"Caruso is like eating in an Italian's kitchen dining room with family cooking the food. I took my tween and teenager there for the second time for my husbands and my anniversary dinner, and it was very special. The fillet and king prawns dish is the highlight of the menu (to me) and worth every pound. The parmasan of whatever version you choose is very good. The best place to eat a local classic, enjoyed by young and old. Caruso has an extensive happy hour menu and a very generous two hour slot every day. It's an all-around family favourite to dine there. Unfortunately, there are no photos this time as I was in the flow of enjoyment to remember that I could review this delight if I wanted to."

"On arrival greeted by a waiter who was wearing a shirt that required ironing and jeans that needed a belt. Directed to a 4 person table, even though there were tables for 2 available. Ordered hummus as a starter for my partner, only to be informed that unlike every other restaurant in the world, it did not come with bread and this had to be purchased separately!! The chips were undercooked and the mixed grill came with a very soggy skinned chicken wing. Overall, the food, for what they were charging, was below par. Wouldn’t rush back to eat there again."

"The food at this restaurant is delicious and reasonably priced. I have visited twice, with the first visit being a bit slow as we were not served drinks promptly. However, my most recent visit for brunch was enjoyable, with friendly staff and a tasty meal. The restaurant also offers sweets with the bill. The toilets are clean, but wheelchair access may be limited due to a step at the entrance and tight spaces inside. Overall, I am excited to return for another breakfast or lunch, as the chicken salad was particularly tasty with a delicious dressing."

"I had the worst experience at this Italian restaurant. For the starter, I ordered ribs, but they came with a watery sauce and bland ingredients that were separating in the bowl. The meat was overcooked to the point where the fat was nearly liquefied. The pizza lacked flavor and was made with noticeably poor ingredients. When I asked for chili oil to enhance the meal, the staff didn’t understand and brought me a small dish of chili sauce instead. I did voice my complaints but received the typical meaningless apology and one of the pizzas was taken off the bill. In hindsight, I should have refused to pay for everything except the wine. Save your time and money; you're better off grabbing a pizza from the supermarket."

"Chip shop attached to the pub was closed due to “staffing issues”…… it should have remained closed in my view instead of the bar trying to provide a substitute take away service. My husband and I ordered takeaway chips and a takeaway sausage and chips. The hardest chips we’ve ever had!! Rock hard like “dogs nails” absolutely awful. I took them back into the restaurant, who were happy to replace them with a fresher “softer” portion…….:. Still awful unfortunately. Stay clear if the takeaways very poorly cooked and definitely not worth the money that was charged!!"

"As everything shuts early on Sunday nights (same for Mondays) we came for an early dinner. I hadn’t had lunch too long ago so I decided to have two sides, the shrimp and cheese dippers. My partner had a bbq stack burger with chips. The shrimp and cheese dippers were nice and I liked the sauces. They didn’t have milkshakes and we wanted a sundae but they were out of ice cream which was disappointing. It was quite pricey but maybe other places are cheap. "Service is over and above , very friendly and efficient staff. third visit for sunday lunch, the gravy is ti die for ,(licking my lips thinkg about it,almost taste it The meat is a little to tough for my liking ,same as last visit (had the trio pity, spoiled what could have been a perfect meal, The chef needs to work at this. The vegatables are cooked well and tasty although a little too much brocolli every time. The carrot tops are left on so needed to prune these, Maybe its a fasion im not sure but I dont eat the stalks on pears ,apples ,turnips so Forth,,A little more effort and it would be thee place to go"

"Didn’t get table I reserved? No early bird menu as stated on line. Chicken mediocre, chips terrible just like oven chips, and the salad was a few salad leaves thrown together with two bits of red pepper! The dessert a cheesecake was terrible void of any taste, and the service was not attentive, very slow. This was booked for a special occasion which was very disappointing, we shall not be returning."

"We went to this pub yesterday for Sunday lunch and we were very impressed. It’s a really nice cosy pub and the staff were all so polite and helpful. We both ordered a starter of chicken liver pate followed by beef with all the usual veg and Yorkshire puddings. In all honesty, next time we will order one portion of pate to share because it came with far more toasty bread than you usually get and we ended up asking to take quite a lot of the pate home with us. The pate was to die for, as was the excellent chutney. It was served with rocket and other leaves which were crisp, fresh and delicious. The main course wasn’t far behind and it was piping hot. The beef was so tender and tasty and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. The gravy which was plentiful tasted incredible. It’s our first time and certainly won’t be the last that’s for sure."

"What a great night we all had, once again the staff at Roccos, sorry (Carusos) were excelent we where a party of twelve, and have to say I did't hear one complaint or even a grumble, all the food was top knotch, we were looked after in the correct way, my brother who is the only one who had never been befor said he was stunned at the quality of the food for this slightely out of the way restaurant, as said we had a great night (50th) wedding anniversary cellibration, and possibley stayed a littlonger than we should have but were not rushed in the slightest to leave, great service great food great night."

"Went here for a meal and was very disappointed in both the food and service. Firstly the place was freezing as had the air con on and 3 tables mentioned it to the waitress who finally turned it off and said it will soon warm up. It had a lovely fire but wasn’t on. We ordered a burger and scampi. The meal arrived the scampi was ok but the burger was raw in the middle, it was visibly pink and just tasted of pepper, too overpowering even if it was fully cooked. We told the guy who took the plate and never offered an alternative meal. We would have normally ordered desserts and coffee but the attitude of the server was poor so we just asked for the bill and decided to go. He just brought it over with no apology and we were charged full price for the meal which unedable. This place used to be nice for food but its gone down hill. it’s average at best and to hit and miss if you’re going to have a good meal or not and for the price they charge it’s not worth going if your going to get unedable food and leave hungry. Won’t be returning after this poor experience."

"Arrived 4-45 on a 18/11/22 without booking got a table for 2. Very pleasant attentive staff. Drinks order taken delivered promptly even though they where very busy. 3 different menus to choose from we choose 2 courses for 12-95 or 3 courses for £15 -95. Starts mains ordered. After a short wait starters arrive nicely presented, well prepared very tasty. Mains arrived after a short wait after finishing starters everything is freshly prepared cooked so a short wait is good. Main courses where nicely cooked very nicely presented. Everything was very nice tasty. We found space for a desert each they where both very tasty. A great meal in nice surroundings, pleasant attentive staff. Great value for money. This is available 12 till 5."
