"The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely, with pleasant lighting that was a refreshing change. The appetizers, such as the pita and various dips, were enjoyable. I definitely recommend trying the Aubergine Dip. However, I found the squid to be quite tough. The seafood kebab was tasty, and the accompanying vegetables and rice were very good. Overall, the experience was not excellent, but still quite enjoyable."

"It was truly delightful to visit a charming independent restaurant that is successfully competing with the larger chains taking over Southampton. The atmosphere is inviting, and the food is straightforward yet exceptional."

"The positives. I was well greeted to take up my reservation and placed at a table for 2. Menu was varied . Restaurant clean. Lovely live music. Negatives. Restaurant was quiet with only 1 other table occupied. To our surprise, after placing our food order we were asked to move for a large booking, even though there were other areas that could be used. Turned out the large booking was for 8 who had just booked and could have been positioned without interfering with me. Secondly, our drinks order did not arrive promptly and when chased were told that they were waiting to give is with our main course! The final big issue here was they had the cheek to slip 2 extra drinks on to our bill. Would I go back or recommend the restaurant, no way Jose."

"I recently dined at El Greco a charming family-run Greek restaurant, and it was nothing short of a delightful experience. The authenticity of the food was outstanding, making me feel as if i was in Greece myself . From the savory stuffed vine leaves to the perfectly grilled chicken olympia each dish was a masterpiece. What truly set this place apart, however, was the warmth of the staff. The family running the restaurant made us feel like cherished guests in their own home. Their genuine friendliness and willingness to make you're experience as amazing as possible The ambiance was cozy, reflecting the restaurant's commitment to creating a welcoming environment. It's evident that passion and love go into every aspect of this establishment. If you're seeking a taste of Greece coupled with unparalleled hospitality, look no further. A definite 5 stars from me. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Tzatziki, Chicken Olympia, Houmas and Pitta Bread, Dolmades"

"Was looking for somewhere for a family meal and this looked ideal. Booked online for 2 (via an external site which we couldn’t change the number of people) but needed a table for 2 and a child. Arrived as they opened and there were fully accommodating for our additional little one. From the welcome to the continue service the experience was excellent. The staff’s interaction with our 15 month old was heart warming (with the chef even waving at us through the service hatch). The Sea bass was a great portion and the chef was kind enough to separate one fillet out without the dressing so our little one could have it (the dressing on the other half was delicious). We took away some baklava which was fantastic. A great experience and if we are this way again wouldn’t hesitate in going back."

"Four of us enjoyed a fabulous meal at Christakis. We started with a selection of starters, which we all shared, and were gifted with an additional starter from the restaurant. All of them were absolutely delicious! We then had our main courses which again were delicious...OMG the portions were HUGE!!! Not only did we get our main item (e.g. lamb/chicken/moussaka) but each was served with rice AND chips! Very generous but, hate to say it, quite daunting for me to have so much on the plate at one time!!! My son did finish his plateful and took the remaining half of mine home with him to eat the following day! Service was first class! The manager was really friendly and made us feel incredibly welcome throughout our visit. Our friends have booked to return for their son's graduation meal and we are returning separately too. Definitely recommend!"

"We spent a few days in Southport recently. We came across this little gem. On entering there is a small courtyard which I guess is used in Summer, inside the tables were nicely spaced, hand gel on tables. The decor was truly Greek, (Greek owner/chef)with blue walls and plenty of Greek memorabilia around. It really felt like you were in a Greek restaurent on holiday. The staff were friendly, especially the lady from Romania whose name I have forgotten. Menu was very good. They even do an early evening menu which is a set price. We had some dips and pitta bread to start, then grilled prawns and Klefitko, both come with Greek salad chips and rice. We had a bottle of retsina, and my husband finished with a metaxa. The second night we had chicken souvlaki, mixed souvlaki again accompanied with Greek salad (the dressing was lovely) chips and rice. All washed down with Mythos beer. If you enjoy going on holiday to Greece, try this place you will not be disappointed. We will definately be back when we are next in Southport."

"we were greeted with irritation, told to sit there on another waitress and the menus were thrown on the table. we waited for for forty minutes to be served, but were ignored so that we left. I complained to the waiter behind the bar, who agreed that it was a terrible wise to treat customers. We have never known such a creepy experience and the evening should be a champagne party. Total Never again"

"We visited 3 years ago and had a really lovely meal and the service and atmosphere was spot on. It’s a lovely building and very well decorated. However we revisited last night and to say it was really disappointing was an understatement. We arrived at 1830 and the restaurant downstairs was quiet. We were seated and drink and food menus were brought over. The waitress explained there were a few cocktails missing and some dishes missing from the menus. We ordered drinks and were left to look at the food menu. 20 minutes later I asked her to come over so we could order food and asked about our drinks. She explained that the bar staff would not arrive until 1900hrs. My short cocktail then arrived with a very long straw.. I asked for a short one which seemed to put the waitress out a bit and she explained she’d have to cut one in half which I said was fine no problem. Starters arrived not to long after and it was lovely, very nice calamari with olives and pitta. At around 1945 we were told that we would still wait for our main due to a large table upstairs and that the chef was on his own. 2025hrs our main arrived. This is a substantial wait for a main, my arrived the lamb chops and it looked nice, I asked for some vinegar which arrived in a small dish, she apologised and said that the pourers were all dirty! my husbands mixed grill was cold. He ate the rather small lamb chop and also found an item missing from his mixed grill. Then kebabs were stone cold. We asked the waitress over an explained and she took it back to the kitchen, she was gone a few minutes and came back and said you’ve eaten most of it so we can re heat the rest. My husband tried to explain that he’d only had the chop and an item was missing and she dismissed him. We explained we were happy to pay for the rest of the meal but not his as it was as described and it was cold. She walked away from the table and returned a few minutes later and threw the bill down and said I’ve taken £10 off. And walked away. I then had to go to see her to ask to see the manager. The manager came over, we explained that we were happy to pay for the rest of the meal however not the mixed grill. She explained that the chef was stressed due to being on his own and they had a large party upstairs and her staff were not highly trained. She explained that the meal would have been reheated in someone else’s juices in their mixed grill and not microwaved. She deducted the mixed grill from the bill which was appreciated. I feel that this could have been avoided, a large pre booked party and also continuing to take booking means you might need some more staff. It’s the little details that make coming for a meal a good experience. 3 years ago this place was great, now not so much. We wouldn’t revisit. Better value for money, and better service else where."

"We ate for lunch as a couple and the waiter was cheeky and trying to upsell some nibbles telling us there will be a wait on food for the mains but that was not true so we found it a bit silly from him .....we found him pushy and a little invasive checking on us every few minutes the mains arrived a few minutes after the nibbles were served and it was not very nice at all it tasted reheated and poorly presentated .. the chicken pasta dish tasted like there was vinegar in it wich was barely edible and the pasta was really soggy , the moussaka wasn’t good either both served with a few mixed leaves salad that looked old and barely any garnish and dressing all of that at a really high price so we left disappointed."

"We went as a party of four to the restaurant in Walsall. Not what I was expecting from a Greek restaurant at all. No classic dishes at all which was very disappointing. Most items were fries or wrap based. Nobody greeted us on arrival and background music was too loud you couldn't really talk at a normal level and exoect to hear a reply! Hot chocolate was cold and tea came as a cup of luke warm water with teabags on the side! Some food items were not available on the menu and specific requests for salad of tomatoes and no onions was not adhered to. This was very bad as a customer could have had a specific request due to allergens! There is a large piece about allegens on the menu and telling your server when ordering, so this was absolutely appalling!Service was not great and it seems that the restaurant side of the business comes second to the takeaway side. A 12.5% service charge was automatically added to the bill and was not optional as it says on the menu! Our party was incredibly disappointed as this was a birthday meal. None of us would return or recommend Kouzina to anyone!"

"Love this neighbourhood health store and cafe. Brilliant service from a knowledgeable team and a great mix of heath food , supplements and skincare Planned to stop for lunch but short on time had a really tasty and imaginative takeaway salad box instead that has me full 6 hours later ! 15 mins from Kings X station a nice walk passing lots of indie shops"

"Despite eating out regularly, I am very selective about where I dine. I take the time to research and ask friends for recommendations to ensure a satisfactory experience. While I am familiar with dining options in Glasgow, I find Edinburgh to be more challenging with its diverse offerings. I typically prefer to dine near Haymarket or Waverley, but struggle to find suitable options in the area. Although I enjoy dining in Leith, the distance can be a hindrance. For my recent visit to Edinburgh, I sought recommendations from locals and was pleased with the suggestion I received."

"I can’t really review the pub or the food but only my experience a few weeks ago. Myself and 3 sisters had driven from Oxford on our way to our sisters funeral, at St Elizabeth’s convent just 20 minutes from Wareside. We had stopped at the pub many times over the years. It was a Monday. There were many signs outside the pub, all saying it was open. We were early for the funeral, so decided to stop for teas and coffees (as we had in the past) As we got out of the car and made our way to the entrance, a woman was sat in her car in the car park, opened her door, and asked ‘can I help you’ we were like, it’s ok thanks, we are stopping off here for coffee?. Her response was ‘well, the pub is closed, and it is a pub, we sell alcohol if you want coffee, you should go back and stop at Costa’s!! Her tone was very rude and sarcastic! We pointed out that the signs said it was open, to which she replied, they forgot to take them down. We asked her if the pub over the road was open (Chequers) to which she replied it is a pub , they sell alcohol. We were all shocked how rude and sarcastic she was. I’m assuming she was the landlady. If she was a member of staff then whoever manages her needs to teach her how to talk to customers. I just checked on the website, and they serve tea and coffee?"

"Have been coming here for years and it still can’t be beaten! Incredible value and beautiful food. Essentially… you put down a tenner, get a stunning plate full of goodness and then get told “if you’re still hungry then feel free to come back for...a little more”. It’s a great place with an incredible ethos and the friendliest owner/staff you’ll ever have the pleasure of meeting. Just do yourself a favour and go. Unless of course you’re looking for a hotdog or something… then go around the corner (there’s a grill in the market on Friday and Saturday). Peace."

"I've just eaten here. I asked the waitress what was vegan friendly and the waitress talked me through the menu. There was nothing she said non vegan that wouldn't have appeared so at 1st glance at the menu. Thus I had quite a bit to choose from. The menu and pricing goes based on the client chooses a platter based on the number of mezze dishes in the platter, It was £12.95 for the 3 mezze platter and 15.95 for the 5 mezze platter. I had the 5 mezze platter. I have to say it was delicious. each of the mezzes though wasn't overly so I am glad I went for the 5 as the 3 I don't think would have been enough. There bread and a little salad included. There's also a special all you can eat party platter at I think was £21.95. Delicious as the food was, it felt a little on the pricey side. 10% was added to the tab for the mezze (not for the drinks that while extra, didn't seem to incur the service charge). Thus if you are watching a tight budget, there's defo more economical alternatives elsewhere foodwise. If you are looking to put some booze away though, you could maybe save some cash utilsing that this place is BYOB. Decor and atmo were utterly fine as was the demeanour of the waitress. If I was eating with someone who refused to go to an all vego restaurant, I'd be happy to eat here again no problem at all. Otherwise it would be one of the nearby all vego restaurants in Edinburgh for me. If this place was all vego I'd defo rate it higher."
