"This was our first visit. I have to remind myself that this is a training environment for students but there should be someone in charge, who is identifiable to direct the students on how to present a menu and how to place a dish in front of customers. However, four courses for £35, amuse bouche counted for one course. Amouse bouche lacked any seasoning, orzo starter, well cooked but again lacked seasoning. My wife had fish, Coley, which was nice. I had chicken breast on a bed of curry sauce with hassleback potatoes. My whole dish was luke warm at best, the curry sauce was overpowering, and the hassleback potatoes were not crispy. The chicken was lovely and moist and I ordered a side of triple cooked chips which were super hot, expensive at £4, I only wish the rest of my dish was that hot. I had cheese and biscuits which consisted of Brie, blue cheese and cheddar together with chutney. My wife had Pain Perdue which was well presented and tasty. The restaurant is more like a cafe, not cosy, so don't choose it if you want a romantic evening. Overall would I go again? probably not. If you are ever near the Lake district try to book a table in the restaurant at Kendal College. On a final note; there is parking on an evening next to the college. Drive up to the barrier and press the call button, security will let you in. The barrier opens automatically on exit."

"I recently visited this bar and it was a great decision! The atmosphere is cozy and stylish, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a long day. What truly made the evening memorable was the bartender, Noel. Noel is a master of his craft. His cocktails are not only delicious but also visually stunning. It's clear that he has a real passion for mixing drinks and isn't afraid to get creative. I particularly appreciated his friendly and attentive service. Noel greeted us warmly right away and used his expertise to guide us through the menu. Whether you're looking for a classic cocktail or something new, Noel always has the perfect recommendation. Overall, it was an excellent evening, and I highly recommend this bar, especially if Noel is behind the counter. I’ll definitely be coming back!"

"Went to this hotel to eat, not expecting much as the outside looks a little time-worn and could do with brightening up with hanging baskets. That is the reason for 4 stars rather than 5. Inside, the hotel is lit in a subdued manner which is oddly welcoming. We were greeted promptly and politely. The menu was pretty extensive but not massively expensive. The food was excellent and served by polite efficient staff. The wine was good too! The food and service was so good we went there twice whilst on a short break in Norfolk. The people, chef and waiters, make this place! Very well worth a visit!"

"Have been here a few times now and the food is incredible, I cannot fault it at all. The service however was disappointing we booked a table for 6 and one person was ill and could not attend. So we got moved from our 6 table onto a 4 table with someone added on the end of the table we were squashed in and asked if we could have the original table. We were told the table was already booked out to someone else (even though that was our original table) the whole two hours we were there the table of 6 was unoccupied so do not understand why we had to be crammed in with not much elbow room and plates on top of each other. Really disappointing especially after being lied to about the table being booked and remained unoccupied the whole time."

"I enjoy Chinese food, especially noodles, but this was the first time that I experienced such stinky and terrible tasting noodles that I had to take them off my plate. The lamb and vegetable dishes were absolutely delicious, but I can still taste and smell the unpleasant noodles. I think it was possibly just a mistake, but it definitely affected my overall experience."

"ReAlly tasty meal, our first time having Nepalese food, so we left it to the owner to choose our meal. The staff were very welcoming and super clean environment, with lovely little touches around the restaurant. Even the papadum sauces were super fresh tasting and different to the normal had it been an Indian. The food was so flavoursome and the lamb aromatic even the sauce on the chicken was tasty and light. The prawns in the starter were so meaty and yummy and who would think to put a mint sauce with prawns . Highly recommend."

"I walked past this place (recommended by London Street Eats) and stepped inside. It's a simple, bare bones kitchen, with all Vietnamese staff, with an essence of mini Vietnam (or what I assume as I've never been to Vietnam before). I ordered the roast pork with rice, which came with an green red palatte of fresh spring onions, bright red chili, and salad. It was sublime. Fresh ingredients, textured flavours, perfect balance of flavour, succulent meat, warm fluffy white rice this is without a doubt one of the best meals I've had in the city. My only concern was that it was so good, that it has ruined my other more local Vietnamese place forever. It was so good, I went up and ordered another portion of food, the Beef Pho. I normally dislike Pho in London. The soup is usually watery, bland, and distilled. That wasn't the case here there was a wonderfully sweet mint broth that'd clearly been brewed with care. The Beef, unfortuantely was dry but for £3.50 (yes, £3.50) I couldn't exactly complain."

"Booked a table for dinner while staying at the local caravan site. The menu looked nice and reviews were decent. We were shown to our table and given menus and asked what drinks we would like then waited and waited for the drinks to arrive....At last the drinks arrived and we were ready to give our food order but the waitress just left the drinks and off she went. I do understand there is a shortage of catering staff and the girls all seemed very young so maybe this is a training issue, however the restaurant was very quiet. Eventually she came back to take our order and it arrived after a reasonable time. I ordered a starter of pan fried King prawns in chilli and garlic white wine butter, what a disappointment- the prawns were just warm and there was no garlic flavour at all. The chilli white wine butter just tasted overpoweringly of hot vinegar. I had the special of lamb cutlets which was quite tasty but the fat on the lamb had not been rendered and was unpleasant. We didn't bother with deserts."

"This restaurant is a wonderful choice for a budget-friendly meal. The table service is excellent and I had a great experience dining there today. I enjoyed a 3-course meal for only £10.80. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very pleasant. I highly recommend trying the Chicken Noodle dish."

"Great food but takes rather long to come. The only downside is they don't take card payments. I had to go out to the cash point which luckily is very close."

"Well, where do I start?First time in this bistro and first time using a Groupon voucher in this Bistro. Small place but ok. When I explained that we were using a Groupon voucher the young girl serving said that was ok, so we ordered our sandwich and drinks which were fine. Then I asked for a fruit scone at the counter. The young girl did say that anything extra was not covered by the Groupon voucher and we both said we understood we pay for anything else ordered. A couple of minutes later the same young girl came up to me and said we have fruit, cherry, and plain scones. I said I had asked for a fruit one, oh she said. She returned a couple of minutes later with a cherry scone. I said to her that I asked for a fruit one. oh she said then returned with a fruit scone not the nicest scone I have to say my partner ordered a meringue which she enjoyed. However, the sting in the tail was when my partner went to pay for the extras which was a fruit scone and a meringue. The same young girl said to my partner that will be £6.90. When I heard this I said How much? As we were getting ready to leave a lady from the kitchen came out and apologised saying we had been overcharged and gave us back the change. The young girl had not made sure the till was at zero before ringing up the bill. In my view this young girl clearly was not with it. Both with the scone situation and the bill! If this place wants to keep customers coming back it will clearly have to up the anti quite a bit."

"This used to be an excellent restaurant. Food was always good, well cooked and great quality. Had a takeaway last night which did not match that standard at all. Slimy crispy duck, undercooked pancakes and greasy prawn toast for starters. Mains: flavour free and chewy beef in black bean sauce, special chow mein which was predominantly noodles and very little anything else. Even the prawn crackers were greasy and no real flavour Poor. And seriously overpriced at £9 a dish!"

"Surprise waiting inside as exterior unique with a small car park, once entering greeted by a very pleasant waitress really friendly and professional, two others waiting on, and serving drinks extremely attentive, excellent food and very child friendly good menu not excessive but just right, Nice wines and selection of spirits not a large selection of beers but decent quality food was very nicely presented and again good quality and cooked perfect we all had a variety of dishes not kept waiting at all very attentive staff excellent place to dine out usual prices which is fine when there's a decent chef and good quality food Vegetarian options: Good quality vegan meals, alsi asked us about food allergies which is good to see Dietary restrictions: As I've mentioned staff make sure dietary requirements are met more than adequate Kid-friendliness: Nine year old girl loved the menu and food ate more than me Wheelchair accessibility: Out the car into the door can't say much better than that"

"This restaurant was recommended to me and they weren't wrong, from the moment we walked in the staff were happy to do any thing for you, sevuce with a smile from start to finish. The restaurant is well decorated and very inviting, seats comfortable, and very clean. Quite a large menu to choose from from Thai to Malaysian and more, take your pick am sure you won't be disappointed. I had the chicken noodle soup to start can't vault this at all, tasted amazing, noodles fine and well cooked, chicken in strips and very tasty. My main was chicken curry with fried rice, again rice spot on tasty lots of it, and the curry was full of flavour I had onions in mine but you had the option to have without, again plenty of it. I was stuffed but had to eat the lot couldn't leave it. It was that good we have booked a party for the end of the month."

"If I could give this restaurant a rating of 0, I would. The food was flavorless, served in small portions, rushed, and overrated. We ordered set menu D, which included a mixed starter, crispy duck, prawns, crispy beef, lemon chicken, and fried rice. The mixed starter was lukewarm, and we only managed to eat the prawn toast before the duck arrived. The ribs had no meat on them, the chicken was tough like cardboard, and overall the meal was disappointing. The crispy duck was not crispy and had an odd taste. The main courses were very small, but in our case, this was actually a good thing. The restaurant also added a 10% service charge, but they allow you to take it off if you wish. The set menu cost £30 each, not including drinks, and it was definitely not worth the money. I would not recommend returning to this restaurant."

"I ordered delivery and requested my chicken curry breast to be mild. Unfortunately, it was too mild to taste the curry sauce, which was very watery and had more onions than chicken. I also found the chicken to be too salty to eat. The chicken balls and noodles were tasty, but overall I was disappointed in the meal. I used to enjoy this restaurant, but I will not be ordering from them again."

"Whenever our car needs servicing, we make the trip from Dundee to our local Kia dealer in Forfar. One of the benefits of this journey is the opportunity to explore different dining options while we wait for our car. During our most recent visit, we chose to dine at The Castle Club, a combination snooker club and restaurant. Upon entering the establishment, we were greeted with a staircase leading up to the first floor. At the top of the stairs, there were various doors leading to different areas, including the snooker room, toilets, and the restaurant. The restaurant had a charming decor and a welcoming ambiance. The staff promptly seated us at a spacious table and provided us with menus and took our drink order. We started with the smoked salmon starter, which arrived promptly and was delicious. For our main courses, I had the battered fish with chips, carrots, side salad, and braised red cabbage, while my husband opted for the seafood lasagna, which was packed with salmon, prawns, and white fish in a delightful white sauce. Both dishes were flavorful and beautifully presented. The staff were attentive and friendly, making our dining experience enjoyable. We were recommended to try the steak pie on our next visit, and we look forward to returning. I highly recommend dining at The Castle Club; you won't be disappointed."

"Used this takeaway service many times and until recently would've highly rated it. Last two times using them has been substandard. Prior to this, our delivery was over an hour late, on top of the 1.5hr waiting time. The 1.5hr waiting time is fairly standard and we were fine with that, but the hour on top with no reason or apology was not acceptable. Tonight's order came incomplete and it took them over an hour to come and refund my money. They offered me a replacement meal which I would have had to wait an hour and a half for regardless. Unfortunately the food is brilliant but the service is terrible. Will not be using again Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30"

"the menu could be somewhat larger, and it could be two portion sizes for the choice, but otherwise, error-free and consistent standards. they know that there is an effort in the preparation of the food when the frying sprouts are plucked at the front and back, the fried wobbles are made to house and the taste healthy and fresh. I am not a fan of chicken soup, but I love the grilled noodle soup and the salted vege and tofuss soup, which also has a good mushroom taste. good asian aromas and quality. with Singaporean and Malaysian connections, so for those looking for grilled suppenaromen similar to in SG/MY, this could be as good as in Britain."

"Can be quite expensive to sit in restaurant, best time to go is for the pre-theatre on Sunday and during the week, the pre theatre menu is limited but still has a decent choice. Food is always well cooked and tasty. If you want a sit-down experience at a chinese restaurant this is a good option. The ribs tasted of good quality, saucy and fell off the bone. Sweet and sour was good as was the satay chicken but didn't come with a creamy peanut sauce so it wasn't overly flavored. Dessert choices are limited, ice cream, gateau etc. They do not offer buffet. You can also pick up take away from here."
