"I have won a cocktail stand package for 4 people on facebook. must admit that I haven't been here for a few years, as I usually drink in the same 2 pubs from each other. we were all super impressed. the cocktails were amazing, eating, personal, service and atmosphere perfect. would be a great place for live jazz or someone who plays the piano! many thanks to brazz for a delightful evening. we will definitely come back."

"Booked for 2. Waiter asked for our order within 2 minutes of sitting down. Then came back to tell us the kitchen was closing early so we had to order then and there.. didn’t even get a chance to order drinks or read the menu. Ambiance was terrible, no one in there and morgue music. Ended up with some dry bread and oil. The best bit was the cold glass of the one drink we got. And to top it off had to pay service charge. Would not return or recommend to anyone. Says parking but is little to none."

"We were staying at the Principal Hotel and had dinner in The Refectory on our first night. The restaurant was quiet. We had a pleasant welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our starters. The main course (pork chop) was marred by sitting on a huge portion of red cabbage but otherwise very tasty. While we were eating our main courses, around 8.30pm, the staff first cleared all the lit candles from the unoccupied tables (i.e. the majority) and then removed the napkins and cutlery. They didn't start sweeping the floor or putting chairs on tables but we felt unwelcome and decided not to have a dessert or coffee. When we left, a door had to be unlocked to let us back into the hotel. This behaviour seems to us to be totally inappropriate in a fairly expensive restaurant and we would not use The Refectory again or recommend it."

"The food is good, standard-issue Pret fare and if that alone were being reviewed, this branch would scare a solid three-to-four stars. The problem is that kids from the nearby Isaac Newton sixth form college swoop in packs at lunchtimes, take over the space, nick all the spare chairs, spread out their laptops and linger for ages with a single coffee or juice per table while chewing through food they 've brought in from Greggs or McDonalds. I 've been caught out a few times and it 's extremely annoying to pay eating in rates and then find there is nowhere to sit. The loos are pretty grotty, too, which may not be unrelated to the issue above. I appreciate it might be a difficult issue for staff to resolve but this branch has to decide whether its a community hub or catering for customers who 've actually parted with more than a couple of quid."

"I recently visited this restaurant for the first time in a long time and it appears that there have been changes in management/staff. The service was terrible. The chef, an old and miserable man, didn't speak to us and looked at us with disdain. He took our order without saying a word and brought the food out without giving us plates. When I asked for plates, he pointed to small saucers on the table. When I asked for dinner plates, he walked off in a huff and came back with only one plate. Another customer came in and the old man rudely interrupted the young guy who seemed nice and chill. The food was mediocre with too much oil, salt, and undercooked meat. The place was dirty, with dirty cutlery and broken and dirty tables. This place should be closed down. I will not be returning. I rarely write negative reviews, but this place was unacceptable. I give it a 0/10."

"Have been here many times usually have the Breakfast Baguette, coffee sometimes fresh orange juice, which is not only delicious but extremely good value. There is a a wide selection of food on the menu, even snails or onion soup for breakfast if you fancy it, delicious cakes pastries, croques etc of all sorts. This is run by a French family with mostly French staff so they know what they are doing. Often very busy so service is sometimes similar to Gordon Ramsay 's kitchen, who coincidentally lives round the corner. Monsieur, who doesn 't suffer fools gladly, is sometimes quite 'French ' in his humour which some customers interpret as rudeness though I find very amusing quite refreshing! An unpretentious, entertaining down to earth menu of French food in Battersea."

"I am a HUGE Cote fan have gone on a regular basis for years with friends family in Glasgow London. Most recently in December Visited last night with friends was embarrassed as I chose to eat there booked telling them it was great tasty food, great value great wines. food was bland, not great, not a lot of it they only had 3 types of gin drinks were slow to come had to be chased on 3 occasions restaurant was only at best half full, so no idea why we had to continually chase drinks that did not arrive. I really don't enjoy posting this review as previously I have always enjoyed the food had a good dining experience liked the set menu a la carte choice. It looks like maybe the cost of living crisis has hit the chef recipes/ingredients/quality have dipped significantly. None of my friends had previously been to Cote so not a great experience for them on my recommendation"

"My first and last experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. I went with friends for a meal, but we were disappointed by the quality of the food. I ordered the beef short rib, which was tough and dry due to being a fatty cut. The dish lacked sauce and the vegetables were bland, though the Dauphinois potatoes were tasty. My wife ordered a rare flat iron steak, but it arrived medium rare and was tough to chew. When we brought this up to the staff, they initially claimed we should have ordered it differently, but eventually admitted the mistake. Despite this, they were unable to find a satisfactory solution, and my wife did not eat the steak. To make matters worse, when I received the bill for £200 for four people (including 1 main dish and 1.5 drinks per person), I was still charged for the uneaten steak. Reluctantly, I paid to avoid causing a scene with our guests. I was disappointed by both the food quality and the service response to our complaint, and we will not be returning. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £50–60 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2"

"like most people who are eaten with eating and eating, I am against chains in general. that is because they are through their natural places that have removed the whole heart and the soul and the idiosyncracy from them. the things we actually are looking for. it must be. everything is formulated in the rule and strictly regulated by the office. it is a system that works to a certain degree. I was trying to try the new côte brasserie. since the sad defeat of Relais de venise l' entrecôte last year, there is nowhere that I can go to know in the city for simple steakfrites. we just don't have the small local family leading French bistro to the corner that's been there for years, so where else is it? they couldn't afford the high-city rentals for a start. they can only afford to get in. (maybe we don't have a good tapas bar now until ibérica can move next year.)"

"The Gardeners pub is a hidden gem that is independently owned by the lovely couple, Patrick and Tracey. Unlike other pubs in the area that are owned by larger companies and lack character, The Gardeners stands out for its freshly prepared menu that rivals local restaurants in taste and variety. As a regular customer, I am thrilled to see this local pub gaining recognition for its delicious food, excellent service, and inviting atmosphere. It's the perfect spot to catch up with friends and enjoy a drink after a long dog walk. I highly recommend trying the truffled gnocchi for a light snack, or indulging in the schnitzel or pie for dinner – everything is simply delicious."

"Food was decent as usual) but the service left a lot to be desired. The wrong food was brought out on one occasion and then added to the bill even though no one had ordered it). One item was unavailable which meant two of our party had to reorder. Another item a very simple one) the trilogy was brought out after everyone else had been served. We then had to send the bill back three times as it was incorrect. Our waiters/waitresses were all very apologetic but it was overall a poor dining experience that spoilt a welcome lunch for a new member of our team. We have visited The Life Goddess a number of times for team lunches and never a had problem previously. Sadly, I don 't think we 'll be coming back in a hurry which is a real shame :"

"We arrived and were seated. There was some confusion with regards to having booked the pre theatre menu when we hadn’t. This went on for a while! Drinking water was already on the table with glasses for us. We ordered a lemonade and a glass of red wine. The red wine was nothing special yet cost nearly £9 for a small glass!!!! We both ordered pizzas as that’s all that was on the menu for mains. They were tasty and filling. Feeling stuffed one of us ordered a coffee but an espresso arrived which wasn’t what they wanted so it was sent back. We asked for the bill which was wrong so had to get it changed. They do add a service charge to the bill so be aware of that. All in all it was ok, nothing special. Would I go again... no."

"I REALLY WANTED TO LOVE THIS PLACE! If you know me, you'll know I'm a HUGE fan of juice. I juice a lot myself and juicing was what got my husband and myself into living a plant based diet. With that said, I think I know my juices from my smoothies pretty well. Now, as someone who doesn't carry cash I was disappointed when I went in on the first day and their card machine wasn't working. I could excuse it as it was their first day. I went back last week and again the card machine still wasn't working. I was desperate for juice as I had too much to drink the night before while most turn to a full breakfast I turn to juice to cure me! Anyway, I went away to get cash and came back. Now, there are a couple of things that bothered me... First, I think it was the manager that was there he seemed a bit stressed and there wasn't anyone there, so not sure what he was stressed about but it was slightly off putting. Second, I stood there waiting to order and a girl just smiled at me, it took someone coming from the back to come over to take my order. Weird. I placed my order and I watched the other girl make my juice, I was a bit annoyed that she barely put enough kale in to get any juice out of it. Kale needs to be juiced in bunches to get enough juice. THEN THIS HAPPENED: she juiced unwashed apples WITH THE STICKERS STILL ON THEM!! Now, as I said I had a lot to drink the night before so my reaction was a bit slow and I thought perhaps I was seeing things. That's when the other girl brought a box of apples and took them out and placed them in a basket that the girl was taking apples out of to juice. I didn't say anything at the time although I really wish I did! When you're juicing you're consuming the entire fruit so when the apple is unwashed you're ingesting everything on the skin. Yes I drank the juice, yes it was good. To be honest though I think the place is more style over substance and I rather just juice at home."

"Looking for a Portuguese restaurant for some home flavour food and found this restaurant online. Tried the Francesinha which is a very typical plate in Porto and was one of the best I ever hate (and the cooker is from Funchal, which makes it even more surprising : Good diversity on the menu, just missing a more affordable house wine! Restaurant has a nice decor and staff was very pleasant and always available. To the restaurant manager please update the cost of food on the online menus as they don't match what you have on your in house menu."

"I was a bit disappointed by this place its focus is supposed to be wine, but the person serving us couldn 't answer (or couldn 't be bothered to answer) even the most basic question about the wines on the menu! It was also disappointing to get a very small piece of one kind of cheese with a couple of thin toasts as a 'cheese plate '. On the positive side, the short (two main dish) hot food menu is a great idea, and the food was tasty. Maybe I hit the place on a bad night but I 'm not sure I 'd go back in a hurry."

"The Turkish lights and cosy, eclectic decor are always a welcome sight. Highbury is not the shores of the Sea of Marmara or ancient Nicaea, but İznik does a great job of getting you there! The food is fresh. imaginative, full of charm, surprises, and skill, and cooked to perfection. It is a real treat. The staff could not be kinder, friendlier, and more welcoming. A gem."

"Myself and my girlfriend were staying in Mallaig and arrived late and were turned away from another rest as it was 20:00 we saw the lights on up at the Terrace so thought we would try it out. upon arrival I could tell that we were just in time to make the cut off. The head waiter said they could accommodate and we were shown to our seats. The place was very nice, elegantly set up with great music selection. The staff were very attentive and friendly and were very helpful in choosing the right dish for pregnant GF. Julie was absolutely lovely and explained it was their first night opening again after a devastating arson attack shut them down. The food was very good, I had Cullen skink to start which was lovely as was the bread it was served with. My GF had deconstructed chicken cesar salad which was also lovely and an interesting interpretation of the dish. We both had braised beef with sautéed sprouts and truffle mash which was very nice. We also had a complimentary glass of Prosecco and a passion fruit sorbet as a pallet cleanser. Overall we loved our experience and the chef even popped out to make sure we were happy, he is clearly very capable and long may it continue! All the best guys, you deserve good fortune!"

"The photograph on Trip Advisor’s website of The Lamb’s cheeseburger French fries is entirely accurate but also entirely nauseating – a meat patty buried within a sloppy mess of stuff (see photo on this website) which, other than the cheese, we neither expected nor...requested. When trying to hold the bun and take a bite of it, the beef patty slithered out from its gunge onto the plate. Granted, there was a knife fork but what's the point of a cheeseburger if you can't grip the bun and bite into it? (Thinks: I wish I’d read Trip Advisor’s reviews on The Lamb in advance rather than afterwards. I would have just ordered a packet of crisps) On a positive note, we didn't throw up. Certainly we couldn't face eating again that evening we ended up sharing a tin of soup and a packet of crisps. The outdoor terrace was a pleasant spot for a lunchtime snack. The bill was (two cheeseburgers French fries at each plus for wine and fizzy water). Thinking positive, we saved money that evening by feeling too queasy to have more than a mug of soup and some crisps. Almost forgot: the French fries were excellent; what’s the betting they weren’t bought in?! The waitress service was pleasant. About two thirds of these “slopburger” were left on our respective plates. The waitress didn’t comment as they took away the plates. Fair enough- what could she possibly say? “I don’t blame you!” ? Next day I rang the manager or someone in charge to explain my disappointment, taking a gentle exploratory approach. To no avail. He insisted it was “a proper cheeseburger”. So maybe it’s me. Or maybe there’s a fine line between confidence and arrogance. Try it and see."
