"Hidden away off the corner of Mortimer Street and Berners Street, Percy Founders is surprisingly large High ceilings, marble floors and Hockney prints. The dining room is split up into several areas for dining, lounge area and some high counters near the open kitchen At late lunch, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. "The atmosphere at The Arber Garden was wonderful. Had my 2 little boys in tow for an afternoon out with a friend and the waiters were very prompt with asking if I'd like to place an order for their meals first, which made it easier for my friend and I to have a lovely catch up while they ate. Our starters were the lime chicken and they were delicious, the aperol spritz cooled us off, our mains were the burger and fish and chips. The portions were well sized, especially the kids meals were quite decent. The kids were kept entertained with coloring pages. The waiters interacted with the kids and chatted with them about their day. It was such great service from beginning to end. Very attentive. The facilities were kept clean and easy to access for my kids to use . Looking forward to going back soon!"

"PJ’s is my neighbourhood gem. I love the food and the ambience. However, the waiter they had for us kept hovering above us like a helicopter. We had barely sat down when he came to take our order. I asked him to bring us the drinks menu. He brought them and stood there waiting. I asked him to give us five minutes to see what we would like to order. He finally got the message and left us. Throughout the dinner, he kept coming to us every five minutes, interrupting our conversation I hadn’t seen my friend for 6 months and we had a lot to catch up on) to ask us if everything was alright. Then when it came to asking for the bill, he either did a disappearing act or would not even look towards our table. I practically had to get up from my table and wave my white napkin to get his attention. I would have given my neighbourhood hangout and gem 5 stars if not for the waiter’s overbearing and overzealous behaviour. Be a bit more relaxed and treat people like guests in your establishment."

"This restaurant is really wonderful, located right next to the Prince Edward Theatre. While the bar area is great, we had made a reservation for the restaurant. I had requested a quiet table and we were accommodated. From the moment we were greeted to when we left, all the staff were friendly, helpful, and polite. Even the bartender said hello as we passed by on the way to our table. The food and drinks were exceptional. I had mentioned it was a big birthday celebration for my friend when booking. I had completely forgotten about this, but we were surprised with a delicious piece of cake and sorbet at the end, with birthday wishes. I definitely recommend this restaurant and bar. "The laughably poor Irish coffees were almost understandable, but not actually sure how a ‘French restaurant’ albeit fauxFrench, can actually cook a baked Camembert and get it so wrong. The rest of the food was just poor, added to which was generally haphazard service pushy and rushed at the start of the meal vs slow and uncoordinated for after dinner drinks and deserts. We have had passable Aubaine before in Mayfair, but this was just a big fail for Ken’ High St’"

"We were looking for a nice spot to fine alfresco on a Sunday afternoon and fell upon aubaine. We wish we hadn't. Boring menu, terrible value for money and appalling service. Normally I would avoid a french restaurant at all costs in order to avoid the typical snooty know it all french waiter. "Upon arriving for our Saturday night pre-theatre dinner, we found that the staff were slow to greet us and assist with taking our order at the bar or looking into reservations. "When we arrived for a Saturday night pre-theatre dinner staff were slow to approach us to either take an order at the bar or look into reservations. I was then informed that there is an issue with booking with Open Table and therefore didn’t have our reservation. Staff did however manage to find us a table. Food was very good and service was pleasant but rather slow and we weren’t able to have a second course consequently."

"Victors have changed it is more like a tapas style restaurant where dishes arrive at different time. Just very unorganised some people in the party received their food minutes after the rest of the party had finished. Waitress was nice and very pleasant but the kitchen were unable to accommodate any slight change to a dish. Wouldn’t go back or recommend"

"I had a fantastic experience at Ricci's. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars for ambiance is because it was quite cold inside. Many customers had to keep their coats on, which was a bit disappointing. It was one of the coldest nights of the year, and I think they should have turned up the heating. Despite that, I still plan on returning because the food at Ricci's (and Ricci's Tapas) is the best in the area."

"Booked for a pre theatre dinner. Husband disabled and the staff took great care to position us downstairs and pointed out the disabled toilet. Service was attentive and just the right pace. Food was fine, good presentation, not badly priced for theatreland. Fish and chips is recommended as a main, the fish was cooked perfectly, lovely and moist with a light batter. Lovely decor, would have loved to have sat upstairs with a scenic view but husband is unable to manage stairs. Downstairs did begin to get noisy towards the end of the meal, people who came for just the bar had no volume control."

"just after the reopening it was not sure how it would be. you go in, get your temperature scanned and you sit when you come by (I don't know what happens when your attempt looks suspicious). we sit on them between tables with people who are not really looking for a safe distance. we wanted to try the scrambled eggs and cornish crab however due to the reduction of the available items, this was not on the menu, but if we asked for it, our waiter went into the kitchen and got them to make it. they would highly recommend for their quality of food and first class service!"

"This restaurant is now called Dolce Italia. We had a table for 5 and were really impressed with both the food and service we received. The fish soup had a tasty bisque quality with fresh sea bass and fresh warm bread. The mushroom crostini looked good and tasted better. Caprese salad was fresh looking and yummy. Mains were also excellent. Belly of pork melted in the mouth, chicken milanese was moist with generous spaghetti in tomato sauce, with fresh tomatoes running through it. seafood linguine had lots of sea food, all perfectly cooked. Desserts were also good. I had the panna cotta, lovely wobble and beautiful taste. Also great value for money, with wine sensibly priced and affordable. Would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be returning."

"After dining at this restaurant multiple times, I made a reservation for dinner with three friends and was extremely let down by the decline in quality. The cocktails lacked flavor, the wine was tasteless, and all the food was overly salty. The lemon sole was overcooked, the butter sauce tasted burnt instead of nutty. The aubergine main dish was small and lacked flavor, more suitable as a starter. The halloumi main was bland and the sole goujons were lukewarm at best. The dessert, rhubarb frangipane, tasted like a subpar Bakewell tart with minimal rhubarb, and the Balthazar coupe was overly sweet. At a price of £270, this meal was far too expensive for the subpar quality. I am unsure if there has been a change in management at this restaurant, but I was truly disappointed and embarrassed to have recommended it to my friends. I will not be returning or suggesting this restaurant to others in the future."

"My boyfriend and I had an absolutely brilliant evening here for our anniversary last week (mid October). The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the ambience was just delightful. We arrived an hour earlier than our booking and enjoy some drinks on the roof of the boat. As it wasn't busy, we were able to be seated 15 minutes earlier than our booking which made the night go more smoothly. The food was served quicker than expected (about 15 mins if that), and was all presented very nicely. We ordered several small plates to share. Everything was divine! I would just like to point out for other guests, in case they skim over the menu as we did; the sweet potato chips are HUGE. You only get about 4 or 5 and it looks like the entire sweet potato has been slices long ways with the skin. Yummy but we didn't even eat half so I wouldn't order if you're not absolutely starving. ALSO: the regular chips are cooked in duck fat. As a vegetarian I didn't order this, but I did pinch some of my boyfriend's chips, as every girlfriend does, only to realise a few moments later what I had consumed... again still yummy, but I wish I had known beforehand. Could not boast enough about how amazing all the food was!! The cocktails were delicious. I enjoyed a french martini and a rosemary rush, the latter had a particular kick I'm still mouth watering over even a few days later!! The dessert was impeccable. We got the chocolate ball as did everyone in the restaurant, and it did not disappoint! That was plenty between two people. It's also quite romantic to share too. But being us, we also ordered the yogurt meringue delicious!! As we had such a great conversation with the manager and mentioned it was our anniversary, he didn't charge for our desserts! We were so touched, we are hoping to take some friends back with us soon. Would definitely 1000% recommend this fun little find. Also it is only maybe 10 footsteps from Paddington Station! Definitely a date night to remember."

"Went here on Valentines day with my girlfriend flying in from Ireland. The food was well presented, tasty and just the right portion size. The setting was perfect with a nice bar in the middle of the restaurant. The staff were really pleasant and always on hand for drink refill! One staff member stood out above the rest. Paulo went above and beyond with his service. He made sure we were happy with our visit. Although we had some minor complaints Paulo ensured he did everything in his power to make our visit was a pleasant one through some very stressful circumstances and even suggested some lovely cocktails! We would recommend this restaurant to anyone and it gets a well deserved 5* review."

"I went here with a party of 6 people for my birthday dinner, and i can thoroughly say i was not impressed. Our server, a young lady was giving attitude and genuinely seemed like she did not want to be there, the music in the venue was way too loud to the point where i could barely hear the waitress nor the person sat opposite me at the table. After being seated at 8.30 our starters and drinks came relatively quickly however we then waited around an hour for our food to be served, at this point we had complained and its only after that did food magically start coming out of the kitchen. We also noticed that other groups had been seated after us and got their food way before we did.... The food in itself was very mediocre, the seafood linguini was very oily and under seasoned and the cod and chips was bland and seemed over fried. The drinks were average nothing extraordinary. When we received the bill we decided not to pay the service charge which is optional. We spoke to management who admitted that there was a mess up in the kitchen so our orders were not input properly. I guess nobody including our moody waitress bothered to check in until after we had complained. I am also surprised that nobody bothered to communicate this information to us? its only after we spoke to management that they admitted their mistake. After we had spoken to management about poor service, they offered to reduce our bill by £50 which we thought was a good resolution however after leaving we noticed that we didn't actually get £50 off the bill, we only got £25 off as they had taken £50 off from the total bill which included a service charge fee of £25, this was very misleading off the staff to say, as they should have removed both the service charge of £25 and then given us the £50 off on top of that. Avoid this place, there are way nicer Brasseries in Central London."
