"Located on the A350, this pub boasts a great location with a spacious car park and ample seating inside. The staff are friendly and attentive. However, we were disappointed with the food we ordered. My wife's mac n cheese was small, cold, and lacking in flavor. My club sandwich was served cold, with barely cooked bacon. Overall, we were unsatisfied with our experience and will not be returning."

"The food was excellent and the drinks were generous in size, but unfortunately, the service was terrible. Our group of 25 people had 3 tables that were adequate for us to sit at and chat, but we were not allowed to move or switch seats, which was inconvenient. Guests who arrived late were not allowed to join us at our tables and were instead sent to the bar area, which we found unacceptable. We were also told that the bill would be split evenly among the tables, but later discovered that food from one table had been added to another table's bill, causing confusion during payment. The staff spoke rudely to some of our guests when they tried to join full tables, instructing them to sit at an empty table instead. This experience left us feeling uncomfortable and disrespected, and we will not be returning to this restaurant in the future."

"It was disappointing that the otherwise delicious vegan chickpea burger could only be served in a brioche bun that contained both eggs and milk, which meant I couldn't have the sandwich. As a result, I paid the same price for just one burger, without any additional salad and no alternative bread option offered. The waitress mentioned a different type of bread roll, but didn't seem very enthusiastic about me trying it, so I decided to go without. Overall, I found my meal to be pleasant but not particularly great. The other dishes at the restaurant were good, but as a vegan, I felt like I was missing out once again. It would be nice to see more vegan options that cater to different dietary needs."

"Were not greeted when we entered, even though someone was behind bar. He didn’t even look at us We Asked about food were told to take any 2 seat table. Not offered menus so got them ourselves, then waitress came over gave us correct menus. Ordered food wine, waitress was very polite friendly. Food came but Steak was very chewy No atmosphere, saw no one else eating, another 2 couples drinking. We were offered sweet menu, were going to ordered but were told at 9pm coffee machine was off so no coffee available. I say told but really we were grunted at! so didn’t have sweet as we wanted it with coffee, not much to expect after eating a meal! Overall very disappointing anniversary dinner. The place was very quiet. Maybe train your staff to be a bit more friendly after all it is the service industry you work in people just expect when spending hard earned cash, a pleasant evening out with a nice meal a friendly welcome. Unfortunately we got none of the above! So Will not return! You would have thought in today’s financial situation these places would be crying out for local support but when you get treated like they can’t be bothered to serve you then they don’t deserve our custom."

"We were in the area so popped on for dinner 4th April. I'd like to congratulate thd Management for a nice, clean and welcoming pub. Outside there's a large carpark and tables to the side. Inside, you'll find different areas to sit; elevated tables with high stools, snugs (one with club chairs) and more formal dining tables all nicely laid waiting for diners. We were pleasantly surprised to find all burgers at £9.95 on Wednesdays, so I had one. Yum. My Wife had the chilli which was very good as well, although the rice could've been warmer. The beer's good, the wine choice good, the food's good. Our waitress, Katie was warm friendly. I can't eat nuts and mentioned this on my booking. The staff went out of their way to help which isn't always the case so I was impressed. Highly recommended. A great pub."

However, in portions were good, dishes well presented on hot plates. "Lovely decor, good service from our young waiter. The food was delicious, though there was one negative that took away a 5 star experience. We ordered from the record menu, 3 dishes each. We both received 2 dishes, with a wait of about 10 minutes for both souvlaki. On the plus side, my friend got a free Greek coffee as she hasn't had it before. Definitely worth a visit though"

"Booked a pod especially for a surprise birthday celebration after looking at the lovely pictures on the website. It was an hours drive away as half way point between us and other guests. Management suggested on arrival if we got too hot we could sit elsewhere but as it was cloudy we thought we would be okay....urm, no, it was like sitting in a greenhouse, but as we traveled for this, we toughed it out. They need to have a weather temp recommendation when booking. When I saw the pod I was bitterly disappointed at the rickety furniture, decor and overall cleanliness. Pod looked like it needed a good scrub. Had to wipe down the table as looked like hadn't been cleaned in a while, even though staff assured me it had been done twice before arrival. Table was pealing terribly and had dirty sheepskin throws on the chairs. I love shabby chic but this was more shabby than chic. Sitting on large, dusty, gravel, it was not great. Staff were polight and helpful but clueless. Handing out the wrong dish, missing some food off a plate and arrived cold, however it did taste okay but way over priced and definitely not worth the money. Wished we eat in the restaurant as it looked nicer. Pods may work in the dark as you wouldn't see the failings but still looked very amateur for the cost. I dined in a pod locally to me last year and it was sooo much better for a fraction of the cost. I Wouldn't recommend this for special occasions."

"Looked like a lovely pub with ample parking, inside very very dark to the point multiple people using their iPhone light to read the menu (note how dark my photos are). Food really not that great and very small portions considering the prices. The staff were overall friendly but quite short and sharp and not overly happy or welcoming unfortunately."

"My husband and I dine here often, but after dining there last night. I don't think we will be back. We had a booking for 7.45pm and we arrived a little early. Our table wasn't ready, so we were moved to another table that was close to the doors to the terrace... it wasn't the warmest of places to sit people, especially when that door was constantly in motion. When we ordered our food, we were told that you had no roasts left... so we ordered the salmon and the duck... after a short while, the waitress told us that the kitchen had also run out of those!! We settled for cheese burger and fish and chips in the end, as this was pretty much our only choice left on the Sunday menu! However, when it arrived, the fish was really greasy, the chips inedible as they looked like they'd been cooked in dirty fat and for far too long, and the burger was really dry. It's a real shame. We don't usually mind paying a bit more as the food there has always been lovely, but we paid £66 for 2 meals, and we didn't eat most of the main. The only good thing about it was the larder plate, which we shared as a starter. I wish I'd taken photos of the food to show how bad it was. We left not long after our food arrived. When I paid for the bill at the bar. I wasn't asked if everything was OK with the food. Otherwise, I might have had this conversation with the staff. My only advice to tourists is to try other places. The Quay Inn does quality food and for a reasonable price. You can always find space to sit and eat or just have a drink. It's the lure of the quay that makes the Granary so busy!"

"My friend and I met there for a light lunch. I arrived before my friend and was shown to my table quickly. I liked the fact I was asked if I wanted any water on the table and which sort I preferred. Although we booked just two hours in advance and arrived a bit late, we were greeted with warmth and appreciation. The service, ambiance, and overall mood—including the lighting and music—were all perfectly matched to create a lovely experience. I would strongly recommend a visit here. The only area for improvement was the slightly bland lamb dish, which was noted by two members of our group. While the dish was beautifully presented and the meat itself was fantastic, the sauce didn't quite deliver the flavor we had hoped for. I believe that with just a small adjustment, it could elevate the dish significantly."

"Just had to take the time to write a quick review about the yew tree, we arranged to meet some friends for an annual post Christmas get together, 15 of us in total a mix of couples and small children, we spent a few hours locally and I’d booked a table the day previously, on arrival we we’re greeted and shown though to our own private dining area! Perfect! We spent 3 hours there in total, food, drinks and deserts. No issues, all food arrived hot and together, we had a wonderful afternoon and felt really happy and comfortable whilst there. "Absolutely my favourite place to eat out in Brighton. I love Greek food and this little gem of a place doesn't disappoint. Run by two brothers who are actually Greek, there is an authenticity to this restaurant that you just don't get in a lot of other places. I have eaten at adelfia on several occasions now and every time has been fantastic. As someone with allergies to gluten, eggs and dairy it's great to be able to go somewhere and still have choice. Dre, who runs the front of house, and yani, who runs the kitchen, communicate so well with each other to ensure that I always have a fantastic meal with nothing in it that will cause me problems On top of this, the place is spotless, the atmosphere is amazing and all the staff are super friendly and polite. There's really nothing not to love. If you get a chance to try this place, do. You won't be disappointed!"
