"My wife and I called in today for lunch. The second you walk through the door you get a cheery greeting and offered tea or coffee. The place was clean and the atmosphere friendly. I had a bacon and sausage baguette, which was excellent and the baguette itself, lovely, which is often not the case. My wife had a tuna jacket potato with heaps of salad, which she loved. All this and 2 teas for a tenner. Recommended and we will be back. Thanks a lot."

"It’s rare nowadays for any business, of all types that make you feel like you are the most important person, that you are appreciated and your custom is highly valued. This is exactly how you feel every time you visit Cafe The Station.Service with not just a smile, but a genuine interest in your day, food served exactly as you ordered and is changed or altered without fuss.A Cosmopolitan, modern atmosphere where you could sit for hours, spotless and comfortable.Staff are friendly and welcoming and nothing is a bother. Food is exceptional. In summary: An absolute delight, it’s why my wife and I make a point of visiting at least once a week. Even going specifically to visit and not just because we are in the area."

"I had a great dinner here. Friendly, approachable service, an eclectic menu with everything from tamales and seafood pozole to steaks. I started with the McCoy cakes with walleye from Lake Michigan, sweet peas, and carrots. They were tasty. Two to an order. I thought they might be too burnt when they came out but they tasted fine and had a good crust. The complimentary bread rolls with the tomato vinegar concoction and honey butter were great (though perhaps a tad doughy on the inside though I still enjoyed them). The Thompson tenderloin was great--very tender, cooked perfectly medium rare. The mashed potatoes that came with it were great and I appreciated the sautéed diced zucchini and peppers, and the crab cake add on was fine. My dining companions enjoyed their Stephanie Seabass and Salmon entrees. All in all, a great dinner. I'd be back and I'd recommend it!"

"As a relatively new vegan, I was incredibly pleased with the fantastic falafel, Persian bread, and salad I had for lunch yesterday. It was like eating a rainbow! I honestly can't remember ever having such a vibrant, creative salad before. My only regret is that I didn't take a photo before I dug in. But that's okay, as I have two vegan friends coming to visit next weekend, and I know exactly where we're going!"

"The cafe gets a lot of negative reviews which to some extent I understand. We had coffee and a bacon roll here this morning and, whilst the place could improve it’s by no means bad the coffee and food we had was in fact very good and the service friendly. The COVID 19 procedures result in slow movement through the queue especially if customers don’t have the app; that said a simple organisational change could improve things, there simply aren’t sufficient staff to cook, take orders, deliver food and clear& clean tables it wasn’t busy when we were there but delays could build up up especially when staff tried to process a discount vouchers in part payment..... if your going to promote the cafe make sure staff understand the process."

"We were passing through Ballater and stopped off to stretch our legs. What a lovely place, very beautiful and well kept. We spotted the Brown Sugar Cafe and asked if they had any outside seating as it was the first sunny day in ages and it seemed a shame not to take advantage of it. There is a lovely area to drink and relax outside at the rear of the cafe, away from the hustle and bustle of the street, some under cover and some not. We were a party of 2 adults and 2 teens, ordered 2 hot drinks and 2 cold drinks and one cake. There was a varied choice on the menu, of sweet, savoury and even Haggis Panini, which sounded tempting, but as we had eaten a full hotel breakfast we had no room for more. The cost was very reasonable for what we ordered (around £10)We were there for just over 30 minutes, used the bathrooms, which were clean and functioning (there was a baby changing station in the larger one) and enjoyed the chance to relax. The servers were helpful and friendly. Overall a lovely experience. Highly recommended"

"I have been getting my lunch from this cafe for 4 years all through my undergraduate degree and now on my MSc course. I specifically went there for lunch today as a treat to celebrate a good grade I just received (that’s how delicious the food is! I got an egg mayonnaise sandwich on white bread and I think it might be the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten! Doesn’t get any fresher then watching the server peel the eggs to make the egg mayo! Everything I have eaten in there is delicious, the interior is absolutely beautiful, especially since they had a revamp, and the staff are always polite, helpful and quick with their service! I never write reviews but this place 100% deserves it!"

"We arrived 20 minutes before closing time and were unsure about what food might still be available, but there was no need for concern; everything we wanted was on the menu. We were quite hungry after a ride around the southern part of the island, which I highly recommend. The service was neither slow nor fast; it felt perfectly normal to us. The food was quite tasty— we ordered a couple of paninis, accompanied by salad and crisps. The cakes and coffee were also enjoyable. We accidentally sat at a table meant for four without noticing the sign asking it to be reserved for larger groups, but nobody seemed to mind. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience, although I can see how a surge of ferry passengers could pose challenges for the restaurant."

"After a boat trip from Crinan to the talk, we sat outside and enjoyed a lovely view of the waterfront. All the food we ordered was excellent— I had the roasted vegetable panini, which was delicious—and the drinks were enjoyable as well. The staff were friendly, and the prices were reasonable. We managed to find parking, but I think it might have been a different story if it were busier."

"I found the coffee to be quite expensive given the small size. The only food options available were pre-packaged cakes, which were also overpriced, and the seating area was closed. It was not very inviting, especially on a chilly day. I’m not sure why there weren’t any hot food options, as there were plenty of customers seeking warmth from the cold! Overall, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming, and I wouldn't recommend this place. As for dietary restrictions, I have no idea, but they didn't offer any plant-based milk. Regarding wheelchair accessibility, the restrooms were located up a slope."

"Call this a Chinese....charged for a so called Chicken Curry, Sweet Sour Chicken Balls and Sweet Sour Chicken Hong Kong Style...I have never tasted Curry like it...You need to see the state of the Kitchen...when we got there the Kitchen Door was...Open.. My God I went outside to look for a Food Hygien Rating...there wasn't one ...my Wife had already Ordered...I did advise her of the state of this Place...The Chef closed the Kitchen Door so we could not see in.....The Lady from London behind the Counter advised they have been closed for a Week, and i think what we Ordered had been left on the Side for that Week...It was Un-Edable...The Curry Sauce was like Water with no Taste...The Sweet Sour was the same...we threw the whole lot in the Bin...Then it came to the Free Prawn Crakers they gave us....You could bend them, as the where that out of Date...Total Rubbish and this place needs a Visit from the Council..."

"I visited tru burger, ladypool road today, with my sisters and it was my first time to try it after the lock and oath. it was a beautiful atmosphere and the girl who took our order was very attentive, courteous and professional and her client. service was really good. she recommended 2 new mojito aromen not on the menu, passion fruit and mango, blue berries mojito and the strawberry mojito the menu. the food was really beautifully presented and each individual product was fresh and beautiful. I would recommend this place to anyone who visits birmingham or in the opposite. I have uploaded photos of the food we tried. our bill came for 3 people on about 45 pounds and I would go back to my recent positive experience."

"Great service, Amazing food and a warm welcome!! And that’s just based on the takeaway service so far!! It’s under new management and is called The Duke now!! And opening in a lockdown was a brave thing to do and must be something special .... it is!! The breakfast bacon egg rolls got me hooked and the coffee complements well!! For the first time I’d tried a takeaway meal from a pub and it was their first pie night, lush and not to be missed and following that I had their fish chips!! Again lush, however, it didn’t make it home as the smell made me pull into a lay-by and eat them there!! I really can’t wait until the restrictions are lifted and a can have a sit down meal there!! Well done under difficult circumstances and COVID-19 precautions in place!!"

"The breakfast looked absolutely amazing. Using hindsite, it should have been what I ordered. Instead, I went for a quarterpounder cheeseburger with chips. If we are now defining a burger as bread, meat, bread then by all accounts this was a burger. But no salad AND no sauce within its wheaty confines resulted in something that it was a sad thing to look at. Think, brutalism architecture meets human food. To be fair, a waitress did bring out some salad after I requested a little to put in my food to make it a more complete affair, although I did find myself mixing up my own burger sauce with ketchup, mayo and mustard on the table. It's incredible how a 4 pound burger could look like a total waste of money with no salad and then look almost like a bit of a bargain with some lettuce and tomatoes thrown in (hint hint). My colleague had ordered himself. A chicken burger which made me extremely grateful for the slice of cheese that I got in mine. (Video attached). Staff overall were lovely and very helpful. Although I did pop in the day after to get a drink and saw one of the ladies behind the bar sneeze into whatever she was doing before sneezing again (this time off to the side) where I definitely saw a spray of some kind. I walked out before she turned around to take my order so hopefully she didn't know I was there. Never got to meet Tiffany. 3/5 stars."

"Great food. But the two very young waitresses had a slight attitude due to business. When I asked for a table of two, her eyes rolled and her body language was as if to say yes that empty table but we are very busy . Secondly, the back of house staff cooking food were in constant argument with the two front of house girls, which for such a small place is heard by everyone eating. Shouting and arguing while I 'm having breakfast is not what I want. The food was lovely and the girls did put on fake smiles. I did see one fellow walk out quite angrily after being met with an attitude from the waitress. He was noticeably annoyed and from what I heard of the conversation she was trying to turn away business when there were clearly spaces free. The spaces however, had not been cleared of the previous guests crockery. A crying shame. This place could be ran better and staff should be trained on how to deal with stress. Keep the good food coming. Drop the attitudes from the front of house."

"I cannot believe the prices for a small muffin sandwich at £4.25, it's incredible. I used to go to Harry Gow's most days for lunch, getting a sandwich, cake, and cold drink. But with their prices, I would end up spending around £10 a day for lunch. That's an average of £60 per week, £3,000 per year on food from Harry Gow's. And with two of us, that's £6,000 pounds in profit for my business. It's just too much, back to packed lunches. The prices these days are outrageous."

"Had take away from this Chinese take away and it was dreadful tonight. My wife is allergic to ginger and for the first time it was put in the sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style! Also their sweet and sour sauce has completely changed!...It is a very different colour and doesn’t taste anywhere near as good as the previous one. Ordered egg fried rice too which I thought they had forgotten to put the egg in! We have been using this take away for years but ...... sadly tonight is the last occasion we will be using it."

"In my opinion, this area has some of the finest walking routes in lancashire, all open for the public to enjoy. after a long trot over the moor land, nothing can be more welcoming than a good cafe. Vaughns is certainly is that, I adore the breakfast, free range eggs, tasty bacon and sausage and beans, a fine pot of tea and toast.the staff are lovely, the food is far better than the price charged and the full plate is a sign that value for money is certainly on the menu here.I have visited on a number of occasions and if there is one negative, then im yet to find it. please understand this is a country cafe and everyone is welcome, two legs or four, it does not advertise as a gastro cafe, it is a honest english oaisis in the beautifull north west, Time to put my boots on, Vaughns country cafe calls yet again."

"I reached Brighton on a Saturday evening and was hungry after a 7 hour coach trip and came across this place. From the beach, The Magic Wok is located just over about 3/4's of the way down Preston Street. There are a good few eateries on Preston Street but for price and quality of food, this place nudged it for me. Brighton overall is an expensive place and so you do expect to pay that bit more in comparison to other places however this place was quite reasonable. I opted for the Sweet and Sour chicken balls which i had with chips, which proved to be a good choice as it was nice. The next night i went back this time opting for the Beef Chow Mein, which again proved a good choice as it was delicious. The service was good too, an the chap behind the counter was friendly and helpful as he was advising me on what is around in the local area as far as shops/eateries/bars were concerned. I have nothing negative to say about the Magic Wok, i know that when i am back in Brighton, i will be heading back here. A big thumbs up!"
