"I made a reservation for a table at 6pm for 6 people (4 adults and 2 kids). We were served our starters at 6:15pm and finished by 6:25pm. By 7:10pm, we inquired about our main courses and were told they would be ready in a few minutes. At 7:30pm, I asked to cancel our order and pay for the starters and drinks. They then informed me that the food was ready and offered to box it up for us. After a 10-minute wait, we received one bag of food and were told the other bag was on the way. I ended up paying £115, despite expressing disbelief at being charged full price instead of a takeout price. The food was okay, but the overall experience was disappointing. It seemed like they were more focused on takeout customers and kept mentioning how busy they were, expecting me to be understanding. This wasted a lot of my time. I felt they shouldn't have accepted our reservation if they were too busy or if they were just interested in making money regardless of the delayed service. As someone who eats out regularly, this was the first time I felt compelled to leave a review."

"Stopped in on the way back from Livingston and had a light lunch. This was our 2nd visit and that tells it's own story. Staff are great. The food is tasty, fresh and a wee bit on the unusual side. I had a plate of home made soup and a sandwich. My wife also had soup and some pate. And very nice it all was. A good measure of an establishments quality, in my opinion, is the cleanliness of the toilet facilities. This gets a 5 star rating on that score! We couldn't resist the scones either but as we were choc full after our lunch these were taken home. With the staff kindly providing butter and jam. Pop in if you're passing. You won't be disappointed!"

"We had a meal there tonight and I have to say customer service was very good however we were waiting for food for quite a while considering the restaurant was pretty much empty... food was ok but we went out in Cheadle Hulme few days ago and quality of food was way better. I thought we would give a go this one as we have never been before however my noodles with veg were a bit plain and dry. 3/5 stars because of the food."

"We popped in for lunch after driving down from Fort William on a Friday. The place was quite busy, with no booths available so we took one of the centre tables, but the very MINUTE another guest left she moved us to a booth by the...window. The first menu we were handed was the lunch menu, which offers 3 courses for £8. But being from the Fort where there are 3 TERRIBLE chinese restaurant we asked or the full alacarte. I ordered salt pepper chicken wings for a starter, and the Seafood combo, and his fine self ordered the oriental chicken noodle soup and a beef curry withh fried riice. My wings came and the portions were so large I shared with him! He throughly enjoyed his soup woth the oriental egg noodles an got some wings as a bonus-lol!Shortly after the waitress advised me that the kitchen was out of scallops for my combo, but offered me extra others in it which was AMAZING. It came out with a surplus of big fat juicy prawns, squid and mussels in a sesame sauce garnished with an edible rice flower truly outstanding! His beef curry was devine also, the onions in it were thick and sweet, and the curry sauce was just spicy enough with a light cinnamon undertone.Needless to say, we both hit the clean plate club and had NO room for desert! YUM YUM YUM! PS I used to live not far from this restaurant and their take-aways are just as good as their sit downs Always a treat to visit here!"

"The meaning of the given name Sunkai represents creativity, curiosity, charm, friendliness, cheer and social life…. This place has it all wrapped up in one . Been a while since we last visited and decided takeaway and what a feast and fantastic value for money. Marie so socialable, chef very creative with flavours . Cheer… always smiling is Marie as she took the order and so charming and friendly and never forgot our faces . I am always curious to try a dish I haven’t had before .. so tonight we had beef and tomato , succulent pieces of beef in a really tasty sauce and a good starter for someone just trying out Cantonese dishes . Prawn foo yung hubby is a great fan of the sea) Chinese pork cooked with water chestnuts and bamboo shoots … delicious. Everyone’s favourite sweet and sour chicken balls and a good size too and really tender moist chicken inside . One portion of King Prawn rice which is enough to serve two with all the other dishes .. of course no Cantonese is complete without prawn crackers .. Thank you again Sunkai very happy bunnies and at £28.30 well worth the money"

"All the food was excellent and very tasty. Cooked to our individual needs for spice. The seating was a little cramped putting 6 people around a table that is really suited for 4. Because of this it also made it difficult for the waiter to serve without bumping in to us. Would definitely recommend a visit. Wheelchair accessibility: Would be difficult for wheelchair access as there is a step up and then internally the restaurant is a little crowded. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Tandoori Ayo Gorkhali Special, Hot Chicken Wings, Chicken Curry, Tandoori Chicken Recommendation for vegetarians: Highly recommend Vegetarian offerings: Vegetarian menu or section Parking options: Paid parking lot, Free of charge street parking"

"This cafe is the perfect spot to relax and watch the city go by, the staff are very friendly. You are made to feel welcome the moment you walk in. Their sandwiches are delicious…I’m always torn between chicken, bacon cheese or chicken, Brie cranberry. They have delicious coffee as well, it would be nice to have a choice in size but the regular is definitely a decent size but if you want bigger coffee fix then you are going to have to travel elsewhere. Their pastries are Devine, my favourite is the chocolate torsade. Price wise they are a little on the high side but I feel the service that they provide as well as quality of the food served is worth the money. I particularly like to stop by on my way to university. I really appreciate the fact that they offer highland spring water. Unfortunately I have no pictures as the food was too appetising and I was rather ravenous. I will always make time to stop at this cafe, it is also a cafe I recommend to my guests at the hotel I work in."

"It was a rainy day in Glasgow and I wanted something hot and soup. Way and behold, I found Chow restaurant. I ordered Hot and Spicy soup which costs me only £4. Went home and had it with rice. It just tasted amazing and filled my stomach. The next day, I ordered fried Spring Rolls to take away. Costed me only £3.50 for 12 pieces. It is vegetarian and tasted sumptuous for an evening snack. Do give it a try if you’re around that area. Service: Takeaway"

"Family Sunday Lunch. 4 roast beef 3 Gammon and one chicken. Gammon was thin cut , Chicken was of the Egyptian racing variety hence muscular and chewy, Beef was ripped from the sole of some old boots. Marston 's Pedigree was, as usual, perfect. First time we have tried it and regrettably the last."

"The website advertises an 11.30pm closing time. I phoned and placed an order around 10.10pm for takeaway and was given the default ' that will be ready in 20 mins ' reply. Turned up just after 10.30pm and as i was approaching they locked the doors and turned the lights off. Tried to call them but no one answered the phone. They know my mobile number on their system as they always know my name when i call. Outrageous behaviour and extremely poor way to treat customers. It 's already poor quality and one of the most expensive chinese takaways I 've seen in scotland. Its certainly not justified by the food or quality of service. Avoid"

"I had booked a table a week in advance for 6 of us to celebrate my daughters birthday, when we arrived we were told out table wasn’t ready and to take a seat, we could see the staff trying to figure out where to put us, after almost 15 minutes they shuffled a few tables and we were finally seated. After another 15 minutes while we watched other people being served who came in after us even after I tried to get the staffs attention, we left and will not be back"

"Food was delicious. Really good. But the evening was spoilt by having to sit in a cold restaurant near a door which couldn’t be shut properly. The restaurant has lots of take away customers which adds to the problem as the door was constantly being opened and closed. Would recommend making sure you are given a table at the back of the restaurant away from the cold draughts or waiting until the summer before going."

"I went in at 15:34 hrs asked for a cup of tea only to be told by a young female member of staff that they stopped serving at 15:30. I understand that they close at 16:00hrs but it doesn’t take long to pour some hot water on a tea bag so I cannot comment on the quality of the cake, that I would have purchased, as I was not allowed to spend any money? It looks nice but make sure you go in well before 15:30hrs. Service: 1"

"I walked in to the shop en route home from work to pick up some lunch and found four members of staff standing about doing nothing. You 'd think then that they 'd be eager to serve a customer. No, they all looked at each other until one of them finally took my order. A simple order...or so you 'd think. Can I have a panini with only cajun chicken and mozzarella please? I left the shop and took the panini home where I discovered that the panini also contained peppers and jalapenos *SIGH* Turns out that it was easy enough to pick them off though because there was so much filling in the panini that it hadn 't toasted properly and most of the cheese was therefore unmelted and 70% of the cajun chicken was cold. Let Me Eat boast they have the biggest panini ever. Personally, I 'd rather have quality over quantity and to be served by staff who actually want my custom."

"The massaman had a hint of sourness. Every other one I had was sweet. Waiter did not ask how our food was and when I mentioned it he just walked away. My friend had the green curry and that was tasty. Lack of customer service. Will not be coming back for food. Pretty disappointed."

"I am not usually one to write negative reviews, but I am so disappointed with what I paid for at this restaurant. I ordered a chicken chow mein, salt and chilli chips, and a portion of curry sauce for a total of £16. The quality of the food was extremely poor. The chips were wet, soggy, and flavorless, and the chicken chow mein, which cost around £8, had more mushrooms than chicken. The few pieces of chicken that were present were minuscule. This experience was disgraceful, and I have had better meals at this restaurant before. I expect better."

"Phoned for a takeaway meal for myself and my granddaughter who was due to visit. I had asked my granddaughter to collect it for me and I would make the phone call while she was on her way. However when I tried to give my card details to the girl taking the call she asked me to pay by cash when I collected. I explained that someone was on their way to collect and I didn’t know if they had cash on them but she still was reluctant to take my card details. So I agreed to phone my granddaughter to check. Granddaughter did not have enough cash to pay so I had to transfer money to her account so that she go to a cash machine before picking up the meals. I then phoned the restaurant back to confirm this and asked why they were not accepting card payment any more. She replied that cash was easier for them when people were popping in to collect. Well it certainly was not easier for me. The food was lovely though."

"This place is huge! It's a little dated but it's slowly being modernised. I can't fault my stay the room was clean but dated but if ya not bothered about all the mods then youll do fine. I cannot fault breakfast there was plenty to choose from in the restaurant overlooking the sea. It's ideal if your on a budget and just looking for some where to stay and get your head down. The hotel had on live entertainment and bingo so there was something to do and offers a couple of bars where you can get a drink."
