"We made a reservation for the tasting menu and wine pairing at this restaurant. It was a birthday celebration and an intimate dinner for two. We started by having cocktails in the lounge, and mine was one of the best I've had in years - subtle, delicate, and lovely. The service was exceptional, with each dish being introduced and presented beautifully. We ended the meal with coffee and a nightcap in the lounge. I couldn't find any faults at all - this place deserves high praise. The restaurant is located on a peaceful woodland estate with easy access to the A1M and Scotch Corner intersection. While I highly recommend it, I worry it will become too popular to get a table! The ambiance was perfect and it's amazing to have such quality just a short drive away. MLE, please don't change a thing."

"This restaurant is a true hidden gem, conveniently accessible yet feeling like a completely different world. The transformation of the old estate into a stylish modern hospitality venue is impressive, complemented by excellent food and outstanding service. We celebrated my mum’s birthday here, and the experience felt genuinely special. My only disappointment was that the waitstaff were still wearing masks, which I feel diminishes the personal touch in service and isn’t really necessary. Otherwise, I would give it top marks!"

"This restaurant is a hidden gem that is incredibly easy to get to, but feels like a world apart. The old estate has been stylishly renovated into a modern hospitality venue with excellent dining and service. We visited for my mother's birthday party and it felt very special. My only disappointment was that the waiters were still wearing masks, which I personally feel reduces the humanity of the service and is unnecessary. Otherwise, top marks."

"the hotel was absolutely perfect in any view. the only side was loud construction work outside our room, we were right next to the scaffold and the drilling. my enkelin complained when the holes went on to 5. the personal offered to move us into another room, but we had all started preparing at this point so it was not an option. they surprised us with a beautiful dinner of cheese bus kites and dived left in our room and very appreciated after drowning in the amount on the way back from adele concert. everything else perfect the personal, bar, eating and spa facilities very comfortable stay."

"We came here on Sunday for my Nan's birthday as a family of 7. We were mainly served by Dan (who was brilliant) with the occasional visit from the lovely waitress and the waiter with long, dark hair. I've described them because they really do deserve recognition for how wonderful their service is. We were greeted with a birthday card from the team for my nan, which was such a lovely touch, and attentive, warm and friendly service throughout. The food was fantastic. We had a mixture of the steak, chicken salad and fish pie. All perfect! The food is always good here. The apple dessert to share is by far the best dessert I've ever tried. My Nan has dementia and this restaurant is a safe place for us as it's familiar, consistently good, and even at its busiest it runs so smoothly that you don't realise just how busy they are. She was so relaxed, so happy and enjoyed every moment of it. Including the birthday plate and candle they brought out for her. I'm so grateful for how special the team made our Nan's birthday. Thank you so much!"

"Booked fairly last minute and got a table for 4. We ordered 2 x chicken burgers, 1 x steak and carbonara with garlic bread. Food was really nice to be fair! No option for peppercorn sauce BUT it’s an Italian so can’t be expected. Dessert we had brownies and fondant, really nice can’t be faulted. Didn’t catch our waitresses name, but she was blonde and pregnant so nice, really kind and welcoming to us. Good value for money, for a drink each; meal each (including steak) two sides and 4 desserts £150. Can’t fault it."

"We arrived to chaos, 2 young members of staff left to run the tables. They (in spite of trying hard, so I’m absolutely not criticising them!! were struggling to manage. The tables were dirty , no one came to seat us until we went and asked. They were literally running from table to table trying to deliver food and sort bills. The ladies toilet had a blocked sink that was full of filthy water and unusable. We had to ask for menus and weren’t offered any drinks . I must restate that they were simply too busy/under staffed and it wasn’t lack of effort from them! We decided to leave and the waitress was so apologetic, we reassured her it wasn’t her fault. Terrible experience and one I’ve never had before in Carlucchios. We would not recommend!"

"One of the first things I check for when organizing a trip to a new bar is the variety of wines available by the glass, which all too often is a poor thing indeed. I’ve had a thing for Ruinart for a long while now, but there are so few people I meet who enjoy Champagne enough to splurge on it by the bottle and, until it closed last week, Rex and Mariano was one of the few places that understood my inner struggle and offered flutes of Ruinart Brut. I’ve not had any luck since then, but in a fortuitous turn of events it is while organizing a drinks meet up that I come across The Booking Office in The St Pancras Renaissance Hotel with its enviable glasses of both Ruinart and Veuve Cliquot, two Champagnes who share a similar flavour profile of buttery brioche, vanilla and white fruits. With a reservation going at the perfect time on the perfect night, this is too good a find to let pass."

"It was great to see Eluert W recognize us after such a long time. He made us feel welcome and provided excellent service. We had a wonderful meal, reminiscent of Carluccio’s. It was also a nice touch that we could take advantage of the 50% discount currently offered to loyal customers. We enjoyed the chicken saltimbocca, beef ragu pappardelle, and limoncello tart."

"I had lunch here at the weekend with 6 members of my family, and 4 of us are vegan. We chose this restaurant because it has “vegan” options. When we asked about the vegan burger and chips, we were told that the chips are cooked in the same oil as meat, so they are not vegan. I found this quite concerning, as I couldn’t trust the menu after that. The manager was very polite about it, and she assured us that the menu would be changed, which I really hope it is. "Bury St Edmunds is bustling. Couldn't get a table anywhere. Got one at Carluccios. Now I saw why. I used to love this restaurant back in the day. But since the takeover it's got worse and worse. Tonight was a combination of the most lacklustre of services and average food. The menu has been reduced dramatically but even then, one of the starters wasn't available. My wife asked for her favourite the Penne Giardiniere but the spinach balls weren't available. She was offered chicken instead despite it being a vegetarian dish. The waitress/manager never asked if we had any allergies either! Throughout the meal, our empty cans and glasses stood and we're never cleared. We weren't even asked if we wanted more drinks! Considering they need to sell as much as possible, this was crazy. We would have ordered more but apart from asking once as to how our meal was, there was no interest in our table. The Cannoli dessert was squidgy instead of crispy and comped. Worst of all, the manager had accidentally charged us for an entire bottle of Prosecco for £35.00 instead of the single glass £7.50. This was taken off with a brief apology but she did not seem to really care about such a spectacular mistake. It could have easily been overlooked in a bill for 5 people. It was almost a mistake too difficult to make by accident. The decor has been neglected. Most of the light bulbs are dead or hanging out of the sockets. The restaurant was near empty when we left at 21:30pm. The staff were cleaning and tidying up most of the time. In fact, they did this with more intent than checking on the customers. It will be interesting to see what restaurant moves in next."

"I’m afraid we were a bit disappointed as rhe portion of pasta spinach balls definitely seemed smaller than usual despite the fact that new plates were blamed for giving the impression that the portion was smaller. The lasagna was not hot and had to be remade. The edges of the lasagna were very crispy and this is most unusual. Lasagna is usually made in a small dish so that the edges don’t get crispy and the whole dish is served up on another plate. The centre of the lasagna was rather dry and dense. I recently had the same dish at the Cambridge branch and it was much nicer and authentic."
