"I have visited numerous vegan groups on facebook, I always hear how amazing zizzi is, and finally I have the opportunity to visit one on a trip to yorkshire. Despite its location to be the center of a retail park, this restaurant really feels like you're going to be out somewhere that interieur is spacious, modern, interesting, clean and the atmosphere was beautiful. the waiter was incredibly helpful and went out of his way to ensure that all our meals were perfectly met. my mother ordered the vegan green goddess salat, separated with the pesto; my partner ordered the vegan rustica pizza, with added spinat, and I went and veganized the thin ‘primavera’ pizza that replaces the non-vegan options for cruel free versions. our meals arrived immediately, and just as we ordered despite all tweaking the usual menu items! (they also came with vegan stickers, of course we had to wear our little tokens for the rest of the meal with proud, hahahahahahaha). all our meals were arched, they were absolutely sensational. (my omni dad said it was the best lasagne he ever had, but that wasn't vegan/veggie) also beautiful portion sizes, thanks to enough space for my partner and I to share the legendary vegan dessert roller zone! I tend to avoid sugar, but there was no possibility that I could go without taste! when we ordered the waiter, it was so sorry to announce that they had no more vegan option in their filiale, but he made sure that we can still enjoy our little vegan tasty by replacing the non-vegan items in the plate, thereby treating our own cutter! on a page note were my partner and mama not too impressed by the coffee but we are grateful that it was so. Maybe soon Zizzi’s will offer more vegan coffee options. the whole experience was absolutely fantastic, we felt really interested, and give the waiter a big tip, he seemed really taken back; the personal is simply really good people there in our experience. I would like to visit again. I would say it is a safe bet for meals with men's mixed nutritional requirements, and since it is a chain restaurant, they can know what to expect. [additional] I would like to leave 5* review, but in the rule happycow restaurants that are only veggie friendly can only get the highest 4* reviews."

"The restaurant had not even prepared for our reservation and I was told I hadn't booked even though I had. 3 small tables were pushed together which was awkward for the party size. When people arrived at different times they were not asked if they would like a drink. I couldn't get hold of a waitress and had to wait half an hour before I finally got someone's attention. Everyone's food was nice however I had the chicken ceaser salad which had dry chicken and it was a really small portion size. The place did not have a nice ambience and overall the service was terrible. A disappointment from Zizzi as they are normally really good."

"I made a booking for myself and my two elderly parents at a restaurant on an early Saturday evening. I was hesitant about taking a break from our usual routine. The restaurant initially mentioned that Toptable bookings don't always reach them. We were seated in a cramped area next to a large group of twenty people directly under an air conditioning vent, making it both the noisiest and the coldest spot in the restaurant. The starters were standard antipasti and olives. The main courses varied in quality, with one of the pasta dishes lacking in taste. My pizza, which was supposed to be the spiciest on the menu, was disappointingly lacking in spice, despite my efforts to add extra chili oil and black pepper. The service was inconsistent, and overall, I would not choose to dine at this restaurant again."

"I wasn't very impressed with the food at this restaurant. The steak I ordered was just okay, and the portion size was small. The prices were a bit high, especially considering the quality of the meat. I had made a note in my booking that it was my birthday and was hoping for a special dessert or some kind of birthday acknowledgment, but unfortunately, nothing was done. I would suggest that the staff pay more attention to any special requests in the booking comments. Overall, I think there is potential for improvement at this restaurant."

"Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Zizzi, staff were friendly, and the food and drink were delicious. We would happily return and recommend to others. My friend's risotto dish looked very tasty and she agreed it was delicious although one mussel did come out undercooked and the portion when compared to that of the pasta and pizza dishes was underwhelming so I would suggest larger portions on these dishes and more care to be taken when cooking sea food such as mussels. Also whilst waiting for a table we would have prefered to have been able to sit at the bar with a drink whilst waiting for our table instead of in the door but we were seated promptly so this is more of a suggestion than an issue."

"If it was possible to score no stars I would our food order was very disappointing the food did not arrive all together, of the meals ordered the gluten free pizza arrived mins later than the others. Of the food that arrived first the two calazone pizzas only had filling towards one half almost as if folded incorrectly and the other salmon dish was stone cold. The salmon dish was taken away and we waited over mins for a hot replacement as you can guess despite being a ‘priority order’ the staff telling us over and over again “just mins” mins is totally unacceptable. Bedford has a plethora of fantastic Italian restaurants this chain will not get our custom again"

"Went to Zizzi when we got off the train at Waverley. It was quiet, when we arrived but the restaurant itself is very open and spacious. The staff were welcoming and friendly throughout the visit. Always serving with a smile, and checking if we needed anything. The food was delicious, we had calamari which could have been slightly bigger cuts (but it suited us) and then the pictured pizza. Both were tasty, hot and brought out to us quickly. The pizza pictured was a ‘rustica’ and was enough for two of us. Great service and reasonably priced."

"we had a table for 19,45 and with approx. 5 minutes arrived to save the front of the house visitor, could not book first then told us our table for 19.30 was booked I recommended that this was wrong and said I had the confirmation on my phone e, on which the answer was "good it says 7.30 and the book" in a right acceptable ton of the vote. we were led to a small 2 sitting table that was too close to the table when the couples were available for 4 people and tables for 4 and were still empty when we were finished). I found my confirmation and went to the recipe that just shrunk. no apologies that we had been booked wrong and their information was correct. from a first impression perspective, this was a terrible beginning. our waitress was very nice, but was obviously informed, we were not happy and went over the top to try to correct the situation. the precursor of the mushrooms came to bruschetta and was recommended to go the teller were hot and cautious, but my partner had a disc that was stone cold and another luke warm ... when he mentioned it was told that it should not be hot .. so why do it serve on hot plates? finished our meal and went .. not in any hurry to visit again."

"Zizzi in the centre of Derby's restaurant area met up to all expectations. Excellent service, a great atmosphere, a good menu and quality, great value food and wine. The Rustica Pizzas are superb though now seem to be lacking in spice heat, which is a shame. Olive and bread platters are great value and the house-wines were truly superb value. A great start to a wonderful evening. Would definitely recommend."

"I liked Zizzi’s! don’t get me wrong. for the price of £14.50 I got a thin slice of cake and pommes. it was filling, but thin layer is not my favorite. also I prefer my fries thick. Maybe it's a British ding that explains why it was different for me. either I have had a better vegan pizza, so I can't judge fair anymore. another thing was the cheese was more dripping than chewing gum. it is still a decent choice if nothing else is open in the opposite."

"We were then seated at a small table for two that was uncomfortably close to other guests, despite having empty four-person tables nearby. After finding my confirmation, I went to the front desk to address the mix-up, but the staff was not apologetic about the reservation error and insisted their information was accurate. This left a very negative first impression. Our waitress was quite lovely, but it was clear that we were unhappy. She made a noticeable effort to make things right. The mushroom appetizer came out as bruschetta, which was recommended to be hot, yet one of my partner's dishes arrived stone cold while another was lukewarm. When he pointed this out, we were told it was supposed to be served that way—so why was it served on hot plates? After finishing our meal, we left without any intention of returning."

"huge selection of vegan options from rich “plant protein” with lenses and tofu chili, to endless salat combinations. the self-service tablets are great and make it easy to adjust their salat selection completely, they simply check the screen when they pay with the card, as sometimes says it failed on the screen, but approved on the card device. they can be loaded twice on these lines. the personal was great at the solution this, but check them how they can not notice when they don't notice! one of the healthiest and freshest lunch options in the environment. I would recommend one."

"The service at this restaurant was absolutely awful. It was nearly impossible to get the staff's attention. It took way too long to order drinks, and even longer in the evening to order food. We waited forever for our food to come, and when it finally did, it was nothing to write home about. We had to ask for the bill four times, and at the end, we had to stand up and practically beg for it. Overall, the service was unacceptable."

"We visited for evening meal on Saturday. I asked the waiter for some advice on one meal and received a short mutter but no help or advice really. The whole experience seemed very rushed and when the food came, it was a total let down....There was also an offer on their website for pre theatre three course for £21 but we were told this was not on offer and the staff knew nothing of it but I had booked in advance and had a reservation on email. We had starters and mains but decided not to bother with a dessert and went into Covent Garden instead."

"Edit one year on. Sat eve, 8pm. Nearly empty restaurant. Last year gave 4 stars....this year struggled to give 2. So what was different? Staff: mostly ok. .just ok. If you are not ready to order then expect a long wait as they forget to return...both for ordering drinks and food. Had to locate someone. Not offered parmesan. Had to ask for pepper as well and waitress said i will try to find some then hunted round the other tables until she located one. Then- there seemed to be a volunteer working there- baggy grey t shirt and old jeans hanging halfway down his bottom.......but omg! Was he actually the manager? Complaints/comments not responded to except see below in food review. Food- just average. The cheese dip starter was just a cheese sauce- no better than I put on my homemade lasagne. Pasta with meatballs- husband struggled to find 3 meatballs. Crab canneloni- tasteless, pappy...ate only one. Courgette fritti...no courgette.....i did mention this and was told it 's hard to find ....so i picked up several random pieces of fried batter and none had courgette in . No feedback from kitchen or manager. On paying when asked if all ok i mentioned it again and they said oh that 's a shame. That was it!! Two good things- beer glass was chilled and the organic wine (i dont usually do organic) was super. Won 't be returning in a hurry. Food is great here. Service friendly. Doesn 't matter what they do to this space it never quite works.....noisy and unwelcoming- hard to hear eachother speak. Certainly not a cosy, couples type place. Prezzo across the road has nice booths but terrible food and service."

"We booked a table and on entering the restaurant were told there was a 45 minute delay, we had booked to go to the cinema based on the times we wanted to eat only 3 kitchen staff on this is the second time it has happened and the restaurant wasn't even that busy. I ordered a King Prawn Linguine which cost over £13 and had only 5 prawns in it not very good value for money at all!!"

Terrible service. No apology for the booking confusion. Went back to Portivo and enjoyed the lovely ambience. Will not be returning to Zizzi. Get your act together Zizzi. You have a lot of competition in the area so you can’t assume people will return. You have lost two customers already."

"I made a reservation for 5 PM, and while the starter arrived fairly quickly, the main course didn't come out until 6:10. With the movie starting at 6:45, we didn't have enough time to enjoy a second course or even a coffee. We raised our concerns and ended up paying only for the starter, but it was clear that the staff were overwhelmed and unable to meet the needs of all their customers."
