"We stopped here whilst on the canals and so glad we did. What an awesome place this is and the food is excellent. The mac and cheese went down a treat and one of the party said the burger was one of the best he has eaten in a long time. The beers were fresh and they had a good choice of ales. The service is attentive and the food arrived promptly. The manager went above and beyond in helping me out. Would definitely recommend this pub."

"Mothers day dinner, greeted at the bar by a friendly member of staff who showed us too our table. Drinks ordered and served immediately and given time to choose what to eat. Food arrived just in time and was served hot, and fresh. Pudding was a little dissapointment, all of us chose a brownie and the adult portion size was no different to the childrens, yet the price was £3 more for adults, with only an extra scoop of ice cream (menu showed £1.50 per scoop) so felt a bit ripped off with that. All in all though we'd definitely return, the bar lady even brought some fresh daffodils as a gift for mother's day, and the waitress brought my son some milk as he thought he'd like to try a Jalapeño off my Cajun Chicken Breast ."

"This pub offers a wide variety of beers and food options. The conveniently located toilets make it a great spot for beach-goers. The average price per person is between £10-£20. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive a perfect rating of 5."

"Ok, I will make a disclaimer-this is my local. Earlier this year the pub changed hands. Many in the village were apprehensive about the new owner taking over. The Bird had been in the same family for over 30 years and they were very much loved and respected, and lets face it-no one likes change. However, we are nearly seven months down the line and I can honestly say The Bird is still an absolute asset to the community. Yes, there have been changes-long standing staff have sadly left, who were all part of the furniture-and have been replaced. However, the new faces have proved to be excellent in their hospitality and friendliness. Special mentions to Ethan, Ebony and Chris, who always give a welcoming smile and are happy to engage with everyone and give excellent service. With Jason and the team back in the kitchen the food is as good as it has always been. So to those of you who may have stayed away since Colin moved on, please, visit again soon, you won't be disappointed. The pub is due to shut for a few weeks from 15th Jan for a refit. Investment is being made and I am sure things will only improve further. Merry Christmas to all staff and customers at the Bird In Hand, Saltford!"

"My daughter and I had a lovely lunch at Durty Burger. I'm not a vegan but I was really impressed as the food was flavoursome and delicious. The burgers were tender and we loved the slaw, salad gerkins along with the sesame bun. The chips were divine too with their dressing and interesting salad. I have a sweet tooth and was looking forward to a vegan brownie but only doughnuts were on the menu so if they had a little more variety on the pudding menu I would have said outstanding. The staff were friendly and the service was just right, no delays yet gave us time to enjoy each course. I'd defintely go again, we left feeling very satisfied!"

"We came here for the Sunday roast and it did not disappoint! All of the staff were so friendly, chatty and attentive. All of them asked how our day was going. The place was pretty busy and had a nice atmosphere with music. The pub itself had some old decor but it gave it that cosy old school vibe. It also had three floors and private karaoke rooms. The toilets were located on the ground floor and the top floor. Top floor toilets were clean and quirky. It also had a little garden area. I had the beef Sunday roast(£15.95) and my friend had the lamb Sunday roast(£14.95). We also had the sticky toffee pudding(£5.00). The menu was a good size with just the right amount of options. The meat was cooked perfectly and the gravy had a nice taste. The carrots and parsnip were just the right texture for me, soft but not overly soft. The potatoes could have been crispier but it wasn’t a problem. The dessert was tasty. The portion was good. I would say it was worth the money. Will definitely be revisiting."

"Saturday evening, arrived 8.10 and bar staff advised we couldn't order food for an hour, despite the place being half empty. So we confirmed the kitchen was open until 9.30 before ordering a bottle of wine intending to order a meal later. Went back to bar to order food at 8.50 (getting hungry) only to be told the kitchen was closed?! I was fuming as we checked all this before ordering drinks. So too late to eat elsewhere either. This place used to be an amazing gastropub, but a local confirmed it had changed hands a few years ago.. it shows! Menu looked very basic pub food and lots of half full plates being returned to the kitchen whilst we waited our hour thinking we could order food."

"One evening, my wife, adult daughter, and I decided to visit this restaurant in Porthleven after reading previous reviews. We arrived around 6pm and were surprised to see how busy the pub was for a midweek night in November. It appeared to be a popular spot for locals, with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Although there were initially no available tables, we managed to secure one after about 15 minutes, giving us time to look over the menu. I ordered the short rib beef pie with mash, mushrooms, and carrot, my wife chose the Megrim Sole with sauce and greens, and our daughter opted for the pepper sausages on a bed of mash and lentils. While all the meals were tasty, we were somewhat disappointed. My pie was small and shallow, more like a meat patty than a pie, and the portions were not very generous. Additionally, my wife's Megrim was delicious, but our daughter's sausages were the only hot items on the plate. Despite these shortcomings, we enjoyed the evening, the pub atmosphere, and the overall flavor of the food. However, we were disappointed by the portion sizes and the temperature of some of the dishes.Overall, while we may not return due to these issues, we did appreciate the experience and the taste of the food."

"Come to Bude each year. Rosie’s is s must go to. Went in the starboard part this time. Great views of Crooklets beach while you eat. Kids fish and chips great size and fresh. Kids pizza from the pizza oven with choice of 2 toppings spot on. I had meat feast pizza nice and fresh plenty of toppings. My wife said t was one of the best Fish and chips she has had ever. Homemade tartare sauce was a nice touch. Local range of Cornish beer Wolf Rock is always a go to for me. Staff very friendly hardworking and helpful. Cold Tap water given without asking. And kids get a free ice cream of choice for the walk home (or eat in). Ps the burgers and onion rings are top notch too."

"Warmly welcomed and served promptly and pleasantly after being seated. Our waitress was very helpful and well informed and provided various options/suggestions. Meal was very good and well presented and served promptly. Only issue was we had hoped to have coffee at the end of the meal. This was never offered so we decided to pay up and leave."

"We phoned on a wet Sunday and were lucky enough to get a table for the Sunday Carvery. I was slightly concerned at being asked to pay for the meal before I had even sat at the table, and I also found it odd that we were unable to add drinks to our bill (you have to go to the bar and pay for those separately). We decided to stick with it and I'm very glad we did because the meal itself was superb! A choice of three different meats, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and probably ten different varieties of vegetable gave plenty of choice. My wife had beef and turkey, while I had just beef and without a doubt it was one of the best roast lunches either of us have ever had. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic (the Cauliflower Cheese especially was superb). THOROUGHLY RECOMMENDED and I would go out of my way to eat here again."

"Went there for the first time with several other members of the blue knights law enforcement motorcycle club. Had Sunday breakfast. It was delicious, no grease on the plate, you could tell the eggs were fresh, sausages not cheap nasty but I reckon home made and service was outstanding , felt like we had our own waitresses . This as a club all agreed will be a regular stop and eating hole . Thankyou red dog . Highly recommended. Parking: Gravel car park couple pot holes which in a car isn't a problem. Slight hazard for bikers though but ok Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: £1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: English Breakfast, Full English Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free parking lot"

"Busy, busy pub, shame it's not twice the size. We visited the pub on a couple of occasions, the first time it was packed and looked like it would be a long wait for a table so we left and went elsewhere. We returned the following night but a little bit earlier, it was still very busy and all the tables were taken. We decided to have a drink ad wait for a table, which was about 15 minutes. SERVICE: Very polite and friendly staff who were all very busy but still engaged with the customers. Very efficient. FOOD: We ordered the Goulash and Pie. Both were very tasty and enjoyable, we would order the same again. A staff member checked to make sure that everything was ok a few minutes after receiving our meals. DRINKS: Good choice of beers (ales) and spirits. ATMOSPHERE: Lovely vibe, the place is alive with chatting and plenty of friendly dogs. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to visiting again."

"Visited for the Friday Night Supper Club. Superb four course dinner all four courses were excellent, service was friendly, and there was a short but good wine list. Price included minibus transport from local pickup points in villages either side of the Exe estuary. Not cheap but really good value for money. Highly recommended. Parking: Take the minibus! Price per person: £60–70"

"First visit to Glastonbury and first visit here. Cakes are awesome. Fell in love with Turmeric Latte! Great atmosphere. When I spoke to a woman, presumable the boss about the atmosphere. She replied saying its like 'poor man 's theatre '. Everyone gets a warm welcome, a smile and nothing seems to be too much trouble. Lovely secluded courtyard behind. We went back two days later for more of the same and were not disappointed. Meal type: Other"

"Also known as Street Grill, I ordered from this place last night on Just Eat. I called when my food was 40 minutes late, and the man who answered the phone provided disgusting customer service. He informed me that the food was still at the restaurant because no driver had come to collect it, so it was no longer good and we couldn't have it. There was no apology or offer to deliver fresh food. Additionally, he was very rude and abruptly ended the call. I have never experienced such poor service. It is not just a few teething problems they have, but consistently bad service and a horrible attitude towards customers when they are under pressure. Street food? More like street attitude!"

"Google maps said this place was open 10-4 today so I went for it. At 10:30 the proprietor was taking chairs off the tables as if opening! I asked are you open? and he said no, it says open weekends 10-4 (I paraphrase) and pointed to a sign on the door, which does indeed say Open weekends 10-4 . I then asked, oh, not during the week then? and he didn 't look up and carried on cleaning tables, presumably in preparation for tomorrow morning 's business! The sign itself may be accurate but does not necessarily imply that the café is not open at all during the week. I left frankly feeling deflated and slightly embarrassed after having been spoken to in such a patronising and rude way. It doesn 't bode well for the dining experience for the few who turn up on the right day!"
"I have been consistently impressed by the food at this pub every time I visit. The homemade pies and fish and chips are particularly delicious. The steak and Guinness pie is the best I've ever had, the crispy chips are amazing, and the fish is perfectly cooked. The staff are always friendly, and the atmosphere is quiet. This place deserves more recognition for their incredible food. Don't miss out on trying the pie! You won't be disappointed. The interior may not be the nicest, but everything else more than makes up for it. Plenty of parking is available, and it's free. The average price per person is between £10-20. Overall, I highly recommend the beef burger, traditional fish and chips, and French fries. Service, food, and atmosphere all get top marks."
"I loved my visit to The Three Tuns. I stopped off whilst on a bike ride through the beautiful countryside surrounding the village and had a lovely meal and a pint in the garden. Everything went very well and I really enjoyed the food and the surroundings. I opted for a Cajun chicken burger which was very tasty and well worth the money. The staff were very nice and professional and all the timings were spot on (service, waiting for food, asking if everything was okay, would I like another drink ,etc . I also enjoyed the music that was being played and I look forward to visiting again sometime soon. Revisited the pub and I am pleased to report that it is just as good if not better than my first visit. I was on a bit of an epic bike ride so I only opted for the Cheesy Chips this time but other people where having main meals and they looked and smelled delicious . There is a reclaimed nature reserve known as The Old Brickworks opposite The Three Tuns. It is well worth a look whilst you are visiting as there are some lovely views of the boats out on the water (or maybe in the mud if the tide is out! and of the local church just a matter of metres from the front of the pub and many people walk their dogs there before stopping off in the pub for a pint. As I mentioned before, this is a great pub, highly recommended and I will be back again and hopefully soon!!"
