"I would like to clarify straight off the bat that the five star review is for the chip shop portion of the shop only. There’s a lot of chat online about how this place does the best pizzas in Edinburgh. Well that’s up for debate. Granted, the pizzas are better than your standard chip shop pizza but I would be hesitant to claim these are the best pizzas in Edinburgh. I would have no problem however, claiming that this is one of the best places for fish and chips in Edinburgh. I would serve these chips at my wedding. Exactly what you’re looking for when you’re looking for a typical chippy and none of this posh chips hipster nonsense. Their battered sausage is nothing short of perfection. I’m vegetarian but I had to make an exception for the battered sausag- ok I’m not really but you get the point. The battered haddock is also superb. One of my top 3 chippies in Edinburgh."

"We finally made it to Giggling Squid for a family meal. We asked for the separate veggie/vegan menu, and the vegan dishes are labelled, and there're lots of them! We had the vegetarian sharing platter to start-I was particularly impressed with the corn fritters and oyster mushroom tempura, but it was all lovely. For my main, I had the exotic mushroom Gra Pao, with brown rice (you select your rice or noodles separately). It was nice, but I didn't really notice any mushrooms in it! I also had a little try of the Massaman curry, which again was delicious. They advised to order a portion of rice per person, but we felt that half each, or around 3 between the 5 of us might have suffice-it depends how much you each/how many courses, etc! Sadly, there are currently no vegan desserts, but we were full from our starter and mains. The prices are slightly higher than other similar places, but the food was lovely, and the service we received was great, with helpful staff."

"I recently dined at a restaurant that offers vegan and vegetarian options. I tried the Sweetcorn Cakes, Vegetable Glass Noodle, and Cocktail Solid, and was pleased with the variety of tasty authentic Thai dishes. The prices were reasonable. The Sweetcorn Cakes were delicious - chewy, crispy, sweet, and savory. The Vegetable Glass Noodle was good, but I wished the portion was larger. The ambience was lively, with a mix of traditional Thai and modern decor. The service was quick, and the staff were accommodating to our vegan requirements. Despite being part of a chain, the food was great and the prices were fair. I would recommend this restaurant for a night out for delicious Thai cuisine and cocktails. I do hope they expand their vegan options in the future."

"We booked a table a week in advance for a special family birthday on New Year’s Day at 6.30pm. We arrived on time. There was no table specifically reserved despite us requesting a nice table for the birthday meal. The service was awful. We waited half an hour to order drinks and food. We waited an hour for our starters. Some of the drinks we ordered didn’t arrive. The food was good but the poor service spoiled what was meant to be a special occasion. Despite us having booked a table, other diners who arrived after us ordered and received their food long before us. The manager said they were short staffed but they were accepting bookings and people without bookings in spite of this. Really disappointing."

"Don't judge a book by it's cover, this place may not look like much from passing, but we were pleasantly surprised with the place once entered. The atmosphere was a bit lacking, although this is hardly surprising as we visited mid pandemic, the decor made up for this, with a very homely ambiance. The food was overall appetizing, the starters could have had a bit more oomph to them but were enjoyable none the less. The mains, however, did not suffer the same fate, we had no complaints and left us feeling sated. Cheap and cheerful, would recommend for fun little meal out."

"As a group of 16 we attended this restaurant for a Christmas party, we arrived at 6.30pm and asked if our tables could be split to make the bills easier. The drinks and starters took over 45mins to order and arrive, and our other table were served first and the drinks and starters all arrived where as no one has come to even take our order from us.We then had to wait over 2 hours for the mains to arrive, again there was a 20 min gap between the two tables, when we eventually received our mains the other table has finished eating!All our mains arrived cold, some were sent back to be re-warmed. Then a friend found a curly hair imbedded into the naan bread, we informed the assistant manager who came over and advised us that she could not see a hair, she then ran down to the kitchen only to say that there was nobody in the kitchen with curly hair so it could not be one of her staff, after firstly saying there was no hair in the first place. She then advised us that it must have been off the brushes that they brush the food with however this hair was long and curly and was imbedded within the food. We were so disgusted with the food and service no one ate any of the food, we paid for our drinks and left.We were also advised by the assistant manager that if we were unhappy with the food we should have said from the start if not we were not to come back! Our whole party advised at the start that they were unhappy with the cold food that we had to wait over 2 hours for!Id you are looking for a indian restaurant with good food and excellent service stay away from this one!"

"Went as a party of 4 for dinner on our first night of a weekend in Bath after the restaurant being recommended by friends who have dined there before saying it was the best food they had tasted outside of Thailand. So, was expecting great things and boy did it deliver. The sharing platters as starters were amazing, So much flavour and the presentation was top notch. The mains were out of this world. I had Pad Kee Mao it was so good I bought the cookbook to replicate at home. Everyone in our party couldn't say enough good things about the food. The guy serving us was brilliant, great personality, fantastic sense of humour and nothing was too much trouble. Also had a beautiful Buddhist watch you know who you are). If you get the chance go, it's awesome. Just make sure to book in advance."

"I never normally write a review, let alone give a bad one, but due to my very bad experience, I felt it was necessary to write a review. I visited giggling squid a couple of years back and enjoyed my meal, so for my birthday my partner took me to the giggling squid on Friday 28th of April 2023. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao meal, unfortunately my second visit this time left me suffering from extremely bad food poisoning in the early hours of the following morning. I contacted the restaurant later that day, and spoke with the manager, who was apologetic, took my contact details and informed me that head office would be in touch that week. I've had no contact since. After posting a review on google. The manage at Farnham restaurant, replied confirming that such cases (Food Poisoning) are taken seriously and that their head-office will be contacting me that month in April. Two weeks into May 2023 and still no contact from the so called Head office. I am appalled that the restaurant feels the best way to deal with Food Poisoning is to ignore it."

"10 10 would return. I had battered haddock for supper and it was amazing. The portion is very generous. As a 165lb 75kg person I entered the restaurant starving and left full. Neither the fish nor the chips are too oily. The haddock was fresh, soft and steamy hot. Residing next to the water, you can get a beautiful window view of the boats. The servers were very friendly and initiates small talk (remember to tip them). The fitting is nice and the bathroom stalls are surprisingly clean. The only set back is the price. My meal plus coke cost £16 so this is not the best place for broke college students like me. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Definitely worth a visit."

"Another wee gem hidden away in Falkirk. Went with my children, they had vanilla and chocolate. Hearty portions! I had Ferrero Rocher and it was fab and coffee was amazing. "We used to be regular customers at this restaurant and would order from here weekly. However, over time, we noticed a decrease in the quality of the food and the deliveries were consistently late. There was never any apology for the delays, and when we inquired, we were rudely informed that they were too busy to hire more drivers. This resulted in longer wait times for customers. One time, we received an order that was so bad in taste and quality that we complained and were promised a free replacement. When we tried to place the next order, they initially refused to honor the agreement and attempted to charge us. Even after confirming that the next order should be free, they called back and asked for half payment. Another order arrived late with half of the meal missing. When we called to complain, the person on the phone was incredibly rude and unapologetic, stating that they were too busy. After demanding the rest of our meal, we were told it would take half an hour, but no delivery arrived. When we called back, we were informed that it would be another half hour. This level of service was completely unacceptable and consistently rude. The employee even went as far as saying that they didn't have a driver and didn't care if we never ordered from them again. We were shocked by his attitude. As a result, we have not ordered from this restaurant again, and we know others who have experienced similar issues. We highly recommend avoiding this establishment."

"This is my second time giving a one-star review. I decided to review this place and brought a friend along with me because I heard it was a great spot for Thai food. I'll keep this brief. We went for lunch and there was only one other couple there. We ordered a bottle of New Zealand white wine but received a bottle of cheap white wine instead. When I mentioned this, the waiter said it was all they had. I asked the waiter for food recommendations but he couldn't suggest anything. We ordered four dishes and each one came out warm and quickly. I requested fresh chilis but was given sweet chili sauce instead. The waiter never checked on us during our meal and instead sat watching something on his laptop. Overall, I was very disappointed with this place, especially after reading the great reviews."

"In general, I would advise against ordering Chinese food from Farewell to Bristol, as I’ve had many disappointing experiences with it being too fatty and salty. However, Aromas is fantastic! The food tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful, and I really enjoyed it. It arrived slightly earlier than the expected delivery time, which was a nice surprise, but I would have happily waited the full hour. I will definitely be ordering from them again!"
