"I have only visited this cafe twice in the past 6 months, and both times I encountered rude and aggressive behavior from the male owner. The first time, I left because he scolded me for closing the door in winter when I was the only customer there, and he was extremely picky and rude during our conversation. During my second visit, he was yelling at the staff, which is inappropriate and unsettling for customers. It's disappointing because the food is excellent and the other staff members are lovely. In conclusion, I would advise against supporting this man's business as his behavior is toxic and concerning for his staff and family."

"our caffe on royal deeside! great eating, great price, great welcome and great fine items especially the gf date oat disk (has begun to bake my own home to save money on takeaways! visited most caffes around ballater with the family in the last 3 years (if not in lockdown) and our teenage children decided to stay there in 2021 as our goto caffe of choice for all family visits when we stay there in april november. I'm glad they agreed with me. my son and I always have a vegetarian breakfast, regardless of the time of the day we visit and I have non-dairy options available in the coffee. wife and daughter love the panini sandwiches and various possibilities available. they should not be disappointed and the price is metaphorical, icing on the cake!"

"However, I noticed a few things that felt a bit off. It was a little uncomfortable watching servers walk through the new waiting area with customers' food orders, and it felt strange to walk through the pizza kitchen on the way to being seated in Sherrie's Happy Place. We were informed by the staff that the ambiance was meant to be reminiscent of a speakeasy, but it actually felt quite bright and was accompanied by somewhat loud pop music. Again, these are simply my observations and opinions. Personally, I prefer the restaurant's seating area for its more romantic feel, and I will definitely return for the amazing food!"

"The cafe gets a lot of negative reviews which to some extent I understand. We had coffee and a bacon roll here this morning and, whilst the place could improve it’s by no means bad the coffee and food we had was in fact very good and the service friendly. The COVID 19 procedures result in slow movement through the queue especially if customers don’t have the app; that said a simple organisational change could improve things, there simply aren’t sufficient staff to cook, take orders, deliver food and clear& clean tables it wasn’t busy when we were there but delays could build up up especially when staff tried to process a discount vouchers in part payment..... if your going to promote the cafe make sure staff understand the process."

"As a relatively new vegan, I was incredibly pleased with the fantastic falafel, Persian bread, and salad I had for lunch yesterday. It was like eating a rainbow! I honestly can't remember ever having such a vibrant, creative salad before. My only regret is that I didn't take a photo before I dug in. But that's okay, as I have two vegan friends coming to visit next weekend, and I know exactly where we're going!"

"We spent two nights DBB at The Duke of Marlborough. The staff, rooms and food were fab. We felt welcomed and really looked after. Shout out to Conchy and all the staff for a relaxing stay. We didn’t want to leave and will definitely be back! Great locality for visiting Blenheim Palace, Oxford, and the Cotswold villages. Rooms are comfy and modern, it was nice to come back to a serviced room and little touches such as bedside lights on made it cosy and inviting. Breakfast was excellent with locally sourced food. We would highly recommend the teriyaki beef starter and the haddock croquettes. The duck main was excellent and the mushroom gnocchi was the best I’ve tasted. Brilliant team."

"We were staying about 15 minutes away and decided to try this Chinese restaurant. We highly recommend the salt and pepper chicken pieces, fried rice (which actually has egg in it), and shredded chicken with special sauce. We deducted a star for the chips, as they were not to our taste, and the satay chicken did not come with skewers and the sauce was not great. We would come back here again if we were on holiday. The food was all really hot when it arrived. They also gave us free prawn crackers. The restaurant itself is quite cold, so we recommend ordering by phone while you wait."

"the first time that I have been to this place, they first treated the Iftar time properly, all had to, their drinks and even some beginners to break quickly. the food was nice, but what impressed me most was how at the point of the service was. the whole staff was real, attentive, controlled return, asked how the meal was, etc. I have never received this type of service in an Asian eating place in birmingham and it was such a nice feeling. After working in massive restaurant chains for most my food, I know the food service and most independent places fall short, but this place is not! defo goes back! happy birmingham has a place like this xx"

"I found the coffee to be quite expensive given the small size. The only food options available were pre-packaged cakes, which were also overpriced, and the seating area was closed. It was not very inviting, especially on a chilly day. I’m not sure why there weren’t any hot food options, as there were plenty of customers seeking warmth from the cold! Overall, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming, and I wouldn't recommend this place. As for dietary restrictions, I have no idea, but they didn't offer any plant-based milk. Regarding wheelchair accessibility, the restrooms were located up a slope."

"Visted 30/7/23. Don't expect a happy or warm welcome, we were ignored for a good few minutes when we went in, despite one or two servers glancing at us. When I asked one of them who appeared to be doing nothing if I could order, the other said I'd be seen to in a bit. After a few moments I was looked at, which I took as my prompt to order...thankfully I was right. Lemon cake tasted ok, latte tasted hotter than it should have been. View nice but other than that, wish we went to the cafe at the Sea Lock instead or the caravan park. Small business or not, no excuse for poor manners or coffee that's too hot. Wouldn't return, atmosphere higher due to location and view."

"We arrived 20 minutes before closing time and were unsure about what food might still be available, but there was no need for concern; everything we wanted was on the menu. We were quite hungry after a ride around the southern part of the island, which I highly recommend. The service was neither slow nor fast; it felt perfectly normal to us. The food was quite tasty— we ordered a couple of paninis, accompanied by salad and crisps. The cakes and coffee were also enjoyable. We accidentally sat at a table meant for four without noticing the sign asking it to be reserved for larger groups, but nobody seemed to mind. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience, although I can see how a surge of ferry passengers could pose challenges for the restaurant."

"Great food. But the two very young waitresses had a slight attitude due to business. When I asked for a table of two, her eyes rolled and her body language was as if to say yes that empty table but we are very busy . Secondly, the back of house staff cooking food were in constant argument with the two front of house girls, which for such a small place is heard by everyone eating. Shouting and arguing while I 'm having breakfast is not what I want. The food was lovely and the girls did put on fake smiles. I did see one fellow walk out quite angrily after being met with an attitude from the waitress. He was noticeably annoyed and from what I heard of the conversation she was trying to turn away business when there were clearly spaces free. The spaces however, had not been cleared of the previous guests crockery. A crying shame. This place could be ran better and staff should be trained on how to deal with stress. Keep the good food coming. Drop the attitudes from the front of house."

"Have visited this cafe many times over the years. Very disappointed by the communication and service yesterday. Arrived and got in the queue behind 4 men. Young girl came out at 1..40pm and asked if anyone was ordering food . The men said yes as did I. There wasn’t anyone behind me in the queue at the time. The girl came out and said yes it’s ok for food. The sign in the entrance clearly says closing at 3pm on a Saturday and taking orders up till an hour before. Stood inside at 1.50pm and the lady taking orders said very loudly to the men as she took their order “you are the last so you are very lucky.” Decided after waiting in the queue just for a Sausage barmcake and two slices of toast not to bother and just go home and make them myself. Would have been nice to be told the orders up to an hour before was now stretched to an hour and 10 minutes. Interesting that when I left by the door there wasn’t a queue of people waiting for food outside after giving their orders unlike my previous visit 3 weeks ago. Poor business sense when it’s very busy at the moment and they could have taken at least two more food orders. Will give it a miss from now on. Obviously not bothered about my business"

"We have been visiting Sally's Place for years!!! The choice of Ice Creams is amazing, after all these year I still haven't eaten my way through all the flavours. Sarah and her team are brilliant after a long walk up over the hills it's always lovely to visit and catch up. Our dogs always get spoiled with treats. The large bap stuffed with sausage bacon and egg is my favourite."

"If I could give it 0 starts I would. Food was awful, we threw it away. Left without tea for tonight as we have hardly anything in the fridge, from moving house. Ordered a mushroom omelette but it looked like it scrambled egg. There was so much “juice” at the bottom it was horrible. Chips are re-heated as well. When I ordered I forgot that to add curry sauce onto the order, the women said “you will have to pay by cash”, my response was “oh okay that’s fine I don’t have the cash just card so it’s okay” she laughed at me and said okay. Do not waste your money go to another Chinese. Waste. Of. Money!"

"The food at this restaurant is really delicious and the gentleman I spoke to on the phone was lovely. It's unfortunate that the experience was spoiled by a rude and ignorant delivery driver who had trouble finding the doorbell and blamed me for it. My best friend recommended this restaurant, but also had a bad experience with the delivery driver, noting that he was both rude and sexist. I have no complaints about the food or the restaurant itself, but I have decided not to order from them again because of this one employee. It's a shame that one person could tarnish the reputation of such a nice establishment."
