"when they drive down the st john street in farringdon, they can easily flash and miss foxlow. what looks like a hole in the wall from outside is a charming and cozy atmosphere in the inner. a British menu with a beautiful selection of fish, meat and vegetarian dishes. I went for the aubergine, while my guests had the huh and seabass. the whole food was well presented and delicious. highly recommended for a casual work dinner. update: came with my team of work to celebrate shrove Tuesday (pancake day). we have tried out all three options from the menu: the classic lemon and sugar, mushrooms and cornmeal with fried egg and speck dust, and the elvis ricotta pancakes with peanut butter, maple glazed speck and...read more"

"I visited Foxlow before it closed down. The overall experience was slightly different compared to previous years, but the food quality had not decreased. The devilled mushrooms were a delicious starter, the chicken waffle burger caught my eye and had to be ordered after seeing it at another table, and the Sunday roast was perfectly cooked."

"Hi. I've been with my wife to both branches many times. This time I was taking a friend. I booked for 8.15pm. Before we were seated or looked at the menu, we were told we needed to order, as the kitchen was closing. Once seated, another waiter told us we needed to order everything we wanted to consume, as the kitchen was closing imminently. As soon as the lovely food was brought to the told, we were given the bill and told to pay, as the till was closing! Soon after 9.30pm (before 9.45pm can't remember exactly , we were told the restaurant was closing and time to leave! I'd recommend the food, but warn them about the service ;"

"Proper old fashioned restaurant, no unnecessary bits that cost you more but are not needed. (Half a lettuce with sauce squeezed over it springs to mind, who needs that. Good honest food carvery had 3 meats on and loads of veg to choose from. Carrots, peas, cabbage, cauliflower cheese, parsnips, green beans, ratatouille, potatoes, yorkies and other stuff I've forgotten. The rest of the menu is good too, simple and unfussy. The food is well prepared and we both enjoyed our meals. The highlight was the staff though they were all very friendly and very welcoming. They treated everyone like an old friend and that made the whole atmosphere relaxed and friendly. Dogs were allowed in too provided they are well behaved and settled down out of the way."

"Lovely cafe in the heart of Elland, serving a good variety of hot and cold food, desserts and drinks, to eat in or take away. Has plenty of seating, ground floor and upstairs. Can cater for parties and meetings. Small snug room available for cozy meals or quiet space for working on laptops, free WiFi. Friendly staff. Open daily and also late nights, Friday and Saturday, when offers are available on beer, spirits and fabulous cocktails. Kids can eat free on Saturday, between 4pm 6pm.,when ordering an adult meal. Highly recommended, have eaten there several times."
