"platz was really busy when we arrived with people who were not booked away, so it is very popular. the staff was friendly and helpful. the table was a bit small and sometimes felt somewhat cramped, especially with overlapping table sets. it was also next to the disabled toilet. (hence the -1 star) eating was really nice and cooked, just as we asked. they also had an extensive wine list with very beautiful weeping. I'd go back if I knew I was sitting somewhere else."

"Amazing Carbonara was blown away by it. Unfortunately the goat’s cheese starter was awful cold and cloying and lacking in dressing. To finish I tried the tiramisu which should be light and fluffy, this was solid, stodgy and had a weird taste??? I finished with an Irish Coffee which did t even appear to have cream and was really an awful version of the classic. The cream was mixed with the coffee which was not great and the coffee was instant! If you like carbonara and very friendly hospitality then go, just avoid the goat’s cheese, tiramisu and Irish Coffee."

"Went for wings Wednesday with a few work friends. Arrived at the location and shown to our table. Took 15 minutes for our first round of drinks to arrive after ordering with staff. This was because the only waitress on duty was having a chat with the kitchen staff out of sight and forgetting customers. There was only my group and 2 other tables so not a busy day. Had to wait 25 to 30 mins for food once ordered. When I ask the chef if the waitress was still working or was she on part time hours and gone home. I was told to be quiet and sit down and order with the waitress who was never around. The chef was very rude and aggressive. I could then hear the staff including the waitress Kat in the kitchen being disrespectful about the group and myself. I was then approached by Kat and challenged in an aggressive manner. My first brew dog experience. Safe to say I won’t be going back to any branch if is what brew dog is all about."

"I ate at Bariloche with my family on a Friday night. What ruined the experience off the bat was the live music performer while the performance itself was fine, the music itself was so loud that the waiter could barely hear our order! We didn't order starters and the food took forever to arrive almost 30 minutes give or take. Shame because the meat dishes were actually very good, particularly the limo de bife. I'm afraid we shan't be returning, their offer of an after dinner drink on the house notwithstanding."

"We have just returned from lunch at the Woodside. We have been here a few times over the years on and off but we haven't been recently and I can't praise the place enough. The staff were attentive and friendly. We were sat on a nice table by some patio doors and didn't feel crammed in like some places. Myself and my husband had a sharing platter to start which was really good. I then had the Korean chicken skewers with triple cooked chips and the most delicious slaw/salsa I've ever had. Usually when you get chicken skewers you get pieces of chicken breast but this skewer had three delicious whole chicken thighs. The chips were hot and tasty. My husband had the steak and Merlot pie which was a proper pie (not a stew with a lid on). He really enjoyed his meal also. It wasn't cheap but I really don't mind paying if the food is good, and it was. Will be returning."

"We used to frequent this pub often in the past, but heard that it had changed ownership, so we decided to meet our friends here. We were excited to catch up with friends we hadn't seen in a while. However, when we arrived, my husband inquired about their ale selection and was informed they only had Harveys with no other options. The server who brought our drinks had dirty fingernails, which was off-putting. When it came time to order food, one of our friends asked about a Christmas menu and was told it needed to be pre-ordered, as stated on their website. Despite our frequent visits in the past, we had not checked the website. The food was tasty, but the service was lacking. We had to request drinks and were not asked about our meals once they arrived. At 9:40, a lady approached us with the bill and informed us they were closing soon. When we asked for another drink, we were denied. My husband requested to remove the service charge, which caused some tension with the lady taking payment. She questioned why he wouldn't pay it, stating that everyone charges it, which we found rude. Overall, the poor service has discouraged us from returning or recommending the pub to others, despite the delicious food. It's disappointing, as we had hoped the new management would focus on attracting and retaining customers."

"looks a nice place, almost £18 for 3 pints bierbag! ordered 1 spit roast chicken and 2 chicken, cheese ham pies. roasting small and dry pies had chicken carving in some cheese processed a small spekke of ham .over all very bad especially for the price. ticket cost were £46, when terminal presented it £56 good work I checked. where are these good reviews? it must be better! Don't waste your money."

"Wasn’t overly impressed. Sweet potato fries and husbands skinny fries both seemed really greasy. Bread for a nibble at for four thin dry slices of bread seemed excessive. As was for small pieces of pork in an overly greasy tampura batter. Steak wasn’t the best I’ve had and came with half a mushroom!! Didn’t have dessert as didn’t want to spend any more!! Wouldn’t come back. Water jug was stainless steel and seemed dirty and water stained."

"We visited on the 27th December for a late lunch, our party was 5 adults and a 7 year old. We were sat in a booth- a bit of a tight squeeze and did result in some kind of elbow jousting game that we could have done without. We ordered our drinks (a must try is the strawberry and mint margarita which did take a while to arrive; this was an ongoing issue and most probably down to the fact that their very competent bar man was making drinks for the whole restaurant with 4-5 servers sending through orders all the time. Our food was amazing, we ordered a platter for 2- this is well worth the price tag and lets you try many different dishes without the headache of trying to choose! Our son had a burger from the kids menu which he devoured (all parents reading this will be well aware of how rare this can be . We had no room for pudding so cannot comment on these. I would most definitely recommend this restaurant for their food and drinks but would suggest to the management that they do a bit more training with their FOH staff to tighten up their service to avoid communication issues and a feeling of neglect."

"Lovely lunch, although it would have been nice to be told what veg we would be given, as my partner didn't like red cabbage. I did not want to say anything and embarrass anyone. My lamb was delicious and his mixed roast was good too. Service excellent. The only thing was it was quite dark in the restaurant. Think it was an old building. Will go back."

"The restaurant and bar has a lovely atmosphere, and the cocktails are quite good. However, they were late in seating us, and it took 20 minutes for us to order drinks even after we seated ourselves. The food was disappointing; the seabass ceviche was overcooked and very fishy with little flavor. Overall, everything took a long time to arrive, and it was difficult to get the attention of the staff. The experience felt a bit chaotic and disorganized."

"We decided on a whim to go and eat at this steakhouse! We happened to be in the area, were not expecting much but from the start of arrival we could tell it was fine dining experience restaurant. The servers were very friendly and attentive, what I really liked was that the seating they offered us was one that we were comfortable with. Then once we settled they presented us with the menu, which has a price range that was very agreeable for element of the style steak restaurant one would expect, for some maybe slightly on the high end but alternative main courses were there under £20 per person. We ordered two virgin Mojito’s and very kindly they advised they had the classic but also a passion fruit mix mojito, we tried both and were one of the best we’ve tried. Food once it arrived was excellent, steak was done perfectly. Overall a great experience and highly recommend this restaurant especially for the steak. Lots of parking around in the evening, during the day you would probably have to park further out."

"Don’t stay here. My husband and I booked three nights and were so unhappy we ditched the last night (no refund) to get a new hotel. Dark, dingy rooms and the tub had black mold in it. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable and even with me being sick and on cold medicine, I hardly got any sleep for two nights and woke up with a stiff back. The WiFi was a joke, one bar the whole time and if you moved at all, it would disconnect. The breakfast was good, it’s more of a restaurant setting where you order a hot meal and can serve up some cereal and fruit for yourself (gave two stars for the food). I would just eat at their restaurant but don’t stay for the night!"

"Fantastic service and great atmosphere. We we're only there for a coffee, but we want to return for a meal. The decor is very stylish, and it looks like a place that is great for food, drinks, whatever. "I was in London to attend a conference and was looking for a good steak restaurant after the event close out. I was pleasently surprised to find this charming Argentinian restaurant with excellent reviews. I walked there from the station with my rain coat. The ambiance was nice and the food was great, but unfortunately I had a very unpleasent experience which I will proceed to illustrate. There were many white Europeans inside and a lady who looked Asian. I am from Angola, but look a little Arabic due to my lighter complexion. People payed normally and left. When it was my turn to pay, I too asked for the bill from the younger waiter and paid. Apparently, the older (supposedly Argentinian) waiter did not see me pay and when I left the restaurant she went after me outside inquiring if I had paid. I then showed her the card receipt as evidence. This event was quite saddening to me. There were some German tourists outside who witnessed the occurrence as they were leaving as well. Whether I can blame this on a bias I really don't know, but what I can share is that this really changed the whole mood of my trip which had been quite pleasent up to that point. Appart from that, everything was great. The restaurant is really nice, the other waiter who happened to be from Romania was really friendly, and the food was excellent. Maybe I was just unlucky."

"It's basically Turtle Bay but with a Mexican theme. Usual chain features: large, echoey open plan floor with bright colours. I remember disliking the music. Food and service was OK but not particularly memorable. I only visit Newcastle on business and my employer insists that I use their American Express card. I thought a chain would take Amex but they don't. Seems strange when Turtle Bay does. I wish I had researched it a bit better before I went. Their refusal of American Express is the main reason why I won't be visiting again."

"Lovely food and atmosphere. Went here for lunch on the eat out to help out deal. I had the swordfish (waiter's recommendation) it was lovely. The veg and sauce tasted fresh and the fish cookery was very good. My girlfriend had the calzone and it was so massive that everyone else in the restaurant was commenting on how good and how big it looked. I tried a bit and it was excellent. Nice dough, plenty of filling and tasty tomato sauce. Service was quick. Portion sizes were large so go on an empty belly. Excellent value for money, will return and I will recommend to family and friends."
