"on my way to my annual Italian summer holiday I had a copy of stevie Parle’s book with me: “My kitchen, eat from the close and far away”. I haven't read much of a cookbook as a holiday, so I started to flick through the sides while on my flight. two hours later I was sold to stevies, which is more than a cookbook. is a travel book with food, is a recipe book with travel information, is the description of its passion for world cuisine, fresh ingredients, seasonality and sustainableness. once in london I started reading on stevie and found out that after a successful stint with a “pop-up” restaurant he now stints somewhere at the docks...read more"

"Delicious food. Welcoming helpful staff who helped us with choosing from the wonderful menu. Chicken was succulent and delicious,as were all the other dishes we ate. Freshly prepared and great you could share lots of small plates too. Definitely irecommend this little gem of a restaurant and lovely to experience all the different flavours of the Middle East."

"We are so delighted to have this pub/restaurant so conveniently located nearby. The prices for wine seem to have increased lately in pubs, so we were pleasantly surprised to find locally made beer and apple wines here. It's great to be able to enjoy a good meal so close to home, and it's definitely worth the trip even if you have to travel a bit. Plus, being right next to the train station makes it even easier for others to come and taste the fantastic drinks they have to offer."

"Understated, welcoming and deceptively good cooking awaits you at The Dering Arms. A particular strength is their 'specials ' board laden with fish dishes. And there is a very practised hand in the kitchen that certainly knows how to honour the best that halibut, sea bass, bream, crab and so on have to offer. Very good; very hidden away; very worthwhile seeking out. PerM"
