Savory chicken stew with tender vegetables in a flaky, buttery crust.

"We have had meals and drinks at this pub/ restaurant on a few occasions and never had a bad meal. However this time there were a couple of dogs in the eating area, one of which was quite big and every now and again would let out a very loud bark. We are ok with pets in pubs, but not in the eating areas please, it is quite off putting."

"We had a great meal at this restaurant, recommended by friends who recently moved to the area. After a 3-mile walk, we were hungry and ready for a tasty meal. Despite being limited in options for non-meat eaters, we were happy with the choices available. We enjoyed dishes like vegetable gyoza, fish cakes (a bit rubbery), pork balls, yellow vegetable curry, tofu pad krapow, vegetable stir fry, beef massaman, and a spicy salad. The food was served in intervals by Mark, the only server working that night, but everything remained hot. Despite being warned that some dishes could be spicy, we found everything to be delicious and not too spicy. The dishes were all different and light, with good portion sizes allowing everyone to have seconds. Special thanks to Annie, Mark's wife and the chef. The evening was made even better with a good selection of beers. Overall, it was a pleasant evening spent with good friends, and we walked off our meal on the 3-mile walk home."

"Visited Blenheim Palace twice this month and disappointed on both occasions by Terrace Cafe staff. Rude and extremely grumpy towards me and my daughter. We took our own empty travel mugs and asked for two teas. They advertised ‘Free Soya milk’, on the board, but on both occasions, staff shrugged their shoulders and said they didn’t do Soya milk. The lady making our drinks, was extremely rude, blatantly huffing and puffing at us. Young lad on the till was equally unhelpful, when we pointed out that the wrong labels had been placed by the wrong cakes. Later, we asked if we could have some plain tap water in our cups, and they were filled with warm water! £4.50 for a slice of cake!! Would be happy to pay this, if staff in the cafe were courteous and cheerful."

"I had a great experience at this restaurant with good, hearty pub food at a reasonable price. The only downside was that there was an 11-year-old birthday party happening which made conversation a bit difficult, although I believe this is not a common occurrence. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was pleasant. I highly recommend trying the Chicken Pot Pie and Fish and Chips. Overall, I would give this restaurant a 4 out of 5 for food, 5 out of 5 for service, and 4 out of 5 for atmosphere. The price per person was between £10-£20 for dinner."

"the compton cross not to be confused with the coach and horses on the Greek road, 250m away. this little shepherd neame pub is a room motto. dark wood and tiled interieur, and a great corner for people watching. sometimes very busy because of the nearby theater and after work drinks, but quieter and cozy at lunchtime, especially because they do not sell eating or hot drinks. a friendly reception (heating on laura! and good selection of ales, craft beer and spirituosen."
