was busy and had a lovely, lively ambiance with lots of families enjoying dining together and each other's company, without any loud background music. Our food was freshly made, of great quality, and I'd like to give a shoutout to the service provided by the waitress who served us.

I had a mixed experience at this restaurant. While the service was good and the appetizers were delicious, the main dishes left something to be desired. The fries were undercooked and the steak sauce was cold, which didn't quite fit with the rest of the meal. It's been a while since I last visited, and it may be some time before I come back. A group of friends met up for dinner at the Milk Churn, located near the Travelodge, where some of us stayed overnight. The pub staff were excellent, attentive, and efficient. The food, despite being from a chain pub, was outstanding with no complaints from the group of eighteen. Overall, it was a highly enjoyable experience that I would highly recommend.

"We've often eaten here and had excellent food and service. Until this week. We booked for lunch and our waitress organised drinks very promptly before taking our order. I asked for scampi with a salad, avoiding chips and we also asked for garlic bread to share. When our food arrived, I had scampi and chips with a bowl of salad and no sign of the garlic bread. The waitress suddenly realised I hadn't ordered chips but I said that was OK as my husband would eat them. Despite reminding her about the garlic bread, it never arrived. Our waitress was quiet and efficient, and busy with new arrivals as the restaurant began to fill. We eventually decided it was pointless asking about the garlic bread and finished the meal with tiramisu. The bill duly arrived and in the absence of garlic bread, she offered to take off the service charge. We decided, as the majority of the meal had been fine, to ask for only half of it to be deducted. I think my main problem was with the manager. Although he was there, he didn't deal with any of this problem. He seemed to be fine with going around the tables and chatting to regular customers, but in the matter of the missing garlic bread and the chips I had not ordered, he left the waitress to deal with the problem and didn't even look at us when we left. In many places we have eaten, the manager will normally speak to customers and not leave his staff to face an unhappy diner. Popular eateries don't only rely on their food, their service is just as important, and unfortunately it felt as if no one really cared. Sadly we've eaten our last meal there and won't be coming back."

"This is a lovely venue in the beautiful countryside of Wiltshire. We were warmly greeted by the staff, as we came in, and the great service carried on throughout the evening. We were seated at a slightly odd table in a corner, perfectly adequate, I just felt a bit in the way. Menus were handed out, although I'd looked online and set my heart on delights already, and we had a couple of drinks to get started. We went for a sharing arrangement for our starters and had the crispy pickled root veg, the bread and pistachio butter alongside the trout rillettes. The bread and butter were lovely, different combination that worked well. The pickled veg were nice, but some you needed your good teeth for whilst others were very soft. I'm told, as I'm not a fishy person, that the trout rillette was divine. Main course arrived and as usual I went for haddock and chips. I know this contradicts my previous paragraph but everything is better deep fried in batter! The Mr went for the spicy bean burger, which looked fabulous. A couple of niggles would be that the burger was very squishy for a bean burger, it kept trying to escape from the bun. I usually order fish and chips as it's a great way to compare how different chefs manage with batter. The chips were thick, chunky and crispy as anything. The tartare sauce was really good, as were the crushed peas sounds daft but they tasted of peas, not making them like other places where they add god knows what to them! My niggle was that halfway through the fish which was beautifully cooked and moist the batter went a bit stodgy and lost its crispiness. It's a small thing, not really worth mentioning on the night as everything else was top notch. Dessert arrived, as it always seems too... I had the pumpkin spiced set custard which was a delight to look at, as well as eat. The custard was smooth and not over spiced, and it came with filo shards and the lightest meringue I've ever eaten. The Mr had the cheescake which was a concoction of blond chocolate and mascarpone. It also comes with Horlicks ice cream which I tried and can safely say it was yummy. It wasn't a cheap night out, but overall it was worth the money. Next time I'd like to sit by the fire in the little dining room, not in a hallway. Please take yourself there and enjoy."
