"Myself and my girlfriend were staying in Mallaig and arrived late and were turned away from another rest as it was 20:00 we saw the lights on up at the Terrace so thought we would try it out. upon arrival I could tell that we were just in time to make the cut off. The head waiter said they could accommodate and we were shown to our seats. The place was very nice, elegantly set up with great music selection. The staff were very attentive and friendly and were very helpful in choosing the right dish for pregnant GF. Julie was absolutely lovely and explained it was their first night opening again after a devastating arson attack shut them down. The food was very good, I had Cullen skink to start which was lovely as was the bread it was served with. My GF had deconstructed chicken cesar salad which was also lovely and an interesting interpretation of the dish. We both had braised beef with sautéed sprouts and truffle mash which was very nice. We also had a complimentary glass of Prosecco and a passion fruit sorbet as a pallet cleanser. Overall we loved our experience and the chef even popped out to make sure we were happy, he is clearly very capable and long may it continue! All the best guys, you deserve good fortune!"

Shared the Fisherman’s Platter smoked salmon, pickled herring and grilled and seasoned hake plenty for two travelers. A pleasant dark cask ales topped things off nicely

I had a wonderful lunch at this restaurant, enjoying some coffee and cake in between catching my train and ferry. The view of the water was fantastic and the service was excellent. They even offered to store my suitcase out of the way.

This restaurant is in a lovely location. We had some seafood which was disappointing especially considering the location, a bottle of uninspiring wine, and the service was somewhere between casual and indifferent. Would go again for a coffee, but would find somewhere else to eat. View menu

Having arrived in Mallaig late afternoon and checked into The Moorings (highly recommended) we searched for a place to eat having not booked anywhere in advance. A number of places were full and some a bit noisy and eventually found the West Highland Hotel and The Terrace Restaurant. Great service from all of the staff and stunning views. Food was excellent and very reasonably priced

We was on the Jacobite train trip for the day and we had a 2 hour break/lunch in Mallaig. The weather was really wet and windy. We tried places for food as we were very hungry and very wet but everywhere was full to the brim. We reached The terrace, asked if they had a table and they luckily did. The staff were very nice and polite . The food was delicious. The place was fantastic with amazing views. I think we definitely saved the best till last! Thank you to all the staff at the terrace.

The interior of this restaurant is stunning, with a very accommodating staff and stunning views. The service we received was top-notch and the food was incredibly tasty. However, we wished there were more local options on the menu. The abundance of goujon, burger, and pizza choices seemed out of place for a restaurant in a seaside village. My special dish was disappointing, resembling plain pasta in a bowl with tomato sauce on top. It lacked that special touch. A side salad or a little extra something would have been a welcomed addition. View menu

While staying at the Mallaig Glamping Pods, we had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant located just across the road. The stunning views of the isles added to the charm of the experience. We were delighted to bring our little dog along, and the management even provided a soft white sheepskin rug for her to lie on. This thoughtful gesture made us feel truly welcomed. The meal we enjoyed was exceptional, with fantastic staff providing excellent service. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also lovely, making for a memorable dining experience.

Extremely disappointing. We ordered a seafood platter and a meat mezze platter.Service was very poor. We had to wait at least half an hour for our (cold food to arrive and had to go in hunt to find someone to bring us the water we 'd ordered alongside our wine. When the food arrived, the roasted figs which were part of the menu were non-existent. We also had to hunt for the minute crumbs of blue cheese which were included in the menu. Some of the salad was yellow, soggy and inedible. When we pointed this all out to our waiter, he said that as we had eaten the meal, we would still be charged the full amount. After remonstrating further (politely! he agreed to consult the msnager . No apology...

"On Friday afternoon, February 9th, two friends and I from London stopped at a bar/pub on the southern end of the Island during our drive to the farthest south point. When we returned, we decided to check out the pub. A friendly kilted young man welcomed us as we arrived at 4:35 and directed us to the bar beyond the inn reception and restaurant. The bar was empty when we entered, and the bartender let us try some local beers before we made our purchase. The large LCD screen was playing "The Chase," which some of the staff were watching on and off. As more people arrived, a mix of locals and tourists, the atmosphere became lively. Some patrons seemed content with the TV on, but it was a bit of a distraction for us as we planned our journey back to London. Eventually, the TV was turned off as fewer people were paying attention. The bartender updated the "Quiz of Today" chalkboard, and overall, the pub seemed like a popular spot for the locals or those staying in nearby rental properties. Some customers were waiting for the restaurant to open at 5:30. The free Wi-Fi came in handy as we booked our accommodation in Sterling for the next night. We enjoyed the Skye beer and Schiehallion Lager, as well as the local MacNamara Rum Cask whisky. Since we had spent a considerable amount of time at a table, I purchased an additional beer to show our appreciation. By the time we left at 6:15, the place had gotten quite busy. In conclusion, it was a pleasant and welcoming place to enjoy reasonably priced drinks and local whisky if you happen to be passing by."
