"Would advise that times of last food orders are made clearer as we had an unavoidable situation that meant we were 10 minutes late for our 7pm booking. When I telephoned 30 minutes prior to our booking to advise that we were going to be late I was told that the last food orders were at 7pm! We could pre order our food but I had already explained that 1 of our party was held up in traffic on the M1 so we couldn’t do that. Then I was told that the chefs had been working all day. To be frank that is not my problem as a customer why should I be made aware of that. I was annoyed it soured our evening which was a celebration of our children’s birthdays. The booking system should be explicit as to when last food orders are or not allow you to book a table at that exact time, but earlier. Then my husband’s rump steak was inedible. He sent it back was given a sirloin as a replacement which was fine. However when the waitress came back to ask if my husband would like another steak she said that the chef “agreed” that the steak was of a poor standard. What a strange thing to say! Surely you would say that the chef apologises would like to know if he/she could prepare something else for him. A disappointing evening. My husband I visited the pub in early August 2020 for our wedding anniversary the overall standard was much better at that time."

"Booked a three course meal via wowcher , were seated in an extension of the pub with interiors which didn’t really match up with the rest of the hotel. Ordered a burger for kids which was not a part of the set meal which came in approx 20 mins which was a good thing . The burger was probably good they ate it all. We receive the salad as starters fairly quick , supposed to be grill mixed veg starters , poor wife only had leaves no trace of any grilled veg don’t think I specified she had any allergy to grilled veg , I Had the grilled veg plus the leaves So was ok. The main course came exactly in 1 hour and 15 mins from time of ordering . Wife said her chicken was ok my pork belly was extremely dry luckily had a whole bottle of Prosecco as part of the meal which made It much easier . Absolutely no flavour or taste usually I really enjoy anything when I am starving , but not this time. Didn’t really think was worth waiting for the third course, lemon sorbet which was part of the set meals for another hour in a dining spot with poor ambience . So left without the third course, the waiter was kind enough to not charge for the burger and the sparkling water which was an extra you go to restaurants for experience the deal itself was cheap but definitely the worst meal I have ever had in my whole life in a restaurant . Didn’t really expect this from Hyatt, they could rather charge a bit more and keep up the minimum expectation . There were only two waiters managing whole of the pub, both were extremely polite ."

"In a part of London that isn’t exactly bereft of Italian restaurants – Enoteca da Luca is a real gem. I thought I knew this part of the City quite well but Devonshire Square came as a pleasant surprise. A really good example of how to develop a former Georgian warehouse. Enoteca da Luca is essentially two establishments – a wine bar and directly opposite, a more formal restaurant. It’s not the kind of place where the staff brandish giant pepper grinders, or have cheesy mandolin music in the background – it’s modern Italian in character, that’s very stylish indeed. The food we had was simply wonderful – all of it. We started with the mixed cured meats and cheeses for two. The contents were in superb condition and of a very high quality. This should be the standard in every Italian restaurant but two experiences of late proved it can also be disastrous. One branch of a well known Italian chain delivered something bordering inedible and last week, we paid only a couple of pounds less for ten wafer thin slices of salami (albeit good quality). This starter was the perfect appetiser. Choosing that starter was difficult as I had my eyes on porchetta from the menu and memories of Roman porchetta came flooding back. Incidentally, when I mentioned this to the excellent manager, he brought the porchetta out from the kitchen for me to see in all its glory. Guess what I will be having on our next visit? I didn’t choseit on this occasion as one of the main courses was Suckling Pig and again – I just couldn’t resist. That pork was simply outstanding. We make a big deal about pork in England and its accompanying “crackling” but trust me – it doesn’t even come close to this. The whole thing was spectacular. The same could be said for my wife’s rather safe choice of Chicken Milanese which again, is a simple dish but so difficult to get right. This had the crisp breadcrumb coating but the meat within was still wonderfully moist. My wife had the Pear and Ricotta cake for dessert, which like the rest of the meal was excellent. I had a glass of Vinsanto with some cantucci – hard to get that wrong really. The wine list is concise and has a good selection by the glass. For us, it was the inclusion of three examples of our favourite Italian grape variety – Primitivo. This grape varietal is looked down upon by “the trade” for its “fruit forward”, sweetish style. They seem to prefer the more drier style of wine but we know what we like and we like Primitivo. This example (Collezione 50 from San Marzano) was excellent. Service was friendly, very efficient and thoroughly professional. It’s only a five minute walk from the terminus of our local tube line at Aldgate, so the chances of us returning are 100%. An excellent establishment."
