"I regularly order from Baba's as they're always so consistent and it's really great value, especially for veggies. If you're looking for something a bit different I also recommend the Veg Kofta Ball curry which is unlike anything I've had anywhere else it's kinda like a falafel made from paneer in a lovely rich sauce. Highly recommended! Moreover, the whole menu is super reasonably priced. A large rice is less than £3 and is more than enough for 2 people second helpings the potato/paneer side dishes are large enough that they can be eaten as a main. This isn't fine dining but it's flavourful, well priced takeaway grub."

"My favourite Indian in Basingstoke! What can I say about Tuli to do it justice? Whether eating in or having a takeaway you will not be disappointed."

"Takeaway came fast and food seemed nice. The portions were small compared with others. The big problem was my paneer makhani, a veggie dish, had a few small pieces of chicken in the sauce. Not the first time this has happened to me from Kadai Naan, so I assume they use chicken stock or something in the sauce, meaning the veggie dishes are not veggie. Called to ask, and they claimed there was no meat used, and then asked me why I had ordered chicken dishes if I was veggie (the order was for 2 people) Based on this I 'd say veggies steer clear, as it completely ruined my 'treat ' after a hard week."

"The food was incredibly tasty and had great options for vegans and vegetarians. I am vegan and my partner is vegetarian. He initially ordered naan bread for himself, but I knew it contained butter. The server was very friendly and happily swapped it out for a vegan version so I could enjoy it too. The staff were all wonderful and the service was fantastic. We are looking forward to coming back again!"

"I would rate IMLI 2.5 stars. The food was delicious and deserves 4 stars, but unfortunately the service was lacking and indifferent, earning it a 0-star rating. We arrived around 9:45 pm."

"The food at this restaurant was delicious, but unfortunately, the nan bread was disappointing as it was flat and chewy instead of puffy and crisp. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was nice for a dinner setting. The price per person was around £70–80. Overall, I would rate the food a 4, service a 5, and atmosphere a 4. I would recommend trying the Chicken Tikka Masala."

"The food at this restaurant is delicious and fresh. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the mixed grill and chapli kebab were. I didn't experience any issues with my meal, but I have to deduct a star because the restaurant doesn't seem very clean and the wait times can be long during busy periods."

"I booked The Green Tree for my birthday celebration with my twin brother and family, and it was our first time there. The food was absolutely fantastic - the best Indian food I've had in a while. The staff were very attentive, friendly, and patient with us (there were 10 of us, including 3 children). Marisha, in particular, was professional, friendly, and made sure everyone got exactly what they had ordered. The whole family really enjoyed the experience. I highly recommend this place - don't miss out on it!"

"I had a hospital appointment and was looking for somewhere for lunch nearby after for my mum's birthday. I find it hard to book restaurants due to my dietary requirements but was very happy to see both gluten free and dairy free clearly labelled on the menu. The food did not disappoint. I'm usually left with one or two options if I'm lucky on the menu but I found there were so many options. The food tasted fresh, well made and with plenty of flavour. There were so many choices on the menu with different dishes from different influences which I loved. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive and polite. The alcohol free drink options were excellent and I had a mocktail which was a wonderful change from the standard soft drinks many restaurants offer. If you live nearby or are passing through I would thoroughly recommend visiting this restaurant. Delicious food and great service."

"I loved this place. Terrific curries (I had the chicken tikka masala, my brother in law a lamb rogan josh). We both agreed it was the best curry we'd had in a very long time, and I've been to some fancy and famous high price places. This was so reasonably priced and beat those other ones hands down. Oh and the crispy wings are to die for! The staff were brilliant too, so friendly. And I liked the way you're eating in a relaxed pub atmosphere, no fancy frills, just sheer quality and great value. Go there if you can, you won't regret it."

"I visited Gurkha Sizzler last night with a friend before heading to a gig. Since I'm not from Huddersfield, I relied on Google reviews to help me choose a restaurant, and I knew we were craving curry! We didn't make a reservation, but the friendly waitress accommodated us without any hassle. I've been to some much fancier Indian restaurants lately, but looks can be misleading; I couldn’t fault the service here, and the food was truly exceptional. I had the Matar Paneer, and my friend ordered the Chicken Biryani, both of which were excellent, along with some ice-cold bottles of Gurkha Lager. I absolutely loved it and would go back in a heartbeat!"

"I used to come to this spot with my mum and dad about 18 years ago and I’m so glad it’s kept its overall outstanding service. I have been about 6 times over the past 12 months (once for Christmas Day) and they never disappoint. The management and staff are so friendly and welcoming and the food is always amazing. Keep up the great work guys and I will see you again once I have lost a few pounds."

"I was curious to go first after kamal as I went vegan, since I was there all the time when I was vegetarian and I really loved eating and the atmosphere. we were mainly served by a just waitress that I realized from her work there when I had visited before. I always found her very pleasant, but at this visit she was very rude from the beginning. I understand that people have bad days, but they just didn't seem to worry, never smiled or said thank you and seemed chewing gum when she served us. I asked them about vegan options, as there was a declaration before the menu to ask about vegan food and I had also seen really great reviews on travel advisors. When I asked her, she looked at me and replied, I don't know. without cream like sweet curry or chicken curry. I don't think I could hide my disappointment, so she said she'd go to the kitchen to ask. I then saw her walking around in the restaurant and didn't see her at all near the kitchen. she came back and said: her vegetable curry and maybe, I don't know, balti? I decided it would be safer to go with the sweet curry that was in order, but essentially frozen vegetables cooked in the watery curry. the rice was the best part of the meal. my sister ordered two vegetarian dishes that looked much better. the only redeeming factor of the visit was a second waitress, which served us and a man at the reception, who were very pleasant. I am so disappointed about this experience because, as I said, I had always come to kamal and had a great atmosphere earlier. I was worried that we wouldn't even get a table on a Saturday night, but there was another couple when we arrived and one when we were gone. the service was quite shocking and I think if they advertise as vegan options, then this must be more than a herbal curry. I am not sure, however, whether this was the fault of the kitchen or the waitress, which did not interfere in the least about the question. I really hope that kamal’s will improve, as I would like to go back sometime and have the dishes and experiences I loved earlier!"

"Rating: I recently had the opportunity to visit The Crooked Billet, and I must say that my overall impressions were positive. Here's a breakdown of my experience at this pub: Atmosphere and Seating: The pub boasts a pleasant ambiance, especially with its good outdoor seating options. The area surrounding the pub is peaceful, creating a relaxed environment for enjoying a drink or a meal. It's an ideal spot if you're looking for a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Staff: The bar staff were friendly and welcoming, which added to the positive atmosphere. They provided attentive service and were knowledgeable about the drink options available. Their warm demeanor contributed to a pleasant experience overall. Drink Prices: I found the drink prices at The Crooked Billet to be reasonable and in line with my expectations for a pub in the area. It's always reassuring when the prices match the quality and atmosphere of the establishment. Food: Unfortunately, I didn't have the chance to try the food during my visit, but based on my positive experience with the other aspects of the pub, I'm inclined to return and give it a try in the future. In conclusion, The Crooked Billet is a nice pub located in a peaceful area, offering good outdoor seating and a friendly bar staff. "This restaurant feels like a blast from the past, stuck in the 1980s with tired decor and a lack of atmosphere. The menu is uninspired, serving traditional dishes like Madras and Vindaloo that have fallen out of favor in more modern Indian restaurants with exciting flavors and vibrant dishes. The food was mediocre, with tough and chewy seekh kebabs, a overly sweet Peshawari dish, and roti that tasted like nan. The only highlight was the delicious homemade chips. The service was decent, but with few customers, it's hard to recommend this place. And to top it off, the card machine was broken, so cash or bank transfer is the only payment option. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again."
