"Located in the heart of Southampton's student area, Mango is a friendly and affordable option for a neighbourhood restaurant. Despite the potential clientele from the nearby University, there are few options like Mango in the area. The menu offers Thai tapas, featuring small plates of traditional Thai dishes. We tried a variety of dishes including phad thai, dim sum (pork pot stickers), spring rolls, and prawn tempura. The food was decent overall, with the prawn tempura being the standout dish. The cocktails were also enjoyable, although the fruit juices may not have been freshly squeezed. The restaurant itself is lively and colorful, although the tables are a bit cramped together, especially in the front section. It can also get quite warm inside. Overall, Mango is a good addition to the local dining scene, and we would consider returning for a late meal or lunch in the future."

I have only been once, but I had a great experience! The food was delicious and the service was helpful and friendly. The prices were reasonable and the restaurant was clean. I can't wait to go back again! View menu

Interior design and general atmosphere is great. But have to be honest, food does not quite meet standards that price would suggest. Have not tried tapas, this refers only to mains. Does have potential though.

The atmosphere and service were good at this restaurant, but the food was disappointing. We ordered tapas and it was clear that the duck spring rolls, fried wontons, and Thai fish cakes were frozen ones from a supermarket. I was not happy about paying £5.95 for reheated pre-packaged food that I could easily make at home. I will not be returning.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Food was a disappointment. The yellow egg noodles were bland beyond all reason, the chilli beef was good but came sat on top of bland boiled rice so really needed some sauce. The 'tempura ' prawns came as 5 prawns deep fried in breadcrumbs. Not very tempura and certainly not worth the 7 quid. Overall I would say that this place has massive potential, but currently does not merit the prices they are charging. View menu

Went here last week for the first time it's a thai restaurant in portswood. Is lovely inside, quite busy in the front but we were in a small room at the back. Food was nice, but hotter than expected, and the staff were very laid back. Did have to wait a bit for courses but overall a fun experience. Not as cheap as some places though but worth it for the experience. You can choose whether to have tapas or a main menu, the portions aren't overly large so may want to order more than you think you need.

Concept of this is great: I love tapas and I love Thai! The restaurant is small and beautifully decorated, with a massive Buddha on the wall. This place would be best for pre drinks nibbles, or anyone watching their weight/not sure if they like Thai cuisine as the tapas size portions aren't huge, so could be considered quite pricey for what you get. However, it's got a nice contemporary yet laid back atmosphere for a night out/weekend meet up for a group of friends and friendly Thai British staff. This place didn't have a high chair for our son when we visited one weekend so if you have babies/toddlers this is a point to consider.
