"A disturbing experience with the service, once again. I had hoped that things would improve now that the challenges posed by COVID are largely behind us. However, the staff here still show little interest in assisting with orders or offering any recommendations. The waitress practically tossed the menus onto our table. We found ourselves having to wave our hands just to get their attention, which is unacceptable, especially given the high price of around £100. This behavior contradicts the beautiful Japanese culture of hospitality and warmth, making the experience incredibly disappointing."

"This restaurant in London consistently serves fresh and delicious sushi at a fraction of the price of Nobu. It is truly a hidden gem and offers quality sushi that rivals that of Nobu."

"I wondered why this restaurant described itself on the board outside as ‘fusion’, why there were so many Korean dishes on the menu and why the serving staff have heard of Asahi beer but haven’t heard of The Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper that is at least 50 years old. The answer is that the Akasaka website isn’t being completely honest when it describes their Northampton branch as a Japanese restaurant. They aren’t really Japanese, although some of their menu items are clearly Japanese. Don’t let that put you off, however, as they are serving excellent food and we enjoyed our meal there very much. It cost us about £70 (inc. 10% tip) for our meal for two people including a 175ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc for my lovely wife and two 330ml bottles of Asahi Dry for me. The sushi was excellent, the edamame beans were great but we didn’t feel that the Dolsot Bibimbap (a Korean dish with loads of rice, some shredded vegetables, prawns and a fried egg on top) offered very good value for money at just under sixteen pounds. We would recommend Akasaka in Northampton and would certainly go there again, but if we want a genuinely Japanese meal, prepared and served by Japanese staff, then we will be sticking to Ginza Restaurant on Wellingborough Road in Northampton. Don’t like the way that the male members of staff at Sakura on Bridge Street speak to their female colleagues, very disrespectful, so we avoid that Japanese restaurant nowadays. Great to have a choice of three Japanese restaurants in Northampton post-pandemic, and our favourite of the three is Ginza."

"Absolutely average restaurant. Dirty bamboo table mats and super dirty windows, kinda sad to look out of them. Impatient service, who under 6 minutes 5 times came back trying to pressure me to take my order. I was confused as I thought it was a restaurant not a fast food place. Silly me who used to live in Japan though the menu is just like there, with pictures. How wrong I was...So getting my phone to have a look at their website, what kinda different that in the restaurant menu card one. When I tried to ask for reconditions, I didn't get any, she just straight away took the last what I asked. The steamed algae was very nice, but my noodle soup was a big surprise, as I have no idea what's roasted (burned) pepper and massive chunks of onions doing there? It's supposed to be sea food, but instead just some burned vegetables scared with frozen octopus, mussels and mini calamari rings poured up with chicken broth. So yeah, kinda disappointing. Drink wise I asked the waitress do they have any tonic water as it isn't listed on the menu card, she looked at me like I am a weirdo. I asked for Roku gin what is my favourite. On the receipt was counted as an extra pound because Japanese. Lol, no comment. Getting the drinks, from other restaurants you get the spirit on the rocks in the glass and front of you they pouring the mixer drink from the mini bottle. Here not, just straight away together as it comes. Oh and don't bother asking without lemon, because you are getting one either way. So Akasaka restaurant did not become my favourite one. Once and last. Easily can be forgotten. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £20–30 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4"

"My hubby treated us both to the Carvery lunch in Harrod's Georgian Restaurant. We had a buyagift voucher. WOW! It was lovely. The atmosphere was fab. The staff were friendly and not overbearing. We had an amazing selection of starters. Fish, meat, a variety of salads, cheeses, breads, the list is endless. We then had the most delicious carvery lunch the meat was the best I have ever tasted! It's well worth a visit. Go on treat yourself!!!!"

"This was my first visit and for my first visit, I brought alone my family and best friend and his family. As we all love Japanese food, our expectation was high. There was a great selection to choose from which also caters for people who is not a Sushi fan with rice, noodles and BBQ meals. The service was great, not too short, where you keep asking for more time, and not too long where you wished you went somewhere else. The food arrived hot and very well presented and you best come hungry as there is plenty of it. The Sushi is really fresh and very tasty. I would highly recommend this restaurant for value for money, great food and friendly surrounding."

"hi sushi salsa is a Japanese restaurant located next to the chain lock, and the famous camden market. There is a lot of atmosphere especially on weekends when it is good time, and you can take advantage of tables on the outside terrace to eat on the water shore. Inside, it is a very modern space, with dark colors, a cocktail bar of Latin and Asian influences. because the restaurant mixes sushi, fusion cuisine, creative, with Japanese inspiration. the midday menu is served until 18:00, and the kitchen closes at 22 hours. It's joto behind the starbucks when you leave the city subway and go to the market. The weekend there's live music, a dj, and they take tables so you can dance. I can imagine the sushi bars on the west coast of the United States, which mix Latin culture with a healthy fresh fish meal."

"Shimogano opened in 2013 in a parade of shops on Camden Parkway. It is named after an ancient Kyoto Shinto shrine that is a UNESCO world heritage site. The restaurant has a small dining area and bar at ground level, the main dining room being in the basement. The décor is fairly basic, and the restaurant serves a wide variety of Japanese cuisine styles, from sushi to tempura to noodles and beyond. This slightly scattergun approach is normal in London but unusual in Japan, where most restaurants specialise, sometimes to an extreme degree e.g. some restaurants serve only eel, or only tonkatsu. It must be difficult for any restaurant to really master such a wide menu. See more at:...read more"

"I'm at a loss for words. It could be amazing. I had made a reservation, but then they called to tell me they were closed. I appreciate the heads up, but it would be preferable if they didn't advertise as open when they're not."

"I ordered takeout sushi for a party. They were beautifully presented and you can have your own choice or a mix recommended by the restaurant which is very convenient. The service was excellent. I asked for a specific time for collection, the food was there without delay and they were freshly made only minutes before. The food was very tasty."

"The restaurant was closed and no one contacted us. We had planned to celebrate my mum's 60th birthday there, so we were really disappointed. Thankfully, we found Sushinoen, a restaurant just a 13-minute walk away, which saved our night. The Japanese food was amazing and authentic, highly recommended. We will not be trying Kirin restaurant again and do not recommend it to anyone."

"this small, family-run Japanese restaurant is a hidden gem. the service is imperfect, but very polite to add the charm of the place. the menu is relatiw classic with taking some scrub rolls. one is the house roll (educated), which contains a lot of fish and is quite large cut. the actual excerpt was the horse mackerel sashimi (figurative). beautifully presented and extremely fresh and delicious! I would recommend this place to anyone who is close to the opposite and wants a high-quality No-Frills Japanese meal."

"My family and I visited this restaurant once again for a delicious meal, and we were not disappointed. The food had delicate flavors and was fresh, and the service was discreet. Akemi herself oversees all the cooking, ensuring high standards and consistency. I realized that my first review was over 10 years ago, which is a testament to the quality of this place. The menu has been reduced, indicating that the food is prepared fresh. They have a large selection of sake, which I appreciate as someone who is sensitive to alcohol but never experiences headaches with sake. I will be returning tonight and look forward to another great dining experience."

"Customer Service needs attention ! I decided to visit for the second time and give them a chance, unfortunately one Sunday at 9:30 pm they said :they don't serve anymore. so I arrived yesterday, Thursday, at 8:30 p.m., I got a menu, asked for water..for the next 15 minutes no one was interested in taking the order, I decided to ask a passing waiter if I could order, then he took out his notebook and took the order, he came back and changed the table number on my card. after over 45 minutes my order was still not there, I asked the manager for the boy's name and to check if he had sent the order. After another 5 minutes, Ryan waiter who took the order came and instead of apologizing that he forgot, he claimed that they had a lot of orders on Deliveroo. I left hungry after an hour and I didn't even hear an apology. I give this place a poor rating, no section, no system in the place no one pays attention to the person sitting alone without food, where there are 5 tables occupied in the rest, the manager does not even exist in the room, poor service and unfortunately I did not manage to eat here for the second time."
