"Exceptionally good steak restaurant which easily matches anything in London and certainly outweighs anything locally. Do not be put by the pricing as the steak offered and rest of the menu are of a very high quality. A great experience."

"We've been there with a party of 9. Nice place, next to Green Park but I wouldn't recommend it. The whole experience was terrible. We felt rushed throughout the service, like they were trying to get us out of there as quick as possible. The waiter took the order, we ordered starters and mains, but the food came they had no idea who order what and it was coming as it was ready. During our meal, waiters where consistently clearing dishes from our table even if we didn't finished eating, they were trying to take even our drinks even if we had few sips left. I would never recommend such a place, when your paying 20 pounds for a cocktail and at least 15-20 pounds for a starter and mains start from 30-40 pounds you would expect a proper service. Also we order some margarita and the waiter came with a glass that had salt just on half of the rim, when pointed out he was trying to argue with us, explaining that they probably didn't put enough lemon so that's why the salt didn't stick on the glass...ohh wow great service... eventually he did agree to bring a new glass. So if you want to spend a lot of money and receive a poor service than I totally recommend this place if not for sure you can find better. Also the music was so loud that you couldn't hear each other across table..."

"I have been here on quite a few occasions and the food is always delicious and cooked well and the service is great. I usually go for a steak and sides. Having seen the roast dinners being served on my previous visits I decided to try the beef roast on this occasion. Both my mother and I were disappointed with what was served, I am certain that the Sunday roast menu must have changed recently. Firstly, I would like to say that the beef was cooked perfectly and was really tasty, there just wasn't much of it. The roast potatoes were also delicious. What I could not understand is that no greens come with the meal, the only veg was a huge carrot cut in half. I understand that we are expected to order side dishes if we want any vegetables on our roast... given the price of the meal and the small portion you receive I do not think this is at all value for money. I will not be back for a roast dinner again."

"I highly recommend both the food and the service in this lovely pub in a picturesque village. The food is of a very superior standard but do remember it is a pub and not a gourmet restaurant. Excellent fish and chips had by me, a special 2 course lunch at £11.50 which my friend pronounced delicious. Good wine by the glass and exceptional and friendly service both by the serving staff and at the bar. I will definitely return here, the pub should be very proud of its welcome to visitors and its high standards"

"We had a wonderful dining experience at Cau, a fantastic restaurant located in the heart of Edinburgh. After having trouble finding a quiet breakfast spot due to fully booked reservations, we were lucky enough to stumble upon Cau. The interior and exterior of the restaurant were charming, and we were pleased with the reasonable prices on the menu. I ordered the ultimate steak sandwich, and it exceeded all of my expectations. The steak was cooked perfectly and incredibly tender, and the sweet potato fries were equally delicious. The service was also excellent, with friendly and attentive staff. I would definitely give Cau a perfect 10/10 rating and would not hesitate to visit again in the future."

"Review by Frau: The overall experience at this restaurant was good, with great starters, but there were a few disappointing aspects. Firstly, there was a delay in getting our food served. Secondly, the drinks we ordered were brought out inconsistently, with one of our drinks even given to another table. In terms of the food, my husband's steak and lamb were undercooked despite his request for them to be cooked thoroughly. The food was also too salty for my parents' liking, which is rare for us as a family who enjoys salty dishes. The prawn curry I had was advertised as a coconut curry but tasted predominantly of lime, which was unexpected. My sister's order of Tacos was initially forgotten until we reminded the waitress, who seemed reluctant to serve us and appeared disinterested. The cocktails we ordered seemed watered down, with little flavor. With improvements in communication and service, this restaurant has the potential to be a great dining spot."

"Didn't take pics of our food..it was a birthday dinner! But this is one of those gems that people brag about finding and MANY lesser establishments pretend to be. The real thing.. a gastronomic delight! Seriously good, unpretentious and while at the upper end price wise, is astonishing value for money. Also has proper veggie, vegan and gluten free options that are not tokenism but read tasty enough to tempt a carnivore! I had a pork chop that was served on a totally awesome compote of butter beans, bacon and courgette that was creamy and a bit reminiscent of stroganoff! And had crackling frags on top! MeJulie had a steak and ale pie, her chum a Dover Sole. It was delicious. I had the three cheese selection for afterwards. British and damn high quality, they were truly excellent. Julie was not as impressed by the rhubarb trifle...and after finishing it for her( both felt it needed a tangy something and was a bit bland. Katie who served us, was a star and clearly cares about and is proud of the establishment she works for. Just gorgeous food and lovely atmosphere. If you are not going out as much, THIS place is worthy of your new austerity entertainment budget! Loved it"

"visited the cross gaits for lunch pure because they had vegan options. the place itself is beautiful with huge outdoor seating, fantastic on a sunny day and inside is modern but cozy. we ordered tofu bites, banana blossom fish n chips and wild mushroom squash gnocchi. the food was delicious, good portions and we left clean plates. the staff was very friendly, especially Adam, who I suspect is the renter. the menu was slightly reduced as the construction work on the store were more limited, but a new menu is published in juli, so gives me an apology to go back. loved it and great the vegan options are satisfying dishes not some tokens like salat."

"We spent a little while looking for Cantina including looking around the back of the building for an entrance, however that seems to be an upstairs sometimes only offer [shrug]. The Old Red Bus Station is a city centre bar on Vicar Lane in what was until 1990 a bus station complete with a newsagent. It is now a grungy industrial bar which is open late into the night/morning. There are bench tables near the entrance door and we opted for the darker atmosphere in the back. I won burgers for two in a Christmas competition and only paid for our drinks. I needn't have booked as the bar was quiet even on the Thursday afternoon before Christmas. The menu can be downloaded and I hope to add a 2023 screenshot. The Christmas special burger was off so we had two Spicy Chick N Stacks, with fries. Also Vocation IPA and a bus station pilsner. The food arrived promptly with a smile. The french fries were perfect and we really enjoyed the burgers. Be advised that they really mean it when they call them spicy. One diner ditched the pickles which the other ate. I see from the menu that the second burger is only £1 on Thursday which means great value for 2. We enjoyed our visit and I will certainly return for a quick bite and beer whilst out in Leeds. Especially on Thursdays. Probably not somewhere I will go for a romantic destination meal."

"We were in the area looking for Sunday lunch so stopped by the Coventry Arms. The pub felt cramped and flew not well inside, but with a large outdoor area. The service was from the bar, although you had to be the right side of the bar, like me and several after me, were clearly stated. The young employees were enthusiastic, even until the point of a person tried to take our order twice! Food was hot, but quality wasn't great. It's a shame because you could hear that employees do their best for everyone."

"My wife and I went to CAU Wilmslow on our first date since the birth of our first child this week. Everything was great until we had to leave after about 1 hour. I asked for our food to take home in boxes and when the man returned with the food he gave us a bottle of wine on the house and was sorry we had to rush off. We were surprised and delighted with this level of customer service it was such a kind and genuine gesture. We will definitely return when Sofia is a little older."

"Such a wonderful surprise. We're not local. Were staying in the area and googled local pubs. Chose the Windmill for its proximity. Wow, what a dining experience. Beautifully thought out menu. Really good service and a lovely English pub setting. The food is superb. A little gem. If you are in the area I would recommend."

"We were staying several nights at Kingston upon the Thames and walked along the riverfront one evening looking for someone to have dinner and decided to give Cote a try. It was early dinner, and not too busy. We choose an outside patio table as the weather was decent and had a nice view of the river and people walking by. Our server was fairly new, but did his best to take care of us, sometimes asking for help from others when he was not sure. Overall the service was quite good. We had french onion soup and capers for appetizer. Both tasty and served promptly. For mains we had the Chicken and Salmon, both quite delicious. For dessert the creme brulee and berries with ice cream. Towards the end it was getting quite busy, so I'm glad we went early. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxing meal and good value. Definitely recommend it."

"Very good cuts, great meal. Coming from the likes of Hawksmoor, Smith and Wollenskys and Goodman in London (and Morton’s in New York last month to dining at a provincial chain in Reading, I wasn’t expecting much. Miller and Carter Reading were quite poor indeed by comparison so I imagined they set the bar low, that this was the standard of service you get from a typical chain restaurant outside the capital. However I was very wrong indeed. Cuts of steak, (up to a 600g sirloin! preparation, marinades were very tasty indeed and good quality, the service was first rate and all things considered added up to a very enjoyable occasion. Thanks very much guys. One small request, ordering medium well doesn’t usually equate to rare in the middle for me but the cut was so good just to hold it under the flame for a few more seconds seemed like an unnecessary additional request, and I may have misunderstood the Argentinian benchmark. For those used to a more UK centric dining experience, I would suggest a translation of medium well medium rare here, but maybe that was just a one off based on the size of the cut I ordered. Otherwise five stars and hope to be back."

"I took my mom out for her birthday to this wonderful restaurant. The ambience was lovely and I highly recommend trying the Bay Tree Rossini - it was delicious. I would definitely return. The service, meal type, dinner, and price per person were all great. I rated the food, service, and atmosphere a 5 out of 5. I recommend trying the Steak Rossini."

"We have just returned from lunch at the Woodside. We have been here a few times over the years on and off but we haven't been recently and I can't praise the place enough. The staff were attentive and friendly. We were sat on a nice table by some patio doors and didn't feel crammed in like some places. Myself and my husband had a sharing platter to start which was really good. I then had the Korean chicken skewers with triple cooked chips and the most delicious slaw/salsa I've ever had. Usually when you get chicken skewers you get pieces of chicken breast but this skewer had three delicious whole chicken thighs. The chips were hot and tasty. My husband had the steak and Merlot pie which was a proper pie (not a stew with a lid on). He really enjoyed his meal also. It wasn't cheap but I really don't mind paying if the food is good, and it was. Will be returning."

"beautiful location with view. three options for vegans, the curry that we were both chosen was from the menu when we ordered. we then chose the tagine, which was small and tasteless and inspiring. one of us went for the fungus starter that could upgrade to a vegan feta and a net size. they calculated £13.90 for two field mushrooms, an salat garnish and some vegan cheese, we were robbed. when is the standard all in order with their meal times? I answered, it is tasteless and there is simply not enough food, we ordered a bowl chips to calm our hunger, no reduction was offered to the price, just an apology of our very good waitress that she did very best when in the opposite, they try the white lions in thakeham, stunning vegans choice, jackfruitka"
