"This fantastic little restaurant is hidden in a shopping center. The cakes are freshly imported from a large wood stove in Italy, so they are both delicious and affordable. There are plenty of options on the menu that I have never seen in Scotland. The owners and staff are friendly and chatty. We tried a variety of cakes and sides, all of which were delicious. The highlights were the olive cake and baba ghanoush. I highly recommend this place."

"as sad as it sounds, I try to have a kebab at every place I visit. from the sheraton over the street where I stayed and I was certainly not disappointed. had a long conversation with the owner who was a very pleasant guy, ordered the mixed thunder lamb and huh he made me his special salat to go with him balsamikum and olive oil dressing and I must say the whole meal was probably the best I ever had. next time I'm in edinburgh, I know where I'm going."

"Yesterday we decided to give the New Gulistan a try and placed an order at 5.10 for a set meal for 2..We patiently waited until 6.20 and then my husband called to cancel the delivery only to be told it had already left and was on its way. At 6.50 after it had been cancelled,the delivery guy knocked at the door with the food, which had to be freezing cold after being driven all around for more than half an hour.We live 600 meters away from the restaurant. Disappointed is an understatement, we heard good things and now well never get to try it."

"So last night we ordered from Milano pizza on Ormskirk road. Ordered food at 7.15, told it would be no later than 50 minutes. Called back at 8.20 and they said it would be 10 minutes and that they were busy. We were promised two free cans of Pepsi for the delay. Food arrived cold at 8.55, they sent one can of Pepsi not two and they had the nerve to charge us for the Pepsi they'd said would be free! Upon closer inspection half of the order was missing, chips were cold and soggy, the chicken tandoori kebab was burnt and had brown wilted lettuce on it and the garlic bread was freezing. When we rang to complain the person answering the phone had the nerve to say our order hadn't even been delivered yet! They sent us more chips the missing food, and when Matt gave the cold food back to their delivery driver the bloke threw it all over the road in front of our house, and the receipt from our order was with the rubbish so they can't even deny that they did it! Won't ever be ordering from them again"

"Upon placing my delivery order over the phone, the food arrived promptly. During the phone order, the representative confirmed our postcode twice, which was accurate. However, the delivery driver's conduct was unpleasant. Despite having lived at the same address for years, he insisted that the postcode given was incorrect and struggled to understand my directions. The driver then proceeded to speak on the phone with the manager or someone else without saying goodbye while driving around for several minutes trying to search for our address. In the past, I have never had any problems with courier services or food delivery. Although the food was quite enjoyable, I am uncertain if I will order from this restaurant again. After reading other reviews, it appears that the owner is disregarding the comments and merely reiterating the benefits of online ordering and savings to all of the customers, which is surprising."

"What a charming, vintage establishment. There is a lot to discover spread out over two floors. The building also houses a print museum. The two gentlemen at the front desk were welcoming and accommodating. I purchased a few items and received a nice discount. The goods were carefully wrapped and brought out to my car. I was really excited to go to go for my birthday as I love italy and Italian food, but I was totally disapionted left, there were 12 of us in our party and eventho the seafood star was nice the main was terrible the pasta dishes were totally tasteless and tasted more like pasta in water 1 guests for medium too well made it came blue! the waiters were rude, they seemed uninterested in us and began to clean cute of the table while we still eat: I would never go back or guess either I can cook better Italian myself!"
