"We had to cancel our major holiday so decided to stay in a couple of lovely hotels in the UK and booked this hotel but have been so disappointed, especially the food on offer. One our first night, we went in full of anticipation and very hungry after a six hour drive from the Wirral. The whole meal was the worst one we have ever eaten. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy but we had to wait a long while for the food to arrive. My asparagus and wild garlic soup was ghastly. It was vibrant green but was overpowered by the garlic and was watery , with no substance, so I sent it right back. I had requested the skate wing in advance as I overheard someone saying there was only one portion left. I wish I hadn’t bothered. It came with a huge pile on cold seaweed , :3 barely cooked halves of potatoes, no leeks and the few buttered shrimps were not buttered. This fish was grey and overcooked and after 2 mouthfuls, I sent it back. My husband’s ‘ torched’ mackerel was cold, overcooked and tasteless and the accompanying vegetables had no dressing at all. He ordered the pork which was a 4 cm round and had to saw through it as it was so tough. Also there were only a few drops of ‘jus’. The restaurant manager was very apologetic and said she would report it back. I went to bed hungry and unhappy. , which was a shame on our anniversary. The breakfast was ok but the sausages were well overcooked and tough and we specified soft fried eggs but they were solid. The adorable Kas apologised and promised soft ones next time. We played safe last night and ordered Theo chicken pies in advance but when they came , one was beef and the poor Manager couldn’t believe it but we ate them as they take 30 minutes to cook. They were very tasty but the gravy was a beef one.!! Surely it’s easy to prepare some chicken gravy. The desserts were nice. We spoke to several other guests who all said they were disappointed in the food. I did speak to James, who’ll is the Manager who told me he had read the report from the dining room. On leaving I was told there was a £5 supplement and £31 for the wine. I would definitely not eat there again. The nicest thing about the restaurant was Kas’s lovely smile and excellent service."

"We had an excellent evening at the restaurant. We were seated in the airy bar area and enjoyed reviewing the menu and wine list while sipping on a delicious gin and tonic. We were presented with a three-course menu as it was the festive season. The menu offered a good selection of meat, fish, and vegetarian options, although it was not extensive like the impressive wine list. The food was tastefully presented with reasonable portion sizes, some may find them small but they didn't leave us feeling bloated. We were pleasantly surprised by the warm nuts and bread with different spreads, including a delicious blue cheese spread which we enjoyed despite not being fans of blue cheese. We ordered tomato gazpacho with sun-dried tomatoes and blackened halibut for starters, followed by cod and venison for mains, all of which were cooked to perfection. For dessert, we chose the soufflé, which was also perfectly cooked. We paired our meal with a rose from Provence and a pinot noir from the Loire Valley. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere with well-spaced tables and live piano music. The service was attentive but not overbearing, even though the restaurant was busy. We ended the evening with tea, coffee, petit fours, and a nightcap. Overall, it was a lovely evening and we highly recommend this restaurant."

"Made plans to come here for lunch after a morning visit to Camera Obscura which is just a little way up the mile. Been here before years ago loved it…love it still! Great ambience, fantastic service and amazing food all hot, fresh and tasty. Large portions too! I can definitely recommend the haggis bites they’re delicious. Shout out to our sever Sophie who was lovely; welcoming, friendly efficient. Love this place will return."

"Quilon has a lot going for it a Michelin star, great service, excellent food that allows its patrons to explore novel dishes that draw inspiration from coastal south Indian cuisine. However, the only reason I'm docking a star is that this place needs a bit of an overhaul. The ambience feels dated and is unimpressive, the attention to detail is lacking (our drab white dining table cloth had stains from a previous meal, there were fingerprint stains on the wall). Overall, it feels like the place is in serious need of renovations. Nonetheless, the team is doing an excellent job with the food and the service, and that is something I greatly appreciated. Would recommend visiting for the food!"

"this was once a goal resturant, as it has stood in mumbai and london also had one in new delhi. it is not maintained with the time. decor was bad with dirty carpets and eating on the floor. only two waiters for the entire dinner service. the food was full salt and the naan was not prepared in a traditional tandoor over. my family visited the sites in neu delhi and mumbai and expected a similar environment in london. sad I will not return."

"I made a reservation for 4 tonight without realizing we actually needed 6 seats. The staff was so accommodating kind about it. I wanted to say thank you to the servers on tonight (specifically the girl with the hufflepuff tattoo) because I know it can be really frustrating when a mistake like this happens! she was incredibly welcoming and made it work for us. The food was also delicious the atmosphere was friendly homey! Thank you times a million for a great night the best servers !!"

"I opted for the healthiest thing on the menu! Not like me but I felt like my body needed it, it was immense, so many flavours on one plate with lovely grilled chicken Staff were super friendly and attentive especially to my elderly mum in her wheelchair My mum is a super complainer and she never moaned once, so that's a feat in itself, well done lol"

"Had breakfast there on Sunday. Great choice of food and nice place inside. Coffee was a bit lacking in flavour though, and my full breakfast, although tasty, was all different teperatures. Sausages, pancake and potatoes were hot but eggs, tomato and bacon were pretty cold. Would expect all ingredients to be kept warm and plated together? Will go there again though and hope for better luck next time, as overall was still pleasant."

"This is the first time that I have been to Quilon in many months because of Covid but I was delighted to be back. The food is as good as ever and the service charming and unobtrusive and I was pleased to see that they had added some really creative cocktails to their list. All in all, we had a lovely evening and I hope to return soon."

"Want to eat with celebrities? Looking for a posh but affordable place to eat? Want good portion sizes? Looking for fresh authentic Italian food? We got the set lunch menu in the Italian restaurant THREE COURSES £26.00. Which one do you like best (1/2/3)? Comment below Before you go they ask you to send a picture of yourself so they can recognise you when you walk through the door. While waiting for our food they gave us a cup of soup, bread and breadsticks; we made a bit of mess with the crumbs but the waiters came and cleared it with this metal crumb remover fancy). Starter: TAGLIOLINI WITH SLOW COOKED TOMATO FROM GRANANO AND SHEEP RICOTTA Main: TONNARELLI WITH VEAL RAGOUT This didnt look the best but tasted fantastic Desert: TIRAMISU no complaints at all, you have to try this!!!! I would definitely go here again this is the best service I have received so far! I was definitely full when I left. They try to make sure the food is as fresh as possible. They had a display of all the vegetables and fish; the colours were amazing. The restaurant is beautiful inside there are trees in big plant pots, sky lights and candle chandeliers. Getting the set lunch menu meant it was really quiet when we went I believe it gets quite busy in the evenings. Also Drake was dining in the private dining room next to us! Good Italian comfort food indeed. Ratings out of 10: Taste: 9 Service: 10 (I was happy to pay the 15% service charge) Price: 7 Presentation: 8"

"this is a new-ish curry house that was taken over by the mehak. it is worth visiting, as both eating and personal are hard to impress. more and more Indian restruanten go for the super-Blande and brown gravy angle than when they buy their food wholesale from 'iceland' this eat tastes authentic and in-house but on the 3 insass I was, they have managed to repeat the meal (I know boring! on the same standard over and over again. I recommend it."

"The food was good, but the service was lacking. We waited for over 45 minutes for our starters to be served, even after informing the staff multiple times that the wait was unacceptable. It appeared that larger groups were being given priority."

"Couples visit for a birthday on a quiet Wednesday evening. Was hoping for a great meal as it 's the first time we 've managed to get out since having a baby 3 weeks ago and organising childcare etc is always tough. 10mins after ordering we were told the starter that was labelled 'Gluten Free ' isn 't actually gluten free and was mislabelled on the menu so my partner had to change her order which of course is disappointment. Concerning as this was only caught as our waitress double checked with the chef. I had ordered bread and olives for starter however only the the bread was brought out until the manager noticed I was missing the olives, oil, vinegar and side plates. They had also brought my 'half starter ' out without my partner having anything brought out. The mains were prompt and tasty albeit very expensive for the steak. The wait staff were uncommunicative and apart from the manager seemed oblivious to our issues. Disappointed that nothing was taken off the bill and there was even the default 10% service charge added! Not one to kick up a fuss but won 't be returning."

"There are many places to choose from in Holt to have lunch, but we both thought that The Kings Head looked a great place for a bite and drink. I'm so glad we picked there as we had very tasty sandwiches, served with salad, coleslaw, and French fries. I opted for a BLT on granary, which was definitely one of the best BLTs I've ever had. Be warned that you need a good appetite as we each only managed half of our sandwiches. The portions are extremely generous. We ate in the restaurant, which has been decorated for autumn, and it looked lovely. Both the bar and table service were excellent and very friendly. As I couldn't eat my sandwich, they wrapped it up to take it out. If this was local to us, we'd definitely be regular visitors. I have no hesitation in highly recommending. To get good food and goid service is great. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit."

"as you all should know, this girl loves to eat her! So I wanted to try something else I didn't have before. so yak yeti was your turn. I ordered online, although the restaurant is like a 5-minute drive away, (feeling fazy did not want to go to dress up, etc.) so I decided for my starter networks. the food was delivered within 30 minutes, it was still hot, bonus! container that they used were very good, so no spillage at all. popadoms were crispy, went nice with the dips. regarding eating, not only did it look delicious, it also melts delicious. then I tried and o to the m to the g, it was spicy, too spicy in the did that I continued to eat. my mouth has broken the food, as I said, looked delicious, so I tried another gift from the dish shot, still too spicy. Now I have no taste at all, but it is a Nepalese restaurant that they use spiced by many species, I guess. but whatever they use is too spicy for me, if I tried to continue, I would later be in jeopardy, because my just don't do spicy food. as a girl who loves to eat, I will not destroy this restaurant just because I cannot tolerate spicy foods. in future I will notify the restaurant to add not seasoned over very mild to future orders. this restaurant has a very good high review online so I encourage them to try it for themselves, just remember that eating can be sharp. otherwise they hope a wonderful day! love as always justine xxx styleoutyourhome"

"The restaurant has a cozy Art Deco feel and an entrance area flows into a rustic barn for the main seating. There is also an upstairs overflow for larger groups. The service was attentive and polite without being too interruptive. The food was exquisitely prepared and presented but large appetites may require all three courses. We shared a pigeon and beetroot starter and chocolate marquise dessert with coffee ice cream and had two mains of chicken and venison in a jus with potatoes and a few veggies, which was sufficient for our smaller needs. The beers are averagely priced but the wines are a little more expensive, in line with the food, which still represents good value given the attention to detail, quality and ambience. From around 8.15 pm an acoustic guitarist played mellow tunes in the background. The songs rose in popularity as the evening unfolded with the audience applauding every number by the time they were into their second bottle of wine! A top restaurant for an occasion or a special night out."
