"Read some very good reviews about this restaurant... but were slightly disappointed. Bottle of wine was reasonably priced and good. Very extensive drinks menu compared to a rather limited food menu! Starter was too salty for me (tiger prawn and chorizo scotch egg) and my friend's venison carpaccio was too cooked and not what we would expect for a carpaccio. The steamed dumpling of Scottish lobster, scallops and cod was weirdly presented and was bland. Mains were better but my friend's side order never appeared before we finished our main course... I had the buckwheat crepe with smoked avocado ratatouille failed to find any avocado flavour and although it was nice, cannot comprehend why it was so pricey. Duck was nicely cooked and so was the pork belly. The whole meal was over 40 pounds per person... hopefully will be better next time we come!"

"it was great. was a shopping with my man and had actually planned to eat somewhere else, but we thought we would stop there for a beer and a beer was in a couple and so we decided to eat. we have shared a set menu and added some extras. the service was fantastic, not at all rushed as it is in Spain. we have chatted and laughed and true if we had nothing to do, we could have spent the whole afternoon there. we will be back."

"Went there for the first time with several other members of the blue knights law enforcement motorcycle club. Had Sunday breakfast. It was delicious, no grease on the plate, you could tell the eggs were fresh, sausages not cheap nasty but I reckon home made and service was outstanding , felt like we had our own waitresses . This as a club all agreed will be a regular stop and eating hole . Thankyou red dog . Highly recommended. Parking: Gravel car park couple pot holes which in a car isn't a problem. Slight hazard for bikers though but ok Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: £1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: English Breakfast, Full English Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free parking lot"

"The experience was not that good really which was a shame for Mother’s Day. There was only a choice of 3 starters and one of those was the predictable tomato soup, albeit it was homemade, mackeral pate which was very small in fact just a table spoon with bread and no butter, then there was ham croquet which was very nice. The main roast meats were very good but not all the meats were available. The vegetables were fresh and hot with a good selection. The main issue was how rushed we were and kept being watched by staff to see how quickly they could get rid of us, they wanted us in and out and achieved that, so within 1 hr of arriving we had eaten 2 courses, paid the bill and back in the car. I don’t really understand why as there were other people still dining although another table were even quicker than us. Basically the staff wanted to go home and we felt very much in the way."

"Second time I have been here for lunch and on both occasions everything has been excellent. Owners staff attentive, never rush you despite being extreme busy and people waiting for a table,so better if you can book. On this occasion I had a sourdough open sandwich of cream cheese, avocado, spinach leaves topped with smoked salmon, sliced dill pickle and seeds, absolutely delicious, amazing combination of flavours, followed by pecan pie with vanilla ice cream, most of which I bought home, I choose 2 very rich courses! My husband had the 'Banging chicken fries with salad garnish, looked good, followed by Eaton mess, cleared both and he thoroughly enjoyed his first visit here. Portions are generous, well presented. I must add that they not only take great pride in their food/drinks but in cleanliness. Tables/chairs are wiped down after each use and toilets spotless. Would recommend a visit. Vegetarian options: There appeared to be adequate choice for most people. Also you can ask for something to be left off. They are very accommodating so feel sure they would help where possible. Parking: Paid street parking or there is free parking in Tesco 's which is just down the road from restaurant."

"Very good food ok price for what I ordered ! One thing I don’t understand people here that left one star complained that the prices are high For you guys to eat and leave a one star review saying how good was the food and place but complain about price .. you must be really really cheap it’s a poor mentality. If you eat and you don’t like the food is one thing .. but to be sad because you paid a bit more you must be really sad person. My pizza was big and really tasty !"

"almost. to my time of booking and taken directly to my table. the restaurant became more busy when the time went on, eventually became almost full. the menu is quite varied when it is a little limited cheese eater. had a wonderful brot that tasted like a delicious naanstarted with hardened silver-mullet, delicious and very beautifully presented. I finally chose the confit dee, elements were delicious, but presentation was a tad chaotic. coming from a Jewish background, I like my butter beans soft these were a bit too al dente for me. dessert was a sensational chocolate dessert with haselnuss custard, really stunning! as my profile shows, I am not a stranger to meelin eat nice, but not a zigarre for pornstars. the personal is very efficient and competent. toilet clean and well presented. was it worth the 165 miles round trip? for the starter and dessert yes!"

"Timeless iconic classic that seemingly everyone has enjoyed, over the years. Now, sadly, on the list for redevelopment into flats, I believe, this long serving bastion of the community is, outrageously, soon to be no longer with us. Who hasn’t parked up in Old Redding car park and had a drink in the beer garden on a hot summer’s day/eve? Whilst the views from the proposed flats will no doubt be spectacular, this fantastic piece of local history will be sorely missed."

"These are the best vegan donuts in London (better than Doughnut Time and Crosstown). It’s really all in the dough, which is pillowy but with a chewy/crispy texture on the outside. The vegan creme brûlée is definitely my favorite followed by the no-tella donut. Definitely worth going out of your way to try these. Would I eat engere again? Absolutely!!!!!!!!! So good!!!"

"We’re currently working in Alnwick, spending a week there and a week back home in Manchester. After our second visit, we grew tired of grabbing Burger Kings from service stations on our way back. That’s when one of my colleagues searched for good Italian food along the A1 and discovered Giuseppe’s. What a fantastic find! My wife is Italian, while I’m not, but I’ve developed an appreciation for excellent Italian cuisine through many trips to Italy. Giuseppe’s truly delivers! We now make it a point to stop by every other week on our way home, and we eagerly look forward to it. Life is about the journey, after all! It’s conveniently located just off the A1 in Gateshead, and by opting out of fast food convenience, you can uncover the real hidden gems in life. This place is definitely one of them: great people, delicious food, and a positive vibe!"

"Booked as a surprise for my nieces Birthday. Sadly unimpressed starter asparagus poached egg hollandaise was served cold with watery egg. The pickled melon. with parma ham tasted like cloves not pleasant. Mains edible but covered in gravy which is ok if you like gravy served warm not hot. Glasses not clean. Our table was not cleaned from the last diners. I asked them to clean the table gentleman came spraying some cleaner on the dirty spots covering the cutlery I feel very disappointed as we had high hopes. My Nephew ordered from the other side of menu chicken burger very dry. The drinks are expensive . Overall not good we didn't order desert or coffee. I really do think long and hard about writing reviews and I am saddend to say we will not return. The staff where lovely and attentive."

"Nothing worth five stars like all other reviews . Doesn’t deserve a Michelin as well . Save the money for other restaurants in York , like Melton the only other we tried , which had good service and good food and good vibe. 1 service is not great . The male waiter who served us was with standard service but another female waitress is just half black faced for no reason . It’s not only towards us but I can see she had the same face for other tables as well . Her serving manner was so bad that her manager kept correcting her at table side . 2 food is standard , nothing special , maybe except the egg custard . The duck was cold . 3 the waiting time between course highly depended on the occupancy of the restaurant . The more table occupied , the longer up to 25 mins the waiting time . And this should not happen in a Michelin star place . Won’t suggest anyone to waste money to come . We have been to many Michelin star places , nowhere offered such a bad experience that we actually craving to finish everything and leave ."

"--- **Meal Type:** Dinner **Price Range per Person:** £20–30 **Food Rating:** 5/5 **Service Rating:** 5/5 **Atmosphere Rating:** 4/5 **Recommended Dishes:** Tiramisu, Seafood Linguine I recently dined at this restaurant for dinner and had an exceptional experience. The food was outstanding, earning a perfect score of 5 for its flavor and presentation. The service matched the quality of the food, also deserving a 5; the staff was attentive and friendly throughout the meal. The atmosphere was enjoyable, though slightly less impressive, which is why I rated it a 4. I highly recommend trying the Tiramisu and Seafood Linguine—both dishes were highlights of the meal! --- Feel free to ask for any revisions or additional details!"

"after a few local drinks in the city, we have a trip to this truly spectacular pizza withdrawal gift. I had the pepperoni pizza, a simple but classic choice, and disappeared all 15 inches. Despite a rather long wait, the team turned around our order quickly and was extremely friendly. I would recommend the garlic oil as a funnel, it added that additional aroma layer to the pizza that had just the right ratio of cheese to to tomate base. we will certainly visit this facility again."

"I've written many glowing reviews for this restaurant, but my experience yesterday was a bit disappointing. If nearly raw cabbage and lukewarm custard are the new trends in cuisine, I hope we can move past them soon because they simply don't appeal to anyone! However, these are minor issues compared to the sneaky tactics used to lighten my wallet. We were offered the lunch special menu at £30 for three courses, which we chose since it was 4:45 PM. But when the bill arrived, we were charged £35. Apparently, that's the evening price, so please don't present us with a menu that’s not applicable! On top of that, there’s a service charge. While it's rarely acknowledged, I believe diners should have the freedom to decide when and how much to tip, without the awkwardness of having to request its removal if the service or food doesn't meet our expectations. Better yet, Gusto, consider giving your staff a pay rise! Despite my little rant, I genuinely enjoy this place and will likely return."

"We were staying in Porthleven, so booked Kota in advance, as we were aware of this interesting restaurant from previous holidays in Porthleven. We had the six-course dinner menu with the wine pairing, for which my food allergy was well catered for as most dishes were the same as my partner’s. The initial three “snacks” were a delight, as the flavours and textures made them delicious. The second course of BBQ leeks and mussels were an amazing combination of flavour and texture. The third course of beet curds, molasses, and chia seeds was a delightful combination, and I say this as someone who doesn’t really like beetroot. It made the beetroot the sweetest I have ever tasted without overpowering its flavour. The fourth course of brown crab sauce with the seabass was delicious. The fifth course of pork belly with accompaniments was superb. For dessert we had “Milk and Honey”, a white chocolate mousse, Porthleven honey, caramelised milk powder, and soda bread ice cream, which was a wonderful blend of flavours and textures. The wine pairings were very well matched to the dishes. I also appreciated the nicely laundered large linen napkins that we had. The restaurant had a nice ambience, with interesting subtle music which we enjoyed. Our waitresses were very friendly and informative, carefully explaining the dishes and the wines to us upon arrival. The service was excellent. We had a very enjoyable experience, and after this first visit will go back again when next in Porthleven."

"Went here today 27th March 23 It was a treat from my daughter for me as part of my mother's day present It had been booked for 12 o'clock sitting for lunch 2 weeks ago for 3 people I was looking forward to it as I had never been here before We were sat down chose our drinks and our orders were taken The orders came about 12 30 we were then approached by the server at 12 50pm And was told they needed the table by 1pm and we could go up stairs to finish off our lunch at first we couldn't believe what she had asked even in a restaurant you get up to 2hrs at a table by 1pm the same server came back again and said they needed the table I really don't believe once you total have been sat down uou should have to move again no matter what issues arise from other bookings Surely they would have known this table was needed when they sat us down for our lunch so we should have been seated upstairs in the first instance totally unexceptable the way this was handled by a very in competent person and spoilt what should have been a lovely lunch with my family just less than an hour and getting shunted off your table total disbelief"

"The Museum Inn, located in Farnham, Nr. Blandford Forum, Dorset, DT11 8DE We booked late on Friday night and only one room was available so it was meant to be! We arrived around 5pm and were greeted by friendly staff, shown to our room The Catch and made a reservation for dinner, luckily they still had spaces for dinner but it is advised to book in advance. Lovely spacious room and bathroom, kettle, teas, coffees and bottled water supplied. I have to say I fell in love with the hand wash and hand cream, I have already purchased some for home, the brand is called Bramley and the scent is Lavender, Geranium and Petitgrain. The bed is probably the most comfortable we have ever slept in that is not our own, soft feather pillows that were just right! Dinner was a three course meal and it was delicious, we took 2 hours to eat but never felt rushed or like we were waiting too long between courses. Starters: Ham hock terrine with sourdough toast and Prawn, potato and crayfish fishcakes. Mains: Burger and Steak Ale pie Desserts: Chocolate Brownie with cherry sorbet. Biscoff donuts with pumpkin pie ice cream Drinks: Poretti lager and Cherry cocktail. Breakfast: Eggs Royale and Smashed avocado, poached egg and bacon, absolutely scrumilicious! Big thanks to Amanda who served us this morning and checked us out. Highly recommend staying and eating here and we will 100% be back again! Safe travels! The Allsebrooks x"

"I stopped at this small beautiful place for the end of my visit in york and it was an amazing place. we had not enough time to enjoy all the dishes so that we tried 5 of them - roasted califove, fried chicken, spicy beef tartar, loaded octopus and lambs boil. fried chicken- it could be the easiest dish of this 5 but was quite tender enough. spicy beefy wetar- my favorites from the 5. it's just so amazing with fresh bark and tasty sauce. the award-winning otopus- it is a drop-small comparison with the price, but the otopus was really tender. the lamb bell. it is tender and juicy. the only part I didn't like so much was that I could still taste the stinking part of the lamb. the service was great and the interieur was cozy and beautiful. I really like this place and come back when I go back to york!"

"I am pleased that the restaurant is returning to its roots at the Duke. I worked there 25 years ago when Colin had it bustling. A lot has changed since then, but it will always hold a special place in many people's hearts as the Duke."
