Savory chicken stew with tender vegetables in a flaky, buttery crust.

"We visited on Saturday night and must say that our waitress, Danielle, was absolutely fantastic. She went above and beyond for my partner and me. We ordered the chicken burger and the fillet steak, along with the mini crumble and mini brownie for dessert. We're looking forward to coming back and hope Danielle will be there to take care of us again when we return! We felt quite sorry for her, though, as she seemed to have a difficult table causing all sorts of issues. Price per person: £20–30."

"Excellent place with cosy country pub vibe. We're regulars here these days as you can rely on good wine and excellent food (the schnitzel and fish n chips are to die for). The staff are really friendly and the service is great. If you can get a seat beside the log fire that really adds to a cosy night. Definitely recommend. We've also booked for Christmas day as last year was great! Dietary restrictions: Veggie options are lovely Food: 5"

"visited on a Sunday lunch time and it was very quiet with only 3 other tables occupied when we arrived. first, the eating out of the way that this was ok with the only annoying bit that they did not get the 2 items we ordered at the same time, 1 pizza and 1 part of the tattoo (this came almost 5 minutes after the pizza) and we noticed this with a different table than. there were 2 young in the kitchen area, one of which seemed not to be disturbed to actually work when there were accusations and more concerned to get yourself and others a coffee and to have a chat and sort his hair, did not see him wash his hands before he went back in the kitchen after his hair. there was a front of the houseman who was more interested in his phone and played with the knife sharper. it looked as if the manager entered the kitchen to help with the commands, but it seemed that he only cooked his own lunch, so we didn't disturb him about what we saw.! I will say that the other front of the housemaid (blondes hair, shirt dressed up), the guy behind the bar and the other kitchen man were all good."

"So confused by some of these reviews that they’ve prompted me to write my own. My family and I love coming here. Lovely outdoor space to sit in the sun with our dog having a drink and some dinner, and they even cater for dogs! Really friendly staff (we especially love the older lady sorry for calling you older, only because most are very young and good food (one of the best cheese and onion pies ever the kids and I are particularly cheese and onion pie connoisseurs! . You need to scan a QR code for free car parking when you arrive, which staff usually tell you when you first get there but there are also plenty of signs and even one on the menus. I’m not sure what more people want. We’ll certainly be happy to keep coming back"

"Loved going to this place over the years especially on cold winter evenings so booked to go with friends for a birthday pie ! Specifically asked for the corner table by the fire in the bar area when booking so was really disappointed to be...shown into the other side on arrival There used to be a fire in there too but now that’s not in use and blocked off by a table and even the radiator near the door wasn’t on so it was a very poor and cold experience especially when people arrived or left ! Even the pies aren’t the same. I think half half is now more like two thirds (veg) to one third (filling) and my cauliflower was definitely a plain white sauce and not the once delicious cheese sauce. The service was pushy and rushed from the minute we walked in and seemingly couldn’t wait to get us out just after It’s going to be some time before we contemplate a return based on that experience such a shame to lose one of our most trusted “go to” winter haunts. !"

"This small taverna is fantastic. The food was incredible. As someone who is gluten free, I was impressed with how knowledgeable and accommodating both servers were. We ordered the mixed meze and not only was the food delicious, but there was a generous amount of it. I might have to go up a jean size after this meal! I will definitely come back to this place."

"When I booked a table for our Christmas meal in October I was told the Christmas menu had not yet been decided but there would be one. I heard nothing until the week before when someone from the pub rang to confirm our booking. They said that there would be no Christmas menu because we had not pre-ordered or paid a deposit but there would be options like duck a l’orange and rack of lamb. When we arrived the menu consisted of bought in Pie-Minster pies, hunters chicken and scampi and their homemade Pirate pies, which were supposed to be a take on the old Desperate Dan pies of old. 3 ordered the Pie-minster pies, which were nice. 2 of us ordered the Pirate pies which were supposed to be a meat and vegetable stew with pastry top. I don’t know how they did it but when they arrived they were scalding hot yet the chantenay carrots were raw or barely cooked. What little meat there was was tough as old boots. You even had to order chips as a side dish! How they had the nerve to charge £16.95 for that meal beggars belief. We used to go to the Little Pack Horse regularly before covid when the food used to be really good quality. If they don’t improve quickly they are doomed."

"this is a beautiful old restaurant at the river bank, but unfortunately was closed what I was very surprised at seemingly the bar and the restaurant are closed on the afternoon in view of the beautiful location and the fact that there were many people gathered on the river bank, I am quite surprised! missing opportunity on a beautiful sunny afternoon a nice long drink or two would have made for a relaxing time"

"I have been here a few times for lunches with friends, celebrate my birthday with a few friends (12) with hot drinks diff yummy cakes (March 2022). Good choice lunch menu we had tuna sandwiches smoothies. Staff lovely can't do enough for you. Thanks to Lily(who is off to Uni) Biancia who changed gluten free pasta kids menu to fish fingers as pasta stuck like glue..... needs to have boiling water poured on top onced cooked little olive oil over it, but tom sauce needed some cheese on top too. We had burger, quiche mushroom bacon very yummy X 2, hot/cold drinks, cakes were lovely too, toffee, coffee walnut, but I had the bake well tart as it has least cals..... Don't forget to get your reward card stamped with your hot drinks as get a free 1 after 10 stamps. Thanks to all the staff sorry forgotten your names..... Garden centre lovely to walk around in/out door, fab gifts too. Plenty of free parking too."

"I only stopped by for a drink and a snack. The restaurant was warm and cozy on a cold day. Despite the trains not running, the place was quite busy. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, which was convenient for my wife who uses a mobility scooter. There were a few entrances that made access easy. The service was good, and the food was delicious. Overall, I would rate the food and service a 4 out of 5, and the atmosphere a 5 out of 5. The price per person was between £1-10."

"Three out of six of us ordered the Sunday Roast, and although all the food was fantastic, I have to say that this was the best roast dinner I have had locally in a long time. The food arrived about 20 minutes after ordering, even though we had expected a longer wait due to the restaurant being busy. The pork was cooked to perfection and was incredibly tender, with crispy potatoes and a variety of vegetables such as parsnips, carrots, broccoli, and cabbage. The meal also included delicious homemade Yorkshire puddings and gravy. The portion size was extremely generous and while I struggled to finish it all, the food was so good that I couldn't bring myself to leave any behind. I would highly recommend this restaurant to others looking for a great dining experience."

"in soho, just a few meters from the top of some of the best theater londons, is the nudelhaus. a restaurant that wants to combine the rest of the Asian teehouses that inspired it with the vibration of the flourishing street food stands. she wants to bring the tantalizing taste from Southeast Asia to the west end of london. the question is, have they cracked it and only reaches that?the nudelhaus aims to combine rest of a teehouse with the vibration of street food stands. these two dinge, calm and dizzy vibrator seem strange to each other, but somehow the nudelhaus has perfectly combined the two. the nudelhaus in soho manages to create the bozz and rest after which they are, but some of the aromes that I expected to do in Asia lacked. it is not far away and if they are in the opposite, whether they visit the theatre or not, the nudelhaus is definitely worth jumping in!"

"Took my friend to try out Scottish hospitality that’s relaxed and friendly, with honest food. I’ve wandered past The Criterion a few times over the years….well I’m an idiot for not going in here before! We went for the fish and chips, and the portions are very generous, with a piping hot piece of battered haddock cooked to perfection. We saw the pies going to the other tables……they know what they’re doing here. Great ambiance as happy punters filled the place very quickly. The service was absolutely spot on from the ladies who attended to us, special mention to Sophie who made the best Irish coffee ever and made some recommendations to my friend about places to visit whilst we pottered around St Andrews for the day. We loved it!"

"I stayed overnight at this charming mill and pub built in 1757, which has been modernized to ensure a comfortable experience. The menu was surprisingly diverse and exceeded the usual offerings. I highly recommend the slow-cooked pork belly accompanied by dauphinoise potatoes. The dessert menu is extensive, with all items priced reasonably. The service was also excellent, with friendly smiles throughout. In the morning, we enjoyed a full English breakfast before heading out for a walk in Blakeney, followed by a long journey back home to West Sussex."

"A cafe by the Bus Stop in Selby. The food was good. The service was excellent. Had a BLT and a Chip Buttie which I’d basically chips on a bun. Must be considered a vegan dish. The chips and bun were fresh. The BLT was flavourful. Good price for a fast lunch at a bus stop. Also had a coffee which was worth the money. Next time we are travelling through I’ll have to try something more substantial. The menu had much to offer Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £1–10 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4"

"This pub has undergone multiple changes in recent years, pre COVID it had a long term manager/owner in place then a shift in the team running it and it suffered as a result. Now with the person in charge making the short jump from the North Pole (East Malling) it is happily and rapidly regaining much of its previous appeal. A welcome shift indeed, long may it last. This pub has atmosphere and charm and plenty of parking now with good food, plenty of parking and friendly staff. I have visited it over many years and am pleased to say that will continue. "We have had meals and drinks at this pub/ restaurant on a few occasions and never had a bad meal. However this time there were a couple of dogs in the eating area, one of which was quite big and every now and again would let out a very loud bark. We are ok with pets in pubs, but not in the eating areas please, it is quite off putting."
