"We dined at the MC Cafe Bar Grill Manchester, good selection of meals. Although they have discontued the Mixed Grill that I had had on a previous visit. As it was lunch my husband had the chicken burger, which looked nice and he liked the chips. I had salmon en crout, but did not like the spinich it came with, the salmon was well cooked, it was accompanied by seasonal vegitables and new potatoes. Sevice on the slow side in fact we waited nearly an hour for our meal. But they were very busy."

"London is filled with restaurants of all cuisines you can find everything from thai and indian through to ethiopian or moroccan but sometimes you just can't beat a bit of British. British cooking to me means one thing. Meat. I love big, comforting plates of honest food whether that comes in the form of beef, pork, lamb or chicken. I'm a meat veg girl through and through so when I was recently invited down to The Grill on the Market, near Smithfields market one look at the menu and I knew I'd love it. Grill on the Market is a restaurant from the Blackhouse group. They've got restaurants across the country in Chester, Glasgow, Leeds and Manchester and the site at Smithfeilds market is its only London outpost. Blackhouse are all about no nonsense, honest and simple cooking and that's exactly what they serve up. We wanted to make sure we tried as much of the menu as possible so we ordered the Blackhouse Sharing Plate £15.75) which allows you to try four starter dishes for a very reasonable price. Honey glazed chicken skewers, salt and pepper calamari, BBQ ribs and baked sweet potato wedges. All served withthree dips BBQ, Aioli and a mint coriander creme fraiche. The ribs had that perfect fall off the bone, melt in the mouth texture and the calamari oh the calamari.... Squid has a tendency to be cooked to the point of tasting like rubber in lots of places but GoTM got it just right. Perfectly cooked in a light batter which sung when dunked in the garlic y mayonnaise. I also spied Scottish mussels on the menu and couldn't resist ordering a bowl to share I'm greedy, remember people). There's a choice of two sauces so we went with the cream and white wine option £7.75) which was gorgeous if a touch under seasoned, but a good squeeze from the lemon provided on our sharing platter totally took it up a gear. Make sure you order some bread as the sauce is just dying to be mopped up once you've eaten the mussels. I even drained the whole bowl with a spoon once the bread was gone... For main courses we both went for rib eyes. Rib eye steak is by far my favourite cut it's covered in fatty marbling which creates a rich, beefy flavour. This cut of steak is best medium rare as it allows the fat to melt slightly and all the flavour to be absorbed when cooked right, it tastes incredible. All the steaks at Grill on the Market are served with a choice of baked potato, home cut chips or mash. We both very predictably went for steak and home cut chips because diets are not designed for date night. Tom kept it fancy by adding a skewer of garlic king prawns £5) to go with his steak and I chose a Béarnaise sauce £2.25), which tasted so good I could have drank it straight from the jug. I didn't but you know I totally would've) Side orders of roasted field mushrooms £3.25), green vegetables £3.75) and onion rings £3) set off our meal perfectly. By this point we'd eaten a lot of food. But I couldn't leave without pudding. and things definitely kicked up a gear when it came to desserts. Sticky Toffee Pudding and Pavlova are my favourite desserts not counting Banoffee Pie of course) and here they both were on the menu. It took very little persuasion to get Tom to share both with me...along with a bottle of Picpoul £26). If you go, I urge you to order the sticky toffee....served piping hot with cold vanilla ice cream it's gooey, sticky, warm and absolutely delicious. I almost wrestled Tom out the way so I could get a bite. The raspberry pavlova £6.75) also did not disappoint. A GIANT meringue stuffed with fresh cream, raspberries, cherries and fruit couli. Wow. Just wow. I would definitely recommend heading to Grill on the Market if you're looking for somewhere lively and affordable to have dinner it would also be great for drinks after work if you're in the area. We were there on a Friday night and they had live music in the form of a pianist playing all my favourite 80s motown songs the perfect setting for a brilliant evening. Big thank you to Kamil for arranging our dinner for us and to our waitor Joe for looking after us brilliantly on the night!"

"Visited TDH on a Sunday. Got seated immediately. We ordered a roast dinner platter with all the trimmings and lamb shoulder for £100. On the pricier side. This platter is good for 3 people. It was so delicious but slightly over oily. The cabbage and sprouts are to die for! The meat falls off the bone is tender and juicy. I ordered a champagne cocktail expecting it to be a bellini or something creative but it was underwhelming and literally a glass of sparkling wine with a brown sugar cube plopped at the bottom of the glass. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. They kept checking up on us to see if we needed anything if the food was good. Drink service was veryyyy slow. Interior is so pretty! I would go again to try their seafood; I've heard great things"

"Delightful pub just up the road from Crawley, Gatwick and Charlwood. Opposite a beautiful wooden church. There is a beautiful Inglenook fireplace with horse brasses and a post horn surrounded with fascinating artifacts and cozy seating. I had the pork and stuffing pie which was very tender and generously sized. My friend, Tony had salmon on Moroccan base which was beautifully prepared. Dessert was just as delightful with my Sticky Toffee Pudding of excellent quality with generous caramel sauce and a large dollop of chocolate ice cream. Tony loved his apple crumple and a coffee after. Jo is the landlord and was very chatty and catered for our every need with a smile and good knowledge of the history of the pub. All in all, a really good pub and a short drive from the a24, Gatwick, Crawley and Redhill. It is next to St Peters Church which is beautiful with its wooden spire. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4"

"I was there for lunch during the week and it was very quiet, only our table and one other. The service was good and the food delicious, good portions and very good value. We couldn’t understand why it was as quiet as it was. I will definitely be going back and am looking forward to seeing the restaurant in a night setting."

"Had a delicious dinner with fabulous friends in the Hyndland Fox no doubt made all the more rosy by bottles and bottles of spot on house red.... late last year and have since been back for a brilliant brunch I 'd promise 'no more cheesy alliterations ', but that would be a lie . It 's such a lovely, bright space and on both occasions we found the staff to be absolute dolls. We dined on the Mezzanine both times... the overhead beams and charming interiors really are a triumph. What I 'm most proud of is coercing my brunch muching companions into taking photos of each of their dishes, to be put away for a momentous occasion... such as the drafting of this review. While they each hated me at the time, I hope you dear reader will love me for it. I had the Salt Beef Hash £6.95 which from the moment the words left my lips to place the order... I was having taste bud driven heart palpitations over. It was super tasty but the portion was quite small. And I honestly don 't think that was just my big bum talking I hope!? . I felt like my meal was over in fewer forkfuls while everyone else was eating on in blissful brunchy heaven. My pals had the Hot Smoked Salmon £7.95 and the Smoked Black Forest Ham £7.45 and my wonderful wife had the Cooked Brekky £8.95 . While part of me was delighted to see her savouring every mouthful, the less lovely and therefore much larger part of me secretly hoped she 'd offer to trade... She didn 't. All in all, love the Fox and we will be back! Just for my regular puppy loving intel unfortunately the venue does not accept dogs... only... err... foxes."

"Absolute find on our staycation.. The food was just Devine, getting the 100% approval from 2 fussy teenagers. We had breakfast there the first day of our staycation and ended up having dinner that evening and breakfast and dinner the following day there it was that good. The breakfast pancakes were a massive hit with the children and the omelettes were just delicious. For dinner the pizza was outstanding, we couldn’t finish it so we brought it back to our hotel later. The bacon and cheese burger was second to none. My husband had the mixed grill and he said it was divine. All the staff were exceptionally efficient, friendly and we felt perfectly safe and protected while dining there. All in all an absolute must if you visit Dublin... you won’t be disappointed."

"I enjoyed the food and variety at this restaurant. However, some of my pickier family members struggled to find appetizers they liked. The service was welcoming, and the restaurant had a lively atmosphere. Some customers seemed to be a bit rowdy due to alcohol consumption, causing some noise disturbances. Despite this, we were satisfied with both the delicious food and the attentive service provided by the staff."

"I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed with my recent experience at this restaurant. I visited a few days ago with friends, and we all had similar feedback about their meal. The sirloin steak I ordered was very dry, even though it was cooked medium. Additionally, the pepper sauce didn't meet my expectations, as it seemed overly vinegary and sour. However, I have no complaints about the service, which was friendly and helpful. I'm inclined to explore other dining options before considering a return visit to your establishment."

"Food was amazing, we both really enjoyed our meals. Service was quick. We had starters and mains in just over an hour. We didn’t feel rushed at all though, we were just quite quick at deciding and the food arrived quickly too. We left almost straight away after eating. They’ve ruined the atmosphere a bit by trying to fit in too many tables. We felt like we were basically dining at the same table as another party which we found a bit uncomfortable. We probably won’t go again as for the price we can go somewhere with a better atmosphere and still have good food. but we would still recommend as some people don’t seem to mind as much."

"I visited this place with some friends for a couple of beers, looking to get away from the noisy pubs in Highworth. The bar area had a nice, laid-back atmosphere with people chatting and laughing, which added to the ambiance without overpowering our own conversation. The staff were friendly and promptly cleared our empty glasses. The owner was also present and took the time to speak to us, ensuring we were well taken care of, which was a nice gesture. Although I did not stay overnight, if the rooms are as good as the rest of the hotel, I would expect them to be clean and tidy."

"From that point on, the service was only slightly better; we felt largely ignored. While the food was nice, the overall experience left much to be desired, lacking in service quality even compared to a budget hotel. When we received the bill, our problems continued. We were charged £21.98 for desserts we didn’t order, and the bill showed £15.99 for dessert that should have been £7.99. I brought this to the attention of a staff member who said he couldn’t process a refund himself, but offered us three drinks as an apology for the incorrect dessert charge. By the time he returned, we realized the extra £21.98 charge still hadn’t been resolved. He swapped our beer for a bottle of prosecco instead, which we took, considering our children needed to go to bed. After researching the prosecco, I found I could buy it for just £10.99 at the store. To say I was appalled would be an understatement. For such a reputable establishment, this experience was a huge letdown. We seriously doubt that we will consider staying or dining at Doubletree again, and we certainly won’t be recommending it to friends, family, or clients anytime soon."

"this is by far one of my favorite restaurants to visit the city center. I have always visited with a gourmet society card, which means 50% of the total bill. the restaurant also offers a lunch that is absolutely worth it. even at full price are the parts enormous and excellent. I recommend the quattrozero board. this is an excellent taste of all the best of the dish antipasto, paprika salat, arancini, calamari. we had this in the past for two, but believe me, there is more than enough for four. Now as gluten-free diner, italian is not a kitchen that I would choose in the rule. I was very impressed when they offered me a gluten-free pizza. my other favorite option is the melanzane parmigiana as a lasagne, but with cut aubergine instead of pasta leaves. a word of warning, although- the portion is huge and I have begun to ask for half a part as I can never finish it! my non-GF friends were always satisfied with their meal times. what is really great is this place offers so much more than just pizza/pasta, but right, delicious Italian cuisine. quattro zero never lets you impress. the staff is wonderful and the food is delicious filling and comforting. make sure to add it to their lists."

"I had not experienced the magic of chef Sally Abbe at any of her previous establishments so it was interesting to note the subtle changes effected at her pub in the Conrad St James Hotel. It is not really a pub in the true sense as it does not have that atmosphere but what it does offer is good, friendly service at well spaced tables in a modern brasserie style setting. The menu was short but tempting and i chose the Battered cod with chunky chips, forked peas and chip shop curry sauce £23.00). This last item was really the point of difference as I have not seen such a bold initiative at any other restaurant! The batter was light and very crisp, the cod moist and fresh, the chips wonderful and the sauce so good that I called for another helping happily and quickly offered. This felt like food sacrilege to a die hard Northerner brought up on Whitby and Hartlepools finest haddock and chips with mushy peas but the curry combination was irresistible. My first visit to the Blue Boar but certainly not my last, Total bill with water and 12.5% service was £35.72 simply great value."

"My husband and I were in the restaurant at 5pm for dinner in August. I had half lobster and my husband had sea bass. The staff were very pleasant. The two meals were poor. The lobster had very little fish inside and the side salad in the bowl was small and dripping in oil and not well presented. My husbands salad was the same and his fish did not taste nice. We both had a beer before our meal which was flat and not nice. My husband did not drink his. I had a glass of wine with my meal which was fine. Not long after my meal my stomach was rumbling. Later that evening my husband said his was the same. Next day my stomach continued to be upset. Hence to say that I will not be back to Deans Love Fish again. I would not even accept a free meal. We have been a few times to Deans on the Lisburn Road. The food there has been good with excellent service. Extremely disappointed"

"I really enjoyed the food and the variety of choices offered at this restaurant. However, some of my pickier companions couldn't find anything that appealed to them. The service was friendly and the restaurant was bustling with activity. Some patrons seemed to be more focused on alcohol consumption, which added to the noise level at times. Overall, we were pleased with the food quality, portion sizes, and the attentive service from the staff."

"Worst things first: I think the service could have been a bit better as the waiters weren't so attentive. It was quite difficult to get their attention. Also I asked for lukewarm water as my wife was ill and we were still served chilled water. I asked for the bill to come with the card reader as we were in a rush and the bill still came alone and we had to ask for the card reader again. Other than this the ambience is really really nice. You get a nice view of Canary wharf and although the pillars block the view a bit, I guess those are required to hold the building up haha so it is what it is. Really nice view which every table can appreciate, beautiful interior design my wife referred to it as having a homely feel. I would definitely come back during the day as Im sure it would like marvellous with the sun coming through the full length windows how much better at sunset!! The food was exquisite too. I had eaten beforehand so didn't eat much: just squid rings and the bread selections. Its small but it goes a long way when restaurants heat up the butter so its soft and spreadable on nice warm and soft bread. The squid rings were good too, not too rubbery like many are these days. My wife had a bit more: the cod on mash with caviar (or just roe, not sure) and fries. The fries were so so nice, perfectly salted and fried. The cod and mash was DIVINEEE. Every bite that I stole from her was eye shut inducing. Perfectly cooked cod that tasted like it came from the sea that very morning, one of the creamiest mashed potatoes I've had in a while and then the caviar/roe to add a certain texture to the after taste. Superb. Excellent restaurant, would definitely recommend and not too bad a price as well considering the high class interior and prime location in Canary Wharf."
