Creamy and tangy blend, perfect for enhancing flavors; ideal for dipping fries, veggies, or chicken nuggets.

"this place was so disappointing. great looking menu, but bad quality, lazily-made food to freky preisen. the broth for the soups was clear stick cubes, with this artificial, oversalted taste. if they want to have a pho restaurant, they should at least disturb to make their own act. we were a big group and tried such a series of foods, each of which was tasteless. the ping of the microwave from the kitchen was a bell of short cuts in the kitchen. the early rolls were lump grated carrots in the wound baked, without the light aromas should they have - no single, no idea of flavor or taste. the same applies both to bark and vegetarian pho and to fried rice. I would have felt a short change at half the price, but at over a tens per court it was laughing. we'll never be back, they'll stay away and save money and disappointment."

"The Rose and Crown in Chorleywood (note the location on the common, not the pub of the same name on the Harefield side of Rickmansworth) has long been known for excellent food, a good selection of beer, and the hospitality of the landlord and landlady. After lockdown it opened again for drinks, operating under careful but pragmatic restrictions. The restaurant at the back of the pub has been converted into a drinks area (as it used to be many years ago). Food has not been available until last week and the return is a triumph. Gone are the excellent steaks, pies, fish etc. to be replaced by a thoughtful tapas menu. We have eaten there twice since the resumption, both occasions proving excellent. Highlights included salmon ceviche (very fresh and tangy), sweet and sour spare ribs, a delightful lamb rump with a garlic dipping sauce, and octopus. Also added to the full menu is the traditional backed camembert (with the addition of roast garlic and an onion chutney, sweet potatoes fries, and pork belly. All the dishes are tasty, filling and innovative. There is also a small selection of afters, but so far I have not ventured there. We were told that the sticky toffee pudding is superb. Another advantage is that the food is a good excuse to explore Jeff’s wine list. We had an excellent Portuguese red blend. Capacity is down during the Covid-madness, so booking as advised. This will become more of an issue as word of the food gets out and the weather turns less favourable (there is some outdoor seating). One traditional touch is that punters are trusted to add a tip as they see fit, not be subjected to the ‘discretionary but dare to complain’ service charge seen in other local establishments (see my other recent review). The staff are diligent in cleaning the tables between guests and all the regulations seem to be followed. Great to have this favourite back."

"A colleague took me here for lunch whilst I was at a meeting in Birmingham, as they knew I was vegan. This is a nice place with a coffee shop at the front and then more restaurant seating at the back. They have lots of vegan options here. I tried the Falafel Platter which I chose to have with Baba Ghanuuj as a dip. Batata Hara which are fried potato cubes topped with a chilli mix sauce with a hint of paprika The highlight were the Mushroom Kibbeh Makliya, which are bulgur wheat croquettes stuffed with a mushroom mix, chilli flakes, walnuts and a herb blend. Great place for lunch, I will definitely go back if in the area. Updated from previous review on 2023-11-18"

"I went for lunch at the restaurant on recommendation from one of our group who is Chinese. As two of us are learning Chinese, we wanted to have a taste of authentic Chinese food and also attempt to speak some Mandarin.... The manager was very patient with us : Despite past experiences of a few Chinese takeaways and mediocre Chinese buffets in Leicester, I went with an open mind. The restaurant looks so unassuming from the outside and if you live in the city, you may have as I have passed it several times totally unaware of it 's brilliance. In the restaurant most no, all bar two of us dining there were Chinese, many of whom were students. Do not let that put you off! It was certainly a positive thing as the food was so good. We didn 't feel out of place at all and had good service. The interior is small, maybe 9 or so tables but it didn 't feel cramped even though tables are quite close. The menu has both Chinese and English descriptions so do not fear! Make a note of the numbers beside each dish so you can remember you favourite dishes for next time. It was overwhelming to see so many dishes on the menu and we struggled to decide what to choose as we wanted much more than we could eat! There were some unusual options like frog and offal but hey, it 's good to be open minded and appreciate other cultures. Once we (finally! chose our food, it came out in about 10 or so minutes! Some dishes we had included: *Sliced lamb with green spring onion in a sauce (super succulent and tasty! *Shanghai style pork cutlets (think German schnitzel/Japanese tonkatsu. Basically breaded pork chops cut into strips. This was a ma zing. Crispy, not at all greasy and the sweet dipping sauce?! So so good! *couple of small bowls rice one veg and one mixed meat and seafood one with the juiciest prawns. We shared the food between us. They will give cutlery but have a go at the chopsticks first! I am no expert but we all insisted on trying and it was great fun even though rice was a bit tricky to handle! Tips: *If you ask for water it will be tap water at room temperature so remember to ask for ice if you want it. *rice goes un the small bowl and if you choose plain rice it is refillable! Think of it as a bottomless bowl (ask the staff which one on it is on the menu *scan the QR code on the menu for any discounts available via the WeChat app *don 't get caught out, take enough cash or it 's a trek to the nearest ATM! *be adventurous and try something different on the menu beyond chow mein and special fried rice. *share your dishes with friends it makes it so much more fun *take a copy of the FULL list menu from the counter, not just the short list of British favourites you will be coming back or ordering takeaway from here."

"I had high hopes for this restaurant based on the reviews but Unfortunately I can’t say I very much enjoyed my first and potentially last trip to Sabroso. Firstly let me say that we got the food as a takeaway. Now, I’m not a big fan of writing bad reviews. I would rather write a review praising the establishment to allow others to try as we have. However, we were mislead by the reviews and feel that maybe we caught them on a bad day. Nevertheless we had a bad experience. We started with some soft chicken tacos which *spoiler alert* were the best thing that we tried. The flavour was great. The meat quantity was perfect. A great little starter if you’re willing to share. I was getting really excited at this point. However, it’s a slow decline from here. The fried jalapeños were not great. Felt and tasted manufactured if I’m quite honest and with the chilli dip to go with it, which was most certainly ‘crucials extra hot chilli sauce’ that you get in most takeaways these days, I was feeling slightly let down. You would think a Mexican/ tex mex restaurant would at least make a good chilli sauce. For the main, I had a Beef Chilli burrito, which I asked to be made a little spicier, and it Was flavourless. Mainly tasted like cheese and was packed with rice, which I understand that’s what a burrito should be But there was barely any meat/ chilli. I was thinking if my chicken tacos were that tasty I can’t wait for the burrito but it was bland. No flavour to the Mexican rice and there wasn’t any spice to be found. I was very disappointed to say the least. The missus had chicken enchiladas and had this to say: large portion with a substantial amount of chicken but could only really taste tomatoes. Too saucy and rather flavourless. The onion rings and sweet potato fries tasted like they came from a packet. Overall a solid 2 out of 5. I had high hopes from the reviews but it really wasn’t much to shout about. Nothing really Mexican in sight except the tacos. Do not let our review stop you from trying the food for yourselves and maybe you’ll have a better experience If you eat in the restaurant rather than a takeaway. Enjoy yourselves. Nick and Becky."

"It is always difficult to find Thai restaurants in England that haven’t had the food overly ‘westernised’ ie. made too sweet and generally had the distinct flavours softened for the apparently fragile western palate. For those who want to experience genuine Thai cuisine this is bad news. Saying that, I enjoyed my meal here at the Pusanon Thai restaurant in Crowborough. The ambience is pretty standard but perfectly fine. We visited during a mid-week lunchtime so was not busy and the lady serving was pleasant and efficient. The classic Prik Nam Pla dipping sauce was the genuine article which is always an encouraging sign. The 2 course £10.50 set lunchtime menu seems very good value for nowadays. We did order a couple of extra dishes from the a la carte menu though and in my greedy opinion they were needed(we were a party of 3). It has a reasonable choice of some of the most popular dishes. Though it suffers from the point I make at the beginning of this review it is better than many I have experienced and the ingredients were fresh. I wouldn’t make a special journey to do so but I would happily eat here again."

"Not from the area and after passing may times booked for my mum's 70th birthday. Our whole experience as a family was fantastic. We had great service from staff who accommodated all of our requests. The food was delicious. We go on family holidays to Italy and the atmosphere in the restaurant was reminiscent of the relaxed, family, sociable eating experienced there. The food food was very reasonably priced if you go before 6pm. We will definitely be back! We eat out a lot as a family and I am surprised at the bad reviews of some people. My advice is take it as you find it."

"Located in the heart of Southampton's student area, Mango is a friendly and affordable option for a neighbourhood restaurant. Despite the potential clientele from the nearby University, there are few options like Mango in the area. The menu offers Thai tapas, featuring small plates of traditional Thai dishes. We tried a variety of dishes including phad thai, dim sum (pork pot stickers), spring rolls, and prawn tempura. The food was decent overall, with the prawn tempura being the standout dish. The cocktails were also enjoyable, although the fruit juices may not have been freshly squeezed. The restaurant itself is lively and colorful, although the tables are a bit cramped together, especially in the front section. It can also get quite warm inside. Overall, Mango is a good addition to the local dining scene, and we would consider returning for a late meal or lunch in the future."

"I think some of the menu items are overpriced for the quality. Generally the main was the best, I got the veg gyoza ramen, gutted they no longer do the cod or prawn ramen. The starter was okay, chilli squid, I don 't think it was particularly well cooked and it came out warm, but the dipping sauce was nice. The dessert was sadly the most disappointing I 've had in any restaurant, I don 't often do desserts but this one sounded really good on the menu. The chouxnut . It was like one of those cream chouxbuns that end up in the reduced section at Asda. It tasted chemically, it was very clearly not fresh, and it was very small. I resented spending £7 on something similar to a £1 reduced item at Asda. Vegetarian options: There aren 't a huge amount of options, and sadly the pescetarian options are also greatly reduced."

"The sandwiches, chips and coleslaw served for lunch in the bar area are lovely. We had lunch in the cosy lounge area. The food is ordered at the bar and then brought out to your table. Service at lunch was quick and efficient. There are socially distancing measures in place and a 2 m queuing system at the bar. After lunch we went for a walk along the cliffs and thought we would return for afternoon tea. However, the table we had sat at for lunch had been cleared away but the table had not been cleaned down, with some salt we had accidently spilt at lunch still on the table. There was a long queue at the bar and service was so slow that we eventually gave up and left. They need more staff on on an afternoon as well as making sure that tables are cleaned down and sanitized between customers in these covid-19 times."

"tl;dr Best onion rings in the world and good branch of Honest to try them in On those occasions when I am in London with work and need to get a meal by myself Honest Burgers Warren Street is my go to location. I've always enjoyed the brand and am extra pleased that the one close to me is extra good. In the last few years the number of vegetarian and vegan options have increased, and although the vegetable fritter is a fine choice the Teriyaki vegan burger is so tasty. You can swap the vegan cheese for cheddar and then enjoy that juicy, cheesy, delight with the peppers and sauce. The other reason Honest is my go to place when I am by myself is so I don't have to share the onion rings. Onion rings are not all equal and Honest have the best in the world that I have tried. Big rings of onion, generous batter and a delightfully interesting flavour from the flour in the batter. Warren Street is a good branch there are larger tables and small 2 person booths as well as a bar stool area. I've always found the staff to be really friendly, checking for allergies and that everything is good with the meal, and also making good recommendations. You can get in and out in 30 minutes if you need to (arriving at 7pm) or take your time and order another portion of onion rings..."

"Went to the Saigon again as friends were going, the first visit was terrible, this second visit was worse as the chilli beef that was nice last time is no longer on the menu. It's an expensive place to go and the food is bland and tasteless. Again we had to wait nearly 3 hours for food, leaving you time to order once before they want to empty the shop. Order your drinks 3 at a time as this is the only way around the shocking service. And try to order as many dishes as possible for the same reason. Now instead of letting you order the food you want to eat they just bring you a heap of stuff-if you have asked for something specific you may not get it because instead of serving you your order they stick it on a plate to be shared! A sure fire way to make you angry as you'll be starving after the 3 hour wait for food. The chilli beef is gone,so they no longer have that tasty dish, they cannot do curry-it is awful, the noodles are a similar sad story, and the fact they cant make curry to go with your noodles means its just a bland dish-like having a roast with no gravy. There is only 1 place to go for this sort of meal in the area and that is in Ipswich. I will just turn down the next offer to go there as it is just a frustrating, hungry, bland and disappointing night out."

"Ohhhhh! Yes they are! So, basically I took the train from Birmingham to Edinburgh just to take a selfie outside Edinburgh castle (long story, wont bore you with it). Anyway, with said selfie in the can and with just under two hours left till the...train home I happened upon this rather non-descript looking bar in Market St. The place appeared to be full of backpackers (which made perfect sense as I later discovered there was a hostel next door) and was a bit dark and dingy looking. However, taking selfies is hungry work and they had burgers so why not. Anyway, the girl behind the bar was lovely and helpful so after asking for a recommendation I ordered the ‘Highland Cow’ (6oz burger with Haggis and Monterey Jack cheese) and a pint of ale infused lager. First of all I should say that I was very very hungry but this burger really hit the mark. The chips only looked like regular French fries but they were really well seasoned with salt and crushed black pepper and together with the whiskey cream sauce were absolutely awesome! The burger was also well cooked and together with the Haggis tasted greeeeeaaat! The ale/lager was really very nice too and was a good recommendation so all in all enjoyable meal. In summary I was pleasantly rewarded with some excellent service, satisfying burger and a delicious pint so two thumbs up to all the staff at Jake’s Place"

"We arrived for our meal and advised we were waiting for the third person in our party to join us, so they offered us a drink while we were waiting. We were then asked about 3 more times if we wanted to go to the table, which we declined as we were early anyway. When our other guest arrived, we advised the host that we were now ready, and he said to come to the table, only to then turn around and tell us that they weren't ready for us and to wait. We were taken to the table about 3 minutes later. The table was clean and laid for 3 as booked. It's a very contemporary decor. I ordered the smoked haddock on a broadbean and pea risotto, followed by the Monkfish and Cod scampi and chips. Our guest ordered the Goats cheese Crostini and Chicken Parmesan with a truffle Mac and Cheese. The smoked Haddock was nicely cooked, if a little bland and the risotto well made. The Goats Cheese Crostini went down well too! The Scampi was nicely cooked and flavourful, and the chips were perfection. The only things that brought it down was the mushy peas were cold and the dipping sauce for the scampi had a skin on it presumably it had been sitting under a heat lamp. The Chicken Parmesan was well cooked; the fried egg was nicely cooked and the Mac Cheese very tasty. I had the Kiwi and Lime Posset, my partner had the Chocolate Delice and our guest had the autumn berry gateau. The only issue with the dessert was the gateau was that our guest couldn't finish it! Not a problem. Tea and coffee were served, my only observation here is to let the tea brew a bit before pouring! Service: Very attentive waitresses, they checked back with us at nicely spaced intervals and cleared empty glasses etc. promptly. Very friendly and professional, the only thing that I could see was that there's too many people serving each table so the trainee isn't getting the true feel for serving. I also observed the tutors serving customers too while trainees stood chatting. To sum up, it's a good meal, good value for money and we will return!"

"11 of us went to the River Thai on a Sunday lunch to celebrate a birthday. We had booked in advance and were asked to pay a £5 per person deposit which was fine. We were hoping to sit outside and enjoy the view of the river but the English weather had other ideas! Once we'd all arrived we were seated inside at a long table that had plenty of room. Starters arrived in no time and were delicious, especially the mixed plater for 2 The mains if anything were even better, delicious selection of curries and stir fries, we had a few vegans and vegetarians in the group who said their meals were superb. Drinks were a reasonable price and the service was excellent . Overall there were 11 very happy customers with no complaints at all, will definitely be back"

"Overall, it was very disappointing, though the staff were lovely, the food was very basic (below wetherspoons standard) but presented nicely and there was 1hr40 minute wait with no notice of the wait time. We.. Were..hungry. But, even at a hungry level, I just can't justify paying £15 for 3 chicken strips, 2 fish fingers in a wrap (fish Tacos), and 6 dough balls that were bland. The chicken wings were tender but soggy and fatty... Would be more preferred if crispy. The best part were the onion rings which were lovely. I hope the food is nicer and worth the money in the future as we would have loved to have gone home with a full belly after that wait!"

"I was dining here for my department Christmas do and we had pre-ordered our food, due to the size of our party. I have food issues and was just going to have the Tamarind duck with variations on it. A lady from the restaurant sought me out and spoke to me at great length about my requirements and came up with a recommended dish to suit my needs. I was extremely grateful for this input from them and they made the experience a really good one for me. I had been worried all week thinking that I might not have had anything to eat on the night. I would not hesitate to recommend the spring rolls and the chicken pad Thai"

"I ordered a pizza from the Wandsworth branch with wild mushrooms, salami and caramelised onions. I received it and it tasted sour. So I called the restaurant and said it may be the salami that’s off. I changed the meat and they sent a me new pizza but it still tasted really sour. Then after a few bites, my lips and nose started tingling and then swelling. I started to have an allergic reaction so two pizzas had to be thrown in the bin. When I called them again to tell the restaurant about this, the guy got angry at me and refused to refund me. It transpired they were putting vinegar on the pizza and im severely allergic to vinegar. I’ve had to miss work and im £25 down with an allergic reaction. Who puts vinegar on a pizza?! They still haven’t refunded me and the pizza tasted awful. Do not order from them."
