"Have been here several times and always go for the evening buffet. Which you can do at lunch or dinner time. It £29.99 a person but you can eat, as much as you like. The portions are small which is great as it means you can have lots of different things rather than the masses they give you when you order a take away. Service is always good, food hot and delicious. Really recommend. "I am writing this review on behalf of my Grandparents, who ordered a meal to accommodate 4 people from this establishment for their 2020 Christmas dinner. When trying to complain, the Manager was abrupt, dismissive, rude and only expressed an interest in the complaint when my Grandmother mentioned that she had taken photos of the food in question. This is a very lengthy review, but I would urge people to read to the end , as my Grandparents have experienced appalling service from the manager of this establishment, and people need to know about this. They ordered paid for 4 meals and starters over the phone. Upon collection of the order, it was clear that the order was incorrect and not up to a satisfactory standard for example the rice orders were wrong (3 fried rice instead of boiled rice some kind of congealed pineapple chicken dish was supplied instead of lemon chicken, the chicken omelette was salty and soggy as it had so much oil in the container, and the chips were very dry and salty. Not worth a penny paid, or worth the trouble my Grandfather took to drive to collect the order . As mentioned above, the manager was very abrupt and dismissive of my Grandmother 's complaint (his initial response being what do you want me to do about that .......Even though he could see this had ruined their Christmas meal (this was supposed to be a rest for my Grandmother who cooks the other 364 days of the year . He was very keen for my Grandmother to throw the food away, she offered numerous times to return it to his establishment, but his reply each time was to throw the food away. When my Grandmother mentioned that she had taken photos, and then went onto mention that she could post the photos on the internet, the manager suddenly changed his tune. After a lengthy phone call, it was agreed that another order could be placed, free of charge for 1st January 2021. My grandmother checked again to see if the manager wanted to see the food as proof he said that he didn 't want to see it, and they agreed that my Grandfather would collect at an agreed time. On 1st January my Grandfather arrived at the agreed time, and nobody answered the door. Eventually somebody answered, and the manager was summoned. He asked to see proof of the original order, and so my Grandfather (bear in mind we are talking about a couple who are in their 70 's went back to his car, got his phone and took it back to show to the manager the photos. The manager 's response being nice photos no food and sent my Grandfather away. In the freezing cold, on New Year 's Day. Utterly disgusting treatment of a formally loyal customer. On the upside, my Grandfather happened to notice that another establishment nearby was open Wok Wok. Even though he hadn 't placed an order with them in advance they very kindly offered to cook his food to order if he didn 't mind waiting. Their food was perfect, their service was second to none and my grandparents are delighted to have found a new Chinese take away that respects and appreciates their custom. So, in the words of my Grandmother goodbye Golden Crown and hello Wok Wok."

"They do accommodation too now. a night, that seems slightly pricey for a room in a Chinese restaurant but it’s for and all that so must be because it’s saving the planet. I heard that Greta lassie is staying here. She loves Salt “N” Chilli chicken “N” chips can’t get it in Sweden seemingly, she doesn’t like banana fritters though cause of the carbon footprint associated with shipping them from Columbia. Seems as if everything from Columbia now a days is illegal, immoral or fattening. Anyway, rooms get yourself down there grab a bargain."

"Firstly, its not just a Chinese restaurant..... you can buy a whole range of oriental and spicy dishes.The service is exemplary, it even makes me smile upon leaving the the matredee (sp) always says Goodby Mr XXXXX to my husband, and that was from the very first time! its these little touches and the instamatic prawn crackers that you remember.Saying that, the food is beautiful and the surroundings pleasent, so I wouldn't doubt your enjoyment....Becareful at weekends though because downstairs opens as a bar and produce a little bit of hubub. I say go for it, you will be pleasently surprised."

The noodles were well-prepared and held together nicely. The tofu dish had a strange taste, different from what I expected. "Fantastic western Chinese restaurant situated next to the Bull pub. They offer an all you can eat option on certain days (as long as you finish what you order and don't leave uneaten dishes or they'll charge extra, which is more than fair). The food is very tasty and well prepared and the portions are just right. All the classics are there such as crispy chilli beef, kung po chicken etc. Food comes out quickly, but sometimes you are left waiting for dishes, when it would be preferable if they all arrived at once, but a small niggle and probably unavoidable. Again, great western Chinese cuisine at a good price, recommended."

"I always got my Chinese meal from here for years but over the last 16 months there is constantly something missing so you have to go back down to collect it. The food is cold on delivery. This recent order had pancakes missing for a half a duck on a order of 60 pound that hardly feed 2 adults and 2 children and we are not big eaters. Portions have become extremely small. I called to collect the pancakes and they treated me as if I was making it up. Got them home and there was SIX pancakes for half a duck. I will be finding another Chinese takeaway to order from as I have given them chance after chance. Very poor indeed and not worth the money."

"Me and my friend where starving and I mean STARVING so we decided to give this Chinese a chance, firstly I walked into the shop to see the place was slightly a mess but that didn’t bother me as much as I was hungry, we got home opening our food excitingly as it smelled pleasant, I opened it to discover hell. I ordered a chicken chow main and it was like jelly, even my dog wouldn’t go near it, secondly I got s&p chicken and my mooth was on fireeeee but there was no flavour just spicy, and the chicken was rubber, the curry sauce came in a huge tub and tasted like it was store bought, the chips you only get 6, and the prawn crackers where low-key mid, I will NOT be back here again to pearl of honking now I have depression and have been prescribed anti depression and I have healthy dioreha."
