"We had made a reservation at this restaurant for a special occasion two months in advance. The day before our reservation, Open Table asked us to confirm our booking, which we did. However, when we arrived at the restaurant on the day of our reservation, we found that it had closed down, ruining our special occasion. Today, Open Table sent me an email thanking me for dining at the restaurant and asking for a review. I checked the Open Table website and saw that the restaurant was no longer available for booking, indicating that Open Table must be aware of its closure. It is disappointing that Open Table did not inform us of this closure and continues to act as if the restaurant is still open. This lack of communication greatly affected our experience and I will be more cautious in relying on Open Table for future bookings."

"I recently visited Llandudno in Wales and heard that The Tram Fish Shop is considered the best. However, I believe they need to come to Thepan for a real lesson in fish and chips. Thepan offers excellent portions - two fish and a portion of chips is enough for two people. They have a wide variety of meals to choose from, including options for kids. The staff is friendly and the delivery service is quick. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed."

"First time.e trying Mr cod, sort of a last minute decision as no one fancied a roast because of the weather. So we decided fish n chips and with our usual local chippy closed we chose to give me cod a try and we weren't disappointed. I had haddock, the wifey a kebab and chips, mum cod n chips and my lil sister sausage and chips. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed there food. We ordered and collected in store. Was reasonable prices and decent size portions all round. A real light crisp batter and both fish cooked fresh. Friendly counter service too."

"I have tried many curry houses over the years. Indioz tick All the boxes. The front of house Shaheed and waitress Lauren make us all feel welcome and nothing is too much effort. THey also hosted our company Christmas meal which was fiftieth, tasty and fantastic value of money. "In Reading, it seems like there's a Mr Cod on every corner, but who knows if that's true? Not that it matters to me - all I care about is satisfying my craving for chicken, and Mr Cod always delivers. They serve up delicious fried chicken, crispy chips, and refreshing fizzy drinks with the efficiency you'd expect. Despite the limited communication behind masks and Perspex, the staff handle it all with grace. It's hard to strike up a conversation with other customers, who are too absorbed in their phones, but that's just the way things are these days. As I wait for my order, my mind drifts back to simpler times, but I'm brought back to the present when my food is handed to me. I weave through the crowd of delivery drivers and head out into the night, knowing I'll be back at Mr Cod before long. But for now, I am happy and content with a box of fried chicken in hand - nothing can bring me down!"

"I was not too impressed with the order that I had from this chip shop. The cost being the major factor of my low review. I understand that right now in the UK, prices have gone up and therefore cost of takeaways need to go up aswell in order to make some money from their sales. But, the cost of £33.50 for a large portion of chips, 2 bits of fish, and 1 battered sausage in my opinion is simply too expensive. Which also worsened my experience, was for a large portion (which states for 3 people), it could probably do only about 2 people if that. I will say however, the staff were very friendly, and the food itself was actually pretty good. The chips were well cooked, as was the fish. Regardless of the good points mentioned, I do not currently recommend this fish and chip shop due to the cost and portion sizes. If they were to increase the portion size, and reduce the cost (even by a slight amount), my review would change."
