"still good. we visited here a lot when we lived in york, both the “old place” and the newer ones where he is still today. when I was hoping that it was still good, I went to lunch with the family shopping and wandering around the city. Despite the school holidays and in the regular busy in all york we were happy enough to get a table without waiting. still the same old menu as I remember what is not bad! we had all the burgers, the portions are still as large as they were visiting the last, still as delicious as I remember. the service was good, all were very full!"

"My partner and I ordered food from this restaurant after I had surgery. We spent £24, but the food was cold and the chip portion was very small, only about 10 chips. My partner's large mixed donner was more like a small donner, and there was hardly any chicken in it. When we called to complain, we were brushed off. I would give this place no stars if I could. We will never order from here again, it was a shocking experience."

"Called in for a drink after a walk round Jumbles Country Park. Was extremely impressed! The loos were immaculate and hand lotion provided. Bought soft drinks, tea and coffee and sat outside. There are both smoking and non smoking seating areas outside. The inside of the Crofters is lovely! Very well decorated and very stylish. We had a look at the menu and it contains a wide variety all at reasonable prices. Will definitely return for a meal in the near future. Staff were lovely, pleasant, polite and helpful."

"Heading to the Hippodrome I looked for somewhere we could have a pre show dinner but not too heavy. The Old Yard Tapas Bar was sporting a tempting Spanish Tapas and Greek Meze Vegan Dinner Menu so gave it a bash. In the evening each table is candlelit, intimate but can be open for good chat for groups. Bar is well stocked, music was pleasant and staff attentive with a nice ambience. There is a different vegan lunch and vegan dinner menu which are extracts from the main menu with some dishes changed to suit vegans. The vegan dinner menu sported 9 Spanish Tapas and 8 Greek Meze choices, with 11 sides (see picture). Unlike many places which brag about a good a menu but in reality they don’t have half of the ingredients, only 2 were not available due to being let down by suppliers. We choose carefully to ensure the tastebuds had a different sensation or texture and we were not disappointed. The ‘Breadbasket’ to start with had soft olive bread with vegan butter, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. A lovely appetiser while the food was being cooked and very cheap too. Spanish ‘Patatas Ali Oli’ was warming comfort food consisting of tapas fried potatoes topped with a vegan ali oli (see picture) Spanish ‘Morcilla Y Chorizo’ tasted just like real black pudding, but was a vegan black pudding with soy chorizo, topped with red onion. Amazing. Spanish ‘Chorizo Con Pimentos Asados’ delighted our tastebuds. Rich with no obvious indication it was vegan at all. It’s a soy chorizo with roasted red peppers and pan fried in brandy and garlic. Delicious. Greek ‘Boorekakia’ was really tasty and while the texture may put some off (very soft and slippery) it tasted really nice. It’s sliced aubergine, rolled and stuffed with vegan feta cheese and topped with tomato and vegan parmesan. We also ordered the Greek ‘Halloumi’ but it was off the menu so they served at feta version instead (and never charged us for it it was on the house). It’s is pan fried vegan halloumi (feta for us) served with oregano lemon on top. Refreshing and real palate cleanser. Washed down with a jug sangria, it felt like we were on holiday. "Just had to put pen to paper to say what a fantastic and delightful experience it was eating at this restaurant today. Having just moved to the area from Yorkshire we drove out today to explore the local area, visiting Castle Douglas. Seeing this restaurant...brought a smile to our faces as three years ago we honeymooned in Greece. We have tried eating in Greek restaurants in Yorkshire to recreate the Greek experience but everyone has been disappointing. Although busy today the front of house girls were very friendly and accommodating and managed to fit us in and made us feel welcome. We ordered the meze starter for two as well as two main courses and wow the food was incredible. The authentic taste of the food was enough to transport us back to Greece three years ago. We were blown away by the food, the front of house staff and obviously the kitchen staff and chefs who made eating at Nikos such an enjoyable experience. We had a lovely day out in a lovely town. Without any shadow of a doubt we will be back to sample more delights. Authentic Greek cuisine has really been captured here in Scotland."

Aside from the heavy beat music which was far from relaxing for me anyway) there was a constant stream of Uber deliveroo type couriers picking up take out. A better arrangement to separate these guys if possible would make for a better ‘dine in’ experience. I’m sitting outside for sure next time."

"we had no reservation, but were raised and asked. we received a nice warm reception and was shown on a table for 2 inside. the restaurant was quiet then, next to the beautiful Greek music in the background. when we ordered and waited our food, the restaurant quickly filled out. we had an appetizer of tzadziki and pitta brot, then I had falafal with hümm and a little salat. hubby ordered a mixed (chicken and bark) souvlaki with chips. the food came hot and looked delicious. it was too. the falafal had a nice taste, but was not chili spicy so perfect for me. Hubby said the souvlaki was perfectly cooked and simply melted in the mouth. don't pluck today. the service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. nothing was too much annoyed. a beautiful meal and we will visit again when in harrogate."

"unfortunately the meal started with a flat limonade for my son. I had raised this to statin our waiter) and he offered to replace the limonade, but since it was from a bottle, it was probably something wrong with the type as these bottles are stored in this restaurant, it was safe to have water. my daughter ordered the oldest, but was given tonic water. everything was clearly overpriced and eating didn't taste as beautiful as we were made to believe. it was very bland and little taste. the service of statin was great, but the whole service was ruined by the owner of this restaurant. I have explained that the children did not enjoy the vegetarian muse. not even offered to replace the meal with an alternative. most restaurants want their customers to be satisfied with the food they are presented, and willtry their best to ensure that the meal is satisfactory. the owner also tried to calculate for the two drinks that were not consumed during the meal. I explained that they were returned to our waiter as soon as they were opened. the children enjoyed the Helloumi-Starter, but with the netzens (vegetarian mousaka and vegetarian gyros (too much happily.) overall the main and gloomy (all vegetarian deserts) did not meet our expectations. the owner obviously has no customer service skills and rarely smiled throughout the culinary experience. I am surprised when someone returns to this restaurant when they continue to be customer treated on this wise. I would not recommend ordering the salat, it was easy and was full of red wobbles. a very dissapointing experience and I will definitely not recommend this restaurant to friends or family. sheila"

"We had a delightful meal on Saturday night at this restaurant. We typically order 3 appetizers, take a short break, and then order 3 more appetizers in the next round. This allows customers to create their own meal with exactly what they want. The food was delicious, as was the house white wine served by the carafe. We finished off the evening with a few Greek coffees, as well as Metaxa and Tia Maria. The restaurant was not too busy for a Saturday, but there were enough customers around to create a lively atmosphere. The service was good and the total bill was very reasonable for what we had ordered. If I had to make any negative comments, I would say that the interior could use some updating. Additionally, when the owner came out later to visit tables, he seemed to overlook our table. However, these were minor issues and we still give the restaurant 5 stars for the overall experience."

"I didn't even know that arbroath had a Greek restaurant, I missed. friendly and friendly staff welcomed my wife and I tonight, knowing about the menu was fabulous and could explain exactly what dishes on the meze for two, attentive and unfortunately I didn't get their names to say thank you for brilliant service. we left us on the meze for two (meat version) and often there was a good help of directed who were finished with the lamb and huh, we were well filled but on a good wise. I wanted to try a pudding, but my group said: “who are they sweating “quality of food and service was impeccable, prices were very reasonable and the selection on the menu was very good and not overwhelming. if I had critique, I am not just a favorite) I would have had no chips as one of the Meze selections, otherwise good value for money, beautiful personal and traditional Greek dishes in arbroath"

"Very accommodating for a group of 6 on a Saturday evening! Needed to find a restaurant in the city centre of Liverpool that had veggie options, was affordable, yet stylish and not too overcrowded. I couldn't find any decent bookings anywhere within a 2 week time frame but Souvla had space. I also want to thank the staff for being accommodating when I needed to push the reservation back an hour (due to my friends being late). The restaurant was the perfect setting. Everything was so delicious and all my friends were so pleased with the choice!! Also the complimentary dessert is the best"

"I had the mega breakfast. I mean, how big can an breakfast be?. it's quite huge. it was not served on a plate, but on a ceramic floor. now I am originally from wales, and we banging girls can eat, but I must confess to my likes said confession to any Greek godliness known to men. Unfortunately, I was beaten today, and without sounding inclassic, I fear the top button of my skinny (rookie error,) had to be resolved for the walk (part crawl, part roll) to home. all sweat aside, it was a nice, piping hot breakfast. good value for money, friendly staff and the Greek coffee was also beautiful. next time, I'll call for lunch and try a Greek court. a little local gem I wish I tried it earlier."
