"Waiting service asked the same questions, ordered roast pork loin but got belly of pork, confusion from the staff over the difference in coffees, and we were sat right in front of the singer who was very good but meant that we couldn’t talk as she was too loud."

"Came especially for the vegan menu (I’m vegetarian as I heard good things about it. Drove from Lisburn all the way to Parkgate and had 2 very enjoyable nights. First night I had the cauliflower popcorn (bit too salty for my liking and the sweet potato roulade (amazing! . My husband had the soup of the day (very nice and the risotto (little bit stodgy, looked as if cooked too quick . For dessert I had the apple/berry crumble which was very nice and husband had sticky toffee (also gorgeous! . Decaf oat latte’s at the end sealed the deal. Just delighted to be able to order a good decaf coffee! Next evening returned with a friend. I had the salted chilli stir fry (verrry salty, but that’s what it says on the tin and the cauliflower pie. The pie was a bit of a let down. The gravy was overbearing, essentially, the whole dish tasted of gravy. I would have preferred to get it in a dish on the side (like with the roulade to add the amount I prefer myself. Same desserts again this evening, both again very nice. Service was ok, young girls mainly and you could tell some were a bit inexperienced but that really didn’t impact us. Food came out super quick! I will def be back, altho I won’t be ordering the pie again and I hope next time I will be able to try the “scallops” as they were sold out both nights (sat 6pm and sun 7.30pm and they just sounded amazing! If your hesitating to go for the vegan menu, don’t!! It’s the best vegan offering I have encountered to date. I really hope they keep it up."

"The service at this restaurant is quick, and they serve a delicious and healthy breakfast before 3pm. They have excellent coffee and offer almond and alternative milk options, which is a great addition."

"to the seen, we in the week before the departure of the chance for a Sunday roast, only to say that the restaurant was fully booked! we thought that would be a good sign, so booked for the next Sunday and welcomed by a friendly staff and great selection of weep always a good start. the menu was limited, perfect for our requirements. the roasts are beautiful and taste like a real home cooked dinner exactly what was necessary. my only critique is the size of the parts that are these on the small side and we are away feeling hungry! they can order additional pages that helps, but this pushes the roasts at £20 per head expensive for what it is and more than the best steak house on the whole way. would come back, but would like to see larger portions, a few more seasoned and happy!"

"Delightful pub just up the road from Crawley, Gatwick and Charlwood. Opposite a beautiful wooden church. There is a beautiful Inglenook fireplace with horse brasses and a post horn surrounded with fascinating artifacts and cozy seating. I had the pork and stuffing pie which was very tender and generously sized. My friend, Tony had salmon on Moroccan base which was beautifully prepared. Dessert was just as delightful with my Sticky Toffee Pudding of excellent quality with generous caramel sauce and a large dollop of chocolate ice cream. Tony loved his apple crumple and a coffee after. Jo is the landlord and was very chatty and catered for our every need with a smile and good knowledge of the history of the pub. All in all, a really good pub and a short drive from the a24, Gatwick, Crawley and Redhill. It is next to St Peters Church which is beautiful with its wooden spire. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4"

"I was there for lunch during the week and it was very quiet, only our table and one other. The service was good and the food delicious, good portions and very good value. We couldn’t understand why it was as quiet as it was. I will definitely be going back and am looking forward to seeing the restaurant in a night setting."

"Nice local restaurant with good Italian food and wines. Spacious but popular so busy. Prices a bit high, for two we had starters, pasta and one dessert plus 4 glasses of wine and came to £105 which we thought was a bit high and service a bit slow"

"it can be part of a chain, but brewdog castlegate has some of the best burgers in the city. the buffalo flowers should not be missed and if they can tuck into the vegetarian partial map of mais on the cob is phenomenal. there are many good drinks available, including some non-alcoholic beers that are driving for them. when they go, make sure they get a burger."

"I was celebrating my forthcoming wedding, I ordered a steak medium rare and it came out well done, I sent it back along with my mother’s luke warm fish meal. 10 minutes later I got my steak which was cooked perfect, but my mother didn’t receive hers back so I went to the bar as obviously I wasn’t happy cause I wasn’t going to sit there and eat on my own, the guy at the bar doesn’t listen to what I’m saying and tells me I’m trying to cause trouble and that he wants us to leave! I was shocked and really don’t understand what his problem was?! It’s not a cheap resturant therefore I expect good service and good food.. I would never go back or recommend this place to anyone he was soo rude and ruined my celebrations.. I used to go when it was Bougee, but the new place is not a patch on it! Awful experience!"

"The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere in the garden, especially in the sunny weather. I thoroughly enjoyed my main course of grilled salmon. However, the dessert was disappointing as the cherry-flavored ice cream was a bright pink color instead of the expected vanilla with cherry pieces. The service could have been improved, as the starter arrived before the wine and was left at the table."

"The staff were all extremely pleasant and attentive without being too intrusive. Due to the restaurant being fairly empty, we had multiple members of staff with which to deal, though this just ensured speedy service rather than errors being made. Whilst the menu choice was not the best, there were a sufficient number and type of dishes from which to choose, so that everyone in the group (4 of us) was happy with the options. The tapas portions were large enough that we all had a decent taste of each, and apart from the traditional Pide (which received no likes) the consensus was that the food was tasty All in all we had a very enjoyable meal, which, with a cocktail each and two bottles of wine came to a very reasonable £225 (with service charge) ."

"If you’re looking for a lovely lunch/dinner in Bath, we can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. After reading many brilliant reviews, we decided to give it a try. We received wonderful, attentive and knowledgeable service straight away from Giovanni which was great. We had two gluten intolerant members of our party and he was great with clearly explaining what we could safely have. The quality of food at this restaurant is absolutely fantastic, and the chef cooked everything to perfection. We are real foodies, so we know good quality where we see it, hats off to where they supply their produce. We had steak for mains, cooked in the kitchen and also a block to finish off one at the table which was great fun! Absolutely making steak, best we’ve had in a long time. We absolutely loved our lunch, couldn’t fault anything and would definitely return on a future visit to bath. Thankyou for a such wonderful lunch, p.s the Malbec was outstanding!"

"We had booked a table and arrived 15 minutes late because we got stuck in traffic. We tried to call to let them know but no telephone number was to be found anywhere. When we got there 1h before closing, the place was completely deserted and they told us that they had already closed the tab and couldn’t serve us anymore. Very disappointing since we had come all the way across town for nothing."

"My husband and I had booked a table for 5.00 a.m. when we went to the theatre and the restaurant was within walking distance. This was our first visit, and we were very impressed by the facilities in the dining room and asked about the history behind the establishment of the restaurant. The Maitre D was very knowledgeable and passionate and was proud to explain how the dishes were cooked etc. and explains the story related to the beautiful picture hanging on the wall. Fantastic start to the evening. The food was amazing."

"the taste of eating was very good. the brat was a bit on the cool side, would have been hot when it served. something on the carrot and the papagei, as only a piece, but the bark was abundant. yorkshire puddings good and my roast potatoes are craspier tired bit they are but I am not mass production. it was cold to sit at the back of the pub and would not want to sit there again. I want to sit in front of the pub when we come back to what we will do. the staff was excellent, courteous, helpful and happy, which is why we have left a great tipp."

"Very pleasant Italian food.Quite small so very noisy when full plus very loud music. Why oh why do Italian restaurants never give you enough Parmesan and have condiments on the table. There was too much tomato sauce on the bolognese and a shame they could not make an affagato,as it is only a scoop of icecream with a shot of espresso added.Indeed all the deserts were not homemade. The pizzas were excellent. The waiter is charming and attentive."
