"on my way to my annual Italian summer holiday I had a copy of stevie Parle’s book with me: “My kitchen, eat from the close and far away”. I haven't read much of a cookbook as a holiday, so I started to flick through the sides while on my flight. two hours later I was sold to stevies, which is more than a cookbook. is a travel book with food, is a recipe book with travel information, is the description of its passion for world cuisine, fresh ingredients, seasonality and sustainableness. once in london I started reading on stevie and found out that after a successful stint with a “pop-up” restaurant he now stints somewhere at the docks...read more"

One of my favourite restaurants in and around Notting Hill, with an innovative menu which is probably modern European but with eastern influences.

Few places show real food innovation but this one is an exceptionthis is why it gets the 5th star, which requires to go that extra step beyond "just"

LovelyLovelyLovely. Food. Dizzy service, friendly and knowledgable though 07 Jul, 2011 LOVEITLOVEIT. This food is brilliant, every mouthful an EXPLOSION! we had chat masala (a kind of indian salad the waitress said) simple and lovely with a complex accomplished spice mix. Followed by slow cooked mixican pork, hot and tasty with lots of smoked chilies. Then the most delicios almpnd tart.

I ate at the dock kitchen some time ago and the menu has changed since. quite a trip from the center of the city that eat and service are worth it. the kitchen can best be described as international....my meal was a mix of italy, Morokko and france. the restaurant itself is very beautiful and spacious, on a small hill with a view of a canal..big glass windows on a side admit a lot of natural light.

the dock kitchen is a refreshing restaurant. it is cool without trying too hard and the menu is simple, focuses on a few selections, but still innovat. from all bozzen and hype from central locations, it offers expertly made Mediterranean dishes in a warm, quiet atmosphere with a view of a canal. the menu is constantly updated, based on the seasonal availability of ingredients, so no risk of getting bored by getting back too often! Not good enough anymore. I have been to this restaurant many times in the last few years. The first time I thought I had found some kind of food heaven. But I guess every place has its day. Over the last four times I have been I have had a nagging feeling that it's really not as good as it should be. I went tonight with my whole family, promising them a great meal and felt really let down. It just is not as good as it should be. So it is with a heavy heart that I say I will not go there again. Sad.

one of the most delicious duos italiens was the focus of a recent interactive workshop under the lead of the famous chef chef dan doherty with a unique takeover of the dock kitchen by ladbroke grove. dan doherty can best be known for a famous coupling: the duck and waffel bowl in restaurant duck waffle where he is chief director. but the man knows his way to a san daniele prosciutto and grana padano also. And I was glad to be with the guests who took part in his workshop. And he seemed very home, actually his thing in kitchen docks' attractive channel sidecrows.
