"Not sure why it's still table service only for just drinks and it took ages to come despite the plethora of earnest young waiting staff. Accept prices are high for the amazing view but not being given a notice about tipping as well just for drinks; the girl hung around expectantly. And my husband said the beer was hazy, not bad enough to return but he didn't finish it. We've been visiting the pub for 45 years and still only one ladies toilet for the number of visitors. We had thought of returning for a meal but weren't impressed enough."

Great location, great views, great food and service, lovely staff. What more could you want ? A lovely English country pub operating at the top of its game. Will definitely be returning.

A delightful gem of a restaurant which is clearly very popular. We squeezed in a reservation online, but it was packed (on a Wednesday evening). This is an enchanting location with a scenic view, a genial host and great food. We had risotto and calamari as our two mains. Thoroughly recommended.

really charming, a cozy pub a little on the hill with a lot of outdoors, many under protection, with magnificent view over the valley. delicious and well presented eating, I had the sunday roast lamb that was tender and tasty. really friendly and helpful team of servers. we are coming back to the final.

very nice pub, great location and beautiful service. eating was great, including my vegan burger who was really delicious. only beer we didn't like so much, especially because they were too warm. but maybe it's just us. we love cold. a part of it we had a great time and enjoyed eating as well as the view of the valley. great place to finish a walk around box hill. there was a good selection of local beers and traditional pub favourites such as fish and chips, burger and cake. the food was good, but the service was missing from this extra bit of fines due to younger, inexperienced server. they still enjoy our visit and would recommend them.

Gorgeous little pub tucked away from the main road, plenty of outdoor seating, SUPER friendly and efficient staff and the most delectable lamb roast I’ve ever eaten. I ordered fries instead of roast potatoes and damn they were crispy. They only take cash tips so bring cash cause you’ll need it for this place, hats off to the staff!

We chose this pub because of its beautiful view. We had dressed crab, which was on special offer that day, and it was delightful. It would have been better with mayonnaise rather than Caesar dressing on the salad, though. The service was charming and attentive but sadly we were unable to leave a tip because there was no way of adding that to our credit card payment View menu

Went here for a new year's Day lunch after a walk round box hill. Vegan food was incredible friends all enjoyed the burger and the vegan pie special was to die for. Honestly some of the best vegan pub food we've ever had, we were talking about it the whole way home. Staff were really friendly and attentive. Would definitely come back if we were in the area. Only downside was tips were cash only so we couldn't leave a tip the staff team so deserved. Thanks Eamon and all

I recently visited the king william iw pub in dorking and what magical place it is. in a magnificent landscape, the pub offers a magnificent view, a relaxed atmosphere and welcoming staff. the pub has a row of outdoor terraces, perfect for catching the sun or sitting in the shade. the food was excellent (calamari, followed by entensalat) and all at a very reasonable price. the staff was attentive and extremely friendly. I would highly recommend if they are ever in this part of the world, worth a visit or two.
