"Delightful pub just up the road from Crawley, Gatwick and Charlwood. Opposite a beautiful wooden church. There is a beautiful Inglenook fireplace with horse brasses and a post horn surrounded with fascinating artifacts and cozy seating. I had the pork and stuffing pie which was very tender and generously sized. My friend, Tony had salmon on Moroccan base which was beautifully prepared. Dessert was just as delightful with my Sticky Toffee Pudding of excellent quality with generous caramel sauce and a large dollop of chocolate ice cream. Tony loved his apple crumple and a coffee after. Jo is the landlord and was very chatty and catered for our every need with a smile and good knowledge of the history of the pub. All in all, a really good pub and a short drive from the a24, Gatwick, Crawley and Redhill. It is next to St Peters Church which is beautiful with its wooden spire. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4"

Really friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, good food. Lovely looking pub. The only suggestion I would make is some nice ambient music rather than the radio. Will come again.

Four of us chose a different roast dinner and they were all delicious ! Lovely relaxed atmosphere even though the pub was full. Friendly staff. Would highly recommend for a Sunday lunch with friends.

Beautiful setting, friendly service, good food. Veggie options limited. Veggie sausage and mash was literally sausage, mash and gravy, no side of veg. Amazing hot chocolate. Lovely open fire on a crisp winter day!

We booked a table for 3 between Christmas and New Year and it was very quiet in the early evening. Apparently they've just got a new chef and we all enjoyed our meals very much. The chef came to say hello and we had a nice chat before we left. A very nice experience and we'd definitely go back again when we're in the area again.

Our experience was terrible. I ordered the two courses for £20….turkeydinner and bread and butter pudding. The dessert course was fine but the main course was terrible. Three Brussels sprouts, three small carriers, two roast potatoes, chip plata sausage wrapped in half a rasher of bacon. No stuffing, no Yorkshire, , the smallest portion I have ever experienced in any pub! After I complained the waitress just ignored me and I had to ask her what the kitchen and management had to say about my feedback. She explained that’s how it’s been costed out. No sign of the chef Brussels we’re like bullets) and no sign of management re portion size! It was a child’s portion! Not an adult portion! I felt...
