"On Friday afternoon, February 9th, two friends and I from London stopped at a bar/pub on the southern end of the Island during our drive to the farthest south point. When we returned, we decided to check out the pub. A friendly kilted young man welcomed us as we arrived at 4:35 and directed us to the bar beyond the inn reception and restaurant. The bar was empty when we entered, and the bartender let us try some local beers before we made our purchase. The large LCD screen was playing "The Chase," which some of the staff were watching on and off. As more people arrived, a mix of locals and tourists, the atmosphere became lively. Some patrons seemed content with the TV on, but it was a bit of a distraction for us as we planned our journey back to London. Eventually, the TV was turned off as fewer people were paying attention. The bartender updated the "Quiz of Today" chalkboard, and overall, the pub seemed like a popular spot for the locals or those staying in nearby rental properties. Some customers were waiting for the restaurant to open at 5:30. The free Wi-Fi came in handy as we booked our accommodation in Sterling for the next night. We enjoyed the Skye beer and Schiehallion Lager, as well as the local MacNamara Rum Cask whisky. Since we had spent a considerable amount of time at a table, I purchased an additional beer to show our appreciation. By the time we left at 6:15, the place had gotten quite busy. In conclusion, it was a pleasant and welcoming place to enjoy reasonably priced drinks and local whisky if you happen to be passing by."

Food was fine, perhaps a little short on the vegetables, service very polite and attentive. Very close to the sea so great views. I would return.

Recently, my wife and I enjoyed a pleasant lunch at this restaurant. The food and drinks were wholesome and the service at the bar was very friendly.

Dark and unwelcoming bar with extremely poor service from indifferent and disinterested staff (if you can even locate one). It is highly recommended to steer clear of this establishment.

ate here just once. Place spartan and uninspiring. Food was average, overcooked, salads dried up and overall uneventful. Would not return nor reccomend. Felt behind the scenes were more interested in the football on TV

Although we did not stay at the Inn on two occasions we certainly enjoyed the freshly cooked food and friendly service. If not resident we would certainly recommend pre booking as, not surprisingly, it can be quite a busy restaurant. Special thanks to Laura who served our food and drink, her knowledge of the local area added to our experience.

Visited 3 times whilst on holiday after lockdown with my wife and our two dogs. Very quiet during the day with friendly staff and a small but good menu Although the weather wasn’t great ... outside tables include a couple with umbrellas and there is also a separate garden area Took advantage of buying a bottle of local gin Didn’t visit in the evenings but am sure it’s very popular with the locals Worth a visit for the friendly atmosphere, good food and wide range of drinks.

Booked Sunday lunch here. Had to change the time but need not have worried as we were the only two there! Such a shame as the food was delicious locals you are missing out! We had yellow split pea soup to start, then I had a healthy super food salad and my husband had a trio of lamb chops. Oh.My.Word! Absolutely delicious food . Couldn’t fault any of it. The flavours were wonderful and there was a lot of it as well. No room for dessert so just had a coffee. Our waitress was lovely and friendly originally from Spain she is now is Skye and enjoying it though not so much the weather! If you live here then go and eat here! If you don’t and are on holiday go and eat here! You will not be disappoi...

Staying at Eilean Iarmain Hotel but decided to visit their sister inn at Ardvassar, and its Macnamara Bar, for lunch. What can I say? Very good, if simple, lunch menu and the food they served was fresh and delicious. So good, in fact, that we booked for dinner that evening. Yet again, a nice menu very well executed. The starters (scallops/grilled goat's cheese) were tasty and the mains rather good of their type: a hearty and flavoursome mediterranean Sea Bass dish and Hake, served with a leek sauce, which was pefectly cooked. It's true that the decor is rather spartan but, in compensation, the staff are friendly and welcoming If you are looking for a simple but good lunch or dinner in S Skye...

The front of house staff were friendly welcoming and were knowledgeable about both the new food menu and the drinks ind the bar. Whilst waiting for the food they chatted and engaged customers about sea fishing, island life and norn iron accents! The straight forward menu offered great choices and I declined the hake in favour of the venison pie, which was excellent locally sourced and generous portions. The beers were well kept. The crumble was tasty although I would have preferred custard to ice cream and the whiskey recommendation : Bruichladdich, rounded off a celebratory meal in fine style. An enjoyable, good value meal, in a deservedly busy restaurant, even though it was mid week; frien...
