"Visited last Friday night. Lovely welcome from the staff which service continued throughout the evening. There appeared to be a bit of a delay in food coming out but the staff were attentive and apologetic. It is this sort of service that makes all the difference. Food was delicious and although there was a slight issue with my main this was resolved very quickly. Notwithstanding the issues we would definitely return. Thank you!"

"It was a cold, wet and miserable midweek night when I went here, but I was given a really warm welcome when I arrived. The staff are lovely and the place has a nice chilled vibe. There is plenty to choose from on the menu, and this is the tastiest and most authentic food I've had outside of Thailand. They also serve beer and wine, plus there's a cheeky cocktail list that needs investigating too. I highly recommend this place, it is right on the harbour so I imagine it is absolutely buzzing here in the summer. It's a shame I live 350 miles away otherwise I'd be here every week, working my way through the rest of the menu..."

"Slightly disappointed, Nice enough over all though. Food was good but nothing amazing, which was disappointing after the good reviews I had heard about the place. Portions were a good size, and the family liked the Sunday Roast. The service was very slow, and not the best. Servers never offered us water at the start of the meal, were slow to come back and offer us more drinks throughout the meal, and forgot to bring drinks over that we ordered too. This let the whole experience down Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes: Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger, Chicken Fillet Burger, Battered Haddock Chips, Buttermilk Chicken Burger, Dirty Fries Parking space: Plenty of parking"

"Only had a takeaway, but will be back to eat in.. Good portion size. Chicken and Lamb was cooked well. Kids enjoyed their Chicken tikka. Chicken Pathia could have been hotter (spice), it’s usually ‘one up’ from a madras . Nothing was oily . Very friendly staff. Another review mentioned refurbishment? Maybe it’s been done , I thought it was really nice in there, and certainly didn’t smell . I sat there with a beer whilst I waited for my order, seemed to have decent wine on list too, which isn’t always case with Indian restaurants. Having recently moved to Epping , glad to find a new local “go to” curry house"

"The clams were not properly cleaned and the ritz-cracker crusted haddock was soggy. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but it has undergone a disappointing change. The food is overpriced for the low quality. I would recommend looking elsewhere."

"I recently visited the Grill Room in Edinburgh with my sisters and was completely blown away by the elegant and stunning ambiance. I will definitely make it a point to return every time I'm in Edinburgh. A friend had highly recommended it to me, and I was not disappointed. The staff were incredibly polite and pleasant, making our afternoon dining experience truly delightful. I personally tried the brie and mushroom tart, which was not only visually appealing but also incredibly delicious, served with thick cut chips and salad. My sisters opted for the sparerib and pea risotto and the club sandwich, both of which were equally scrumptious. If you happen to be in the area, I highly recommend paying the Grill Room a visit."

"We ordered here for a nice family evening in, it’s not our first choice but as the restaurant next door is 0 stars we didn’t really have a choice. First off the food arrived fairly quickly for the time we asked, it was hot enough...to eat which is good but it was so oily and there was no flavour whatsoever. My partner is very sensitive to a lot of food, especially MSG, I have never seen him so unwell after eating food and I know Chinese isn’t the healthiest food out there but we are allowed to treat ourselves. How much MSG are they adding if his tongue was tingling and he was throwing up an hour after eating? Baring in mind he has no other allergies or intolerances and it wasn’t food poisoning as the rest of us we’re ok. I think they need to put more effort into the food maybe less rubbish and more seasoning, as I said before I know it’s Chinese but there’s some takeaways that are really good! Also they need to clean the fish tank out, they are too big for the tank, it’s over crowded and the water is disgusting. Do better! you have an opportunity to have a good restaurant as it’s the only one around for us locals."

"I 've eaten here a few times over the years when it was Bubba Gump so thought it was a safe bet for a birthday celebration meal before a night at the theatre with my husband. How wrong I was! There was no great welcome with lots of standing around in a cavernous space at the top of the stairs waiting for someone to eventually come to the desk. Then it was not clear if it was a queue or a crowd as the people who got attended to were in no particular order. We had booked and noted it was for a birthday. Maybe I should have mentioned that the birthday person was well into middle age and then we wouldn 't have been seated in the midst of a lot of families with young children more with an atmosphere more like a fast food 'restaurant '. We asked to move but the only other place was a table looking onto an open area where the staff congregated to chat and serve drinks. It didn 't look too clean and was an ugly view. The food was okay but very overpriced for what it was. The main courses were all over £20 and the cocktails were £10. I 'd have expected a lot nicer surrounding and better food for this even in central London. I had the New Orleans Shrimp which were tasty but there was hardly any sauce so was very dry and I couldn 't eat the rice without sauce. I will not be returning."

"The food at this restaurant is absolutely beautiful, which is why it has a 4.8 star rating. The restaurant itself is very clean with a great atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive. We tried the pork bites and BBQ chicken for starters, both were amazing, especially the crispy chicken. For dinner, we had the BBQ chicken burger and chorizo linguine. The burger was fantastic, like the starter but in burger form. The linguine had just the right amount of spice and thick chorizo. The food was high quality and the portions were good. Sadly, we overheard that the restaurant would be changing the following night and would no longer be Italian. Our meal cost £55, including a 10% service charge, which we felt was fair. It's disappointing that the restaurant had to change, but we understand it's necessary. We wish them success and will definitely return if we're in the area again. There is plenty of parking right next to the restaurant. Overall, we highly recommend this spot for dinner with a price range of £50-60 per person. Food, service, and atmosphere were all top notch."

"The service was excellent, and the food was amazing, although it was quite pricey, especially the drinks. However, what struck us immediately was that the ambience seemed more like a nightclub than a restaurant. The authentic Turkish vibe we were hoping for was noticeably missing, apart from a few genuine dishes on the menu and the Efes beer behind the bar. It felt more like a nightclub that served food. I've come to realize that Efsane is clearly appealing to a very different crowd than other local eateries. The atmosphere was reminiscent of a sleek, upscale venue in the city, where people gather before heading out to party. Honestly, as a 43-year-old, I felt quite out of place and a bit ancient! Next time I’m in the area, I might opt for takeaway. The loud club music made it impossible for us to have a conversation or even understand each other’s replies. I’m not suggesting they should have live music with traditional instruments (although that would be fantastic), but the Mediterranean element we were seeking just wasn’t present, and that’s why we came. The food was definitely delicious, though!"

"My wife and I drove 20 miles to this location since they closed the one that was only 3 miles away. We were excited to try the endless shrimp promo, particularly the new Shrimp Rangoon. However, when we arrived, we were told they were out of the Shrimp Rangoon. Despite this, my wife ordered the endless deal and we waited 45 minutes for her shrimp to arrive from a different server who didn't even check on us. I asked for Tartar sauce, which took another 10 minutes to receive, leaving my food cold. By the time my wife finished her first round of shrimp, her side orders were also cold. The skewered shrimp that arrived later were cold and dry. After speaking with the Manager, Simon, about our experience, he simply asked what shrimp we wanted next and walked away without offering any compensation. Frustrated, we decided to take our food to go and left after being there for 2 hours. I will not be returning to this location."
