"My friends and I dined at this restaurant last night. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with both the food and service. The burgers and fries we ordered were all cold and extremely salty, making them inedible. The cheese and onion fries we ordered were soggy, salty, cold, and covered in bottled squeezy cheese, making it difficult to enjoy. The prices were also exorbitant, with £7.50 for the fries and £12.75 for a glass of wine. The servers simply dropped off our food without plates, and we had to ask for them. They never came back to check on us, only appearing again when it was time to present the bill with a £21 tip added. Overall, it was a terrible experience and I would not recommend this restaurant. Save your time and money and dine at one of the many better options in Leeds. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2"

"As a Father’s Day treat, I ordered the Vegan Portobello Burger and lattice fries, and I can honestly say, this was one of the worst meals I have ever received. I didn’t even eat it. It took an hour and a half to receive this horrific order and when I did, the fries were fused together in a wet clump. The burger, even though I stated no sauce, had two sauces mushed into whatever the main ingredient was. All the burgers advertised on the site say what is on the burger so I assumed this one would arrive as stated but if came caked in onions and sauce with not much else, bar a soggy bun. I am absolutely fuming to waste my money on such an abysmal, pathetic attempt at food."

"Cool place with live music, lovely staff, great drinks (quite expensive, but it 's the price you will find by going to a nice bar). You might need a reservation before going there. My friends and I were attracted by the rock bar style and the dirty burgers ads. They had red wine and I went for a gin and tonic cocktail with raspberry and mint. It was definitely a great idea. The drink tasted a perfect combination of all ingredients. However, the venue was busy and we decided to stood up using the bar as table. Suddenly some stripper came out and started dancing. We were quite embarrassed but it was fun anyway. I definitely recommend this place, but if you do not want to watch the strippers, just their website in advance."

"I have visited this restaurant had never had anything bad to say about eating. I guess it wasn't my day. the service was slower than usual and had to stand up to attract attention, although it was quiet. starters were nice that we had the buffalo wings. my head came. I ordered the baconburger. it didn't taste right and made me feel sick. I looked down to see that the burger had a big raw spot of chop meat in it. You could smell it was raw. I called the waitress and she replaced happily with a hot dog without possibility that I could eat the same meal after I had tasted raw meat, my mother ordered the same meal and her burger was cooked with fine. what annoyed me was...read more"

"We have been lunching at this pub off and on for years and in the past have enjoyed the food, but June 8th was not a good experience. I think the Roast pork, with apple sauce on ciabatta and fries from the specials board is actually the worst thing we have ever been served with anywhere, ever! Not sure if it was the last of the pork as it disappeared off the specials board whilst we were there) but it was beyond awful. Two slices of pork but so much fat and inedible gristle ! and why was the ciabatta toasted until it was black? Served on a very small plate with a little salad, there was insufficient space to remove the fat and gristle without the other bits falling off the edge of the plate. We don’t complain, but if anyone had bothered to ask how it was I would have said, we would never order this again, or recommend it understatement) but the girl clearing the table never asked, despite all the fat and gristle from the two portions being piled up and very visible, so I guess a review is the next best thing. It is a very reasonably priced establishment, but we would happily pay more for better quality, and it may be some time before we return."

"The food at this restaurant is delicious and it is run by two of the friendliest people. The service is excellent, with a delivery option available for dinner. The price per person is £10-20. The atmosphere is rated a perfect 5. Some recommended dishes include Loaded Chips, Biscoff Cheesecake, Skin-On Fries, Vegan Mac and Cheese, Hamburger, Onion Rings, Chili Cheese, Tater Tots, Hot Dog and Fries, Nachos, Fudge Cake, and Mac N Cheeze."

"We stayed for a week in the Tawny cottage. From pre arrival we had great communication and help with our booking. On arrival the cottage is gorgeous three large bedrooms with en-suites. A cosy living area with kitchen and dining. Everywhere was designed to give a luxurious feel ! The hot tub was amazing lights speakers and more jets and water features than ever had at previous lodges and cottages. It had everything you could need for a comfortable stay and views opened out to see surrounding fields. We had takeaway pizza and Greek food from the street food vans and a drink in the pub. We also had two amazing meals the Mussel Burger, Chicken Supreme and Thai green curry were amazing ! Service was great and all the staff were friendly helpful. It had a lovely atmosphere and dog friendly. It’s such a relaxed area and full of charm. From the cottage there are fantastic cliff costal walks. We walked to Bovisand beach and along to Jenny Cliff then another day we walked from Bovisand to Haybrook bay and back. We also did Wembury point to Wembury beach then back to Haybrook. Great walks and views on the doorstop. On a rainy day we visited Plymouth and visited Barbican area for a meal. Then once the rain cleared a circular walk to the Hoe and lido and back to the harbour. Would recommend a trip to Dartmouth great views, lovely shops and great atmosphere at the food festival. We used the park ride and also walked to the castle. First time to South Devon and it had everything for a fantastic holiday would definitely recommend. Thankyou Lou and all at Mussel Inn."

"Think the staff were having a bad day when we visited. They were rude, combative, aggressive so we left. Another customer who also left had similar experience he said they were short staffed, had been told to come back for food as they couldn't serve them, when they did a member of staff was very rude and they too left. Everyone has a bad day, it's just a shame our experience was so negative when so many reviews are positive. Service: 1"

"We visited The Wheelhouse early one morning and were pleased to find that it was open before most other cafes in the area. We felt very welcome and enjoyed a delicious breakfast with tea served in a pot. We regret not having enough room to try their tempting cakes and scones. If you're in Minehead, make sure to stop by The Wheelhouse for a satisfying break. You won't be disappointed."

"So I recently visited FireJacks and it was a Monday night. It wasn’t very busy but it was the place we wanted to go to. Now it might also be the first place I’ve ever been where the food took less time than the drinks, and the drinks came in a very appropriate time. This did make me wonder as to how a K Jacket could be produced in under 5 minutes and therefore the freshness of the food is very debatable. The k jacker was a nice chicken burger however with a cold dry bun it let itself down. I also got cheesy fries which again were nice but knowing how cheap chips are to produce a few more would have been nice. Sadly firejacks didn’t light up our evening."

"We had a family meal here while out for a walk. Food came in a reasonable time and a decent size and price. Sometimes had difficulty catching the eye of staff. Draught beer and cider includes Stowford Press, Neck Oil and Proper Job which went down well. I had a halloumi burger which had a lovely amount of halloumi and it wasn't chewy but soft, great mix with pesto and peppers. Husband had steak and kidney suet pudding which was a favourite and the rest of the table had scampi (great big fat chips that were crispy and soft inside) and then mackerel pate and prawn cocktail (starters so they could justify dessert). The st Clements cheesecake was full of citrus but no orange and very creamy, otherwise didn't pack much flavour Toilets clean and well looked after"

"This is an idyllic, quirky little pub with great views, great food and a wonderfully welcoming host. We were stuck in the traffic jam on the A303 coming back from Glastonbury, and decided to turn off and find somewhere to eat .. after two abortive stops, we called the Rainbow and he checked how many of us there were and said he could accomodate us. Which ended up being extremely kind of him, since they were short staffed that day. It is very much a family run place, but that's much of its charm we couldn't think of a nicer spot to just relax and get away from the traffic surrounded by flowers, shrubs and a gorgeous lawn being mowed by the cutest little robot mower that fascinated the few dogs that arrived. The food was great, the host couldn't have been more helpful we geniunely will make a point to stop here again when we're travelling down to Somerset or Devon, or on the way back. Gorgeous, friendly place :"

"Sat upstairs, no atmosphere, sticky table that hadn't been cleaned from previous, no chance of getting it sprayed over. Very poor ploughman's lunch, piece of cheese and piece of pate small enough for a child, and very small portions of everything else. Eat some of it and left the rest, left the pub and had a bag of chips down the road. Between two other meals and drinks, spent between £40 to £50 never again. Price per person: £40–50"

"I ended up there more by chance and without a reservation and only had to wait a short time for a free table. The service was quick, attentive and friendly. The pricing is a bit unclear, there are no prices in the menu directly next to the dishes. There only seems to be a fixed price for 2 or 3 courses. My burger was tasty, but somehow nothing special, and I think £22 for a burger and fries is already a high price. The restaurant is really nicely decorated and the beer selection is good"

"A summary would be amazing food, lovely atmosphere and perfect service. This is a great place to enjoy proper home cooked food. We had a combination for food from the normal menu and some specials. First the normal menu offered delicious loaded fries, perfectly cooked pancakes with nutella, the Club sandwich was packed with filling and the excellent OM Eggs Benny. Also from the normal menu you must try the Sweet Potato Bhaji's ! From the specials we had the Mac and Cheese with brisket which was wow but i loved my Sausage Grilled Cheese sandwich which was amazing ! Coffee was great and this is just a lovely place to eat !"

"Firstly, I want to give a massive thank you to the staff at Smiths for being so patient as we both had intolerances that we had to take into consideration when ordering food. I unfortunately didn't get names of the staff but there were two in particular that were very friendly and understanding. The one blonde lady went out of her way to make a list of each item we couldn't have (I couldn't have gluten, there was also a dairy intolerance) to ease the decision of ordering food. I have never experienced such fantastic service in a restaurant!! The food was to die for, so incredibly tasty and fresh! Unfortunately we had eyes bigger than our stomach and didn't eat it all but the food was worth every penny. I highly recommend Smiths for some amazing grub when visiting Boughton On The Water! Dietary restrictions: A dairy and gluten intolerance that they were more than happy to help with"

"This is the third time we've been to The Brickmakers for a meal since moving to the local area. The food is always delicious and this is definitely becoming a go-to place for food. Last night, spoilt for choice, I was convinced to go for the chicken and chorizo pasta from the Specials board. It was excellent with cream, white wine, pesto, home made pasta, rocket and other delicious ingredients. We shared a dessert, brioche bread and butter pudding, which was also delicious. It is obvious the owners know their stuff. The food surpasses most pub meals you'd experience with ambience and we'll trained staff too. Highly recommend this excellent independent country pub. I have to agree with the owner on the last comments here about not enough choice etc etc. The reviewer must have been expecting Tom Kerridge or Gordon Ramsey to be in the kitchen ... although in our experience we've tried both and neither are as good, (possibly more about the name than the food) the menu choices are more limited and both are way, way more expensive."
