"This is the best Chinese restaurant my wife and I have ever visited (and we've been to a lot). The food quality was exceptional - Michelin Star quality in both taste and presentation. They even provided a child seat for our 8-month-old baby. I had the handmade herbal spring rolls as a starter and the seafood in truffle sauce for the main course. The drink selection was also good. While the prices were high, they were expected given the high quality of the food."

I decided to go to oriental city before the cross stamford street. the oriental city restaurant is part of the Sing-Ying group, which imports everything and everything oriental in the northern englands. they say their chefs from hongkong have over 40 years experience in the kitchens that produce their cantonese and Sichuan dishes. the restaurant was opened in 2007, but I had never heard of the place until I had read something a month ago, I used my Sat-Nav to find my way there, as I would probably have been lost in sheepscar. from the road they would never really guess that it is there as the building it in double as Chinese super market, probably the largest in leeds. IMG_3955 the parking lot is very small and I was happy that I could squeeze my tiny car in a small space. the restaurant is located in the first floor and when entering I saw a large dimly-lit room, with its black flowing ceiling and many of the usual large round tables with the rotating upper sides for large"

Apart from us there were over 20 other patrons, all Chinese. Obviously you feel reassured of food quality if actual Chinese people are frequenting the restaurant and having a good time. If I had to picky, I'd say the main waiter, with the ear ring!, needs to cheer up a little. At least look like you enjoy the job mate...."

"I've never been here and never again. We were 1 out of 3 tables on Saturday night and I can see why. The concept of eating as much as you want for a certain price, we ordered six starters, the ribs were chewing and the spring rolls inspected. The net came and our guest had to spit out his pig when he couldn't swallow it. My chicken with spring onions and ginger was called, I sweated all night and prayed not to be sick. If I had paid for this meal, I would have told the owners what I thought, but our friends who pick up the tab are too friendly."

"The service was prompt, though the food arrived slightly cold. However, it tasted great (even my picky cats enjoyed my dish, as well as the beef and mushroom combo starter). The starter plate was a good deal and just the right portion size. If I had to suggest an improvement, it would be to add more vegetables to the baked rice dish, as it felt more like plain cooked rice. "I’ve never been so disappointed at a restaurant, and I won’t be returning. We were one of only three tables on a Saturday night, and it was easy to see why. The idea of all-you-can-eat for a set price sounded appealing, but the execution was lacking. We ordered six starters, and the ribs were tough while the spring rolls were underwhelming. When the main course arrived, one of my friends struggled to eat his dish. My chicken with spring onions and ginger was overwhelming, leaving me sweating all night and worried about feeling ill. "I had a pleasant dining experience here. The price was a bit high at $12 per person, but it was a Sunday night. I ordered early rolls with chili and scallions, as well as fried rice. I was not offered water when I sat down, but when I asked for it, I was given a small glass and not offered a refill. The food came out quickly, which made me question its freshness. The restaurant had a strong odor and felt stuffy - they should consider opening a window for fresh air. Despite these issues, the food was delicious and exactly what I wanted. I will likely return for their lunch specials in the future. The servers were kind, but could improve by paying closer attention to their customers."

"Ordered the crispy chicken chow mein (tasteless, no flavour at all), satay chicken skewers (sauce was mostly oil, didn’t taste like peanuts at all, chicken was dry and chewy), special curry (nothing special about it, didn’t taste like curry, more floury than curry. Chicken was dry. Pork was chewy and tasteless. Had to add own seasonings to make it palatable), prawn toast and spring rolls were average. Overall an extremely disappointing experience from a usually great place, gone very downhill."
