"Orso exceeded our expectations with its intimate atmosphere, making it the perfect spot for a romantic pre-theatre meal. Fortunately, our group had decreased in size to just."

"Our visit didn’t start out so well as we struggled to find the entrance! Some better signage would be good, especially as the doors aren’t marked and look more like a goods entrance! We were seated right opposite one set of doors and since they were automated we were blasted with cold air for a while each time someone came in or left. We thought it wasn’t worth asking to move since it was busy and now where better to put us, and that things would settle once the lunch covers were all in, but then people started cutting through to use the restaurant as a short cut to get into the hotel! This just spoiled the ambience for us as we were cold and ended up watching the door. The staff were however lovely and the food and drinks great. I realised afterwards that my main was listed on the menu (in its title) as having walnuts with it, but I didn’t get any with my dish so that was a shame (I’d have mentioned if I’d realised at the time). The Jerusalem artichoke soup, ricotta and truffle ravioli, and olive oil martini were our highlights, and we’d recommend."

"The wait to place our order was quite long, and it took even longer for our food to arrive. We ordered a shared starter, which came along with the two main courses. After we paid and were about to leave the restaurant, staff approached us to see if we wanted to charge the meal to our room card—this felt quite intrusive. To add to our disappointment, a service fee of £7.50 was added automatically to our bill. On a positive note, the food was good, and the staff were friendly and humble."

"It seems we chose a quiet night to dine there, being midweek, but the restaurant still had a nice atmosphere. Menu choice was ample and the food was very enjoyable seafood linguine and chicken saltimbocca as our main courses. But what made the evening most enjoyable was Joanne, the waitress who was absolutely charming and could not do enough to please us despite her serving every single table in the restaurant that evening. What a delight she is, and hopefully a much treasured and appreciated member of Carluccio’s Chester team."

"Went here for the first time recently, absolutely love how customisable and affordable everything is. The vegan cheese isn’t the best and sort of gets lost at times, but you still get a nice creamy taste. The vegan fried chicken is good too. Would like to try the blondie but it looks a lot smaller on the counter than I was expecting. Would recommend booking aheadand ask for the vegan menu."

"First visit to Urbano today and we weren't disappointed. Although it was very busy, we were greated by a very friendly member of staff and shown to a table. We only wanted drinks and were offered cocktail suggestions, one of which we chose it was so good, we ordered a second one each. Service was quick, staff were all smiling and friendly. We will definitely return for food next time we are in Chester."

"calabrisella is not much of a looker. with its brick-effect wallpaper, budget furniture and handy paper bits that are pulverized over their windows, they can easily confuse this cantonese Italian esserei for a greasy spoon cafe and give it a failure. but if they did, then they would get rid of some of the best Italian food in cardiff. while pizzas are the appetizer of the house, breakfast, sandwiches, pastas and other daily specialties on the menu – there were two types of calamari and a steak in the night we visited. at the beginning a hepper made of a golden crumb arancino £2) with perfectly cooked risotto each corn still clear,) uzy cheese and fleshy bolognese. a couple of beers – a peroni red £2.50) and a Ichnusa £2.50) – brought remembrances to celebrate in italien. the pizzas were stunning, each consisting of a golden crust and a millimeter thin floor with perky tomatensauce and melted mozzarella. they were also the size of a car tire. for woman g, a roma £8.50) with tender chicken, mushrooms and funky, creamig gorgonzola. for me, a calabrisella £10.90) with opaque, fiery nduja sausage and sun-dried tomato with a pleasant bite."

"amazing crepes with a large selection of toppings to choose from. I had the Belgian chocolate chips with fresh strawberries together with a puppenpult made of whipped cream and vanille ice cream. absolutely loved everything on my teller, but I think there should have been a bigger scoop of ice cream to compensate for the enough of the crepes."

"Very poor service, lack of cleanliness of the place, our table was really dirty and there was not intention to keep it clean for customers. I was disappointed this time. We wanted to celebrate with my family an special occasion, sadly either the staff was tired or they didn’t make an effort to even take an order from my teenager nephew and he was ignored. It’s not difficult to make people feel welcome to a place where we come often, at least before this experience. What a pity to have a good product but to loose customers because of staff attitude and lack of cleanliness."

"We ordered the Beetroot Carpaccio with feta, spinach, and walnuts, and requested it as a main course, which was accommodated without any issues. However, we were disappointed with the dish when it arrived at our table. It was lacking in flavor and had grated carrot, which was not listed on the menu. The feta and walnuts were barely noticeable, and the dish seemed to be mostly comprised of spinach, beetroot, and carrot - possibly cheaper ingredients. We were expecting chunks of feta and walnuts to add some more depth to the dish, but unfortunately, it fell flat and was underwhelming. My own dish was good, but it was missing sautéed potatoes. Overall, the experience was dampened by the disappointing dish. Additionally, we were charged for a small bottle of water, while other diners received a complimentary jug. It was our first time at the restaurant, so maybe we were just unlucky that night. On a positive note, the staff were fantastic, and the restaurant had a beautiful layout."

"Not had the pleasure of having a sit down meal in here yet but when I can I always try to pop in for a latte and a ciabatta to take away. The coffee is always of excellent quality and the ciabatta is (particularly the number 3), fresh and hot everytime. The staff are always polite and attentive and everything is very reasonably priced. Can't recommend it enough 10/10. Service: Take out"

"we were several times in the napolita in the course of the years and had almost every time different experiences – mostly good, but not consistent. Overall, eating is very good and the menu is cleverly designed. the kitchen is definitiw of high quality. at our recent visit there were two people who served. the one who delivered our food was extremely friendly and went out of her to make sure we would enjoy our meal. the other who took the order and brought the bill was uninterested and certainly not friendly. she made a strange commentary with cash to pay, as well as she took the sign with the payment and a 10% money. and what? we may never know."

"I dined on the terrace for the first time since the change of ownership, and I was thoroughly impressed. The food was top-notch—the mixed grill, wild fish and chips, and Cajun chicken burgers were all exceptional. We eat out a few times a month, and I can confidently say this was the best meal we've had in years!"

"The food at this restaurant is excellent, especially the bruschetta starter which was fresh and full of flavor with perfect texture. All the dishes we tried were outstanding, but the standout was the half chicken with dips. While not the cheapest option, the quality of the food makes it reasonable value for money. However, our experience was marred by poor service - despite multiple attempts to get the attention of waitstaff, it took four of them to finally bring us a glass of house red during our main course. In contrast, the gentleman next to us received his glass of water within 30 seconds. This made us feel like second-rate customers and unfortunately, it overshadowed the excellent food. While we commend the chef, it's a shame that their hard work is let down by others. Despite this, our experience may not be typical and so I have left a rating of 4 stars."

"We have been to cotes many times 9 out of 10 times it has been excellent. This was a 19:30 Sunday evening birthday booking to be fair, a glass of kir royal was given to me on arrival. We ordered our food which on the whole was excellent.....The Ribeye steak was perfectly medium rare....The Breton Chicken was delicious and, once again being served as a spatchcocked half chicken, after a brief spell of getting two legs for half a chicken!! A couple of things spoilt the almost perfect evening; The opening page of the Cotes website is a crab...guess what? No crab maison! When asked if we needed any condiments for our meal........ No vinegar.!...How can you have a restaurant without vinegar?, You can't serve chips without vinegar...... Especially when there is a Co-op supermarket 100 yards away!! The other thing I would point out was that i didn't think that gratin dauphinois potatoes, which accompanied the chicken was french for slices of undercooked potatoes in milk! because that's how it came! For some reason the atmosphere, especially from the staff was fairly cold. As though something had happen earlier. On past occasions the staff have always been talkative friendly. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but it felt as if something was wrong. There was a very large party in there, so it might have been the pressure of that. We like going to Cotes, and despite these small doubts will continue to visit. My advice to the restaurant?......iron out these small faults quickly, because the big guns....ie Wagamama, Mama Loves Spaghetti, Giggling Squid etc. are moving in!! also.......get some vinegar!! "Had dinner here prior to going to the theatre. Glad we booked as busy . Service was efficient meant we had time to share a desert which we were pleased about as when portions of tiramassu passed our table earlier in the evening looked yummy and it was . Also enjoyed an expresso kept me awake well during the performance and on the drive home Not cheap but worth it for the occasional treat.
