"We found Delphine's on our way to the beach. It is a fantastic little island of kitsch 1950's Americana is what is otherwise a very lovely, but one note, high street (think Waitrose By The Sea). I had my very very food fussy 12 year old daughter, Paddy, a well behaved Labradoodle and my daughter's sugar loving friend with me. My daughter asked for a special order, (burger with plain bun, and chips, no relish, no salad) which the lovely man cooking and even lovelier waitress made it very clear was not a problem. When we arrived, there was only a two seater in the corner available, and, as there were three of us, I asked if we could move to a bigger table if one became available. That was also not a problem and as soon as a bigger table was free, they prioritised cleaning it up, and we moved. Some of the fresh ingredients needed for the milkshakes on the menu hadn't been delivered that morning, but we had that explained before we ordered. My daughter's friend ordered an Oreo Milkshake which was bigger than she was. She finished it. We all had different burgers and they were all absolutely delicious. When we go back to Aldeburgh, we will be heading there again!"

Loved this American style diner. Got here as it opened on Sunday morning very lucky as this place filled up quickly! Loved the pancakes. Decent coffee.

Food was good and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was great, all things 50's and 60's including the music which the chef was singing along to! Only downside was that it was quite cold inside

Three vegans visited this restaurant for breakfast and had a wonderful experience. We enjoyed the delicious vegan fritters that were served with our meal. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely.

We had two vegan brunches this morning and they were lovely, especially Delphine's homemade bean fritters. We loved everything about this café. Décor, music, food, lovely smiley friendly staff. It was perfect. Thank you. View menu

Perfect pancakes (maple syrup ratio bang on, as per my wife lol) Friendly service and lovely food. Delphines is a step back in time whilst serving up excellent food. Door stop toast and good portions. Also pooch friendly. Worth walking to end of the high street for.

The cream soda float instantly transported me back to my childhood, while our son loved his hotdog, cheesy chips, and Oreo milkshake. Although the restaurant is small, it has a warm and welcoming family vibe. The staff were friendly and we had a great experience during our visit.

A relaxed 50's style diner in Aldeburgh. Quirky decor and background music to match chef does provide a bit of vocals but who can resist singing along to a bit of Elvis? Had late breakfast Lumberjack special (pancakes, maple syrup bacon, fried egg) and sausage bap with scrambled eggs. All freshly prepared and tasty. Yes you need to be patient but then there is only two people...and it isn't fast food. Staff are friendly and the fact that they welcome well behaved dogs is a real bonus; fair prices too. Bring along a sense of humour and you should enjoy! View menu

Well the choice of American culture influenced drinks and shakes here is just most excellent, I had a Dr. Pepper float, which was so divine I had to have another one. It wasn't cheap, but worth it. Hot dog was lovely as were the fries, great taste, although the wait was long, as we came in with a crowd of people at the same time (only a small restaurant). Have been coming to Aldeburgh for years and never tried this place before, small interior so book, and tables are a little cramped. But this is a little moan. Loos weren't working when we went, so popped around the corner to the pub. Overall an enjoyable meal, and satisfied cravings for an American dinner meal.

We sat at an outdoor table and had a pleasant waitress take our order. There was some singing coming from the waitress and the chef. Our drinks arrived quickly, but after 45 minutes, we still hadn't received our Caesar salad and burger. My partner went inside to check on our order and the waitress apologized. Shortly after, the chef came out and reprimanded us for being impatient. He reiterated that all the food was freshly prepared and that they were busy. Eventually, the salad arrived, but we had to wait even longer for the burger to come out. By the time my food arrived, my partner had already finished his meal. When we went to pay, the chef was rude to another customer about it being cas...

"This wasn’t our first visit (the previous occasion was more positive than this) but this was really quite poor. Problem after problem, service was poor and just not very welcoming. Firstly, drinks weren’t available issues with draft, but then bottles weren’t available either. So there was a very limited selection of drinks on offer and the staff weren’t proactive in advising what was available. So it was request and receive a no! Secondly, the food was poor. The starters were shocking. Really quite bad. There was a bit of redemption from some of the mains, but we elected to not proceed with anything else as it wasn’t great. We had to wait ages for drinks and foods to arrive despite the fact that the restaurant was practically empty and many staff present. Frequently there were 3 staff at the back of the room standing about chatting, but they weren’t attentive to our needs. They didn’t check around the room to see if guests required additional drinks or require plates clearing. They didn’t check to see how the food was and when we complained regarding a starter they simply didn’t know how to handle it. When the draft beer came back on there was no proactive behaviour in returning to the table and letting us know so that more drinks could be ordered. Drinks were poured in wrong glasses, plates were cleared whilst people were still eating and then not cleared when they needed to be! Simply put the staff working had no idea on what table service should be perhaps they had received no training which is a major failing when the restaurant is part of a hotel. It was not welcoming. The restaurant was freezing cold. The service was really very poor and the food disappointing. They also don’t take dogs which in Aldeburgh is a bit weird. There is plenty of space and the tables are large so they would not be in the way. We won’t be returning."
