"I stumbled upon this restaurant while wandering through town and was immediately drawn in by the enticing aroma of spices. I was not disappointed in the least. I opted for a variety of dishes, starting with some extra hot and deliciously tingly chicken wings. The chicken was of high quality and the sauce was both spicy and tangy. The beef skewer was a bit on the pricier side and slightly overcooked, but that is to be expected from a place that mainly specializes in chicken. The fries were standard but elevated by the peri peri salt sprinkled on top. The presentation on a slate board enhanced the dining experience. The service was exceptional for a fast food joint and there was ample seating. I would definitely return for another visit!"

"Wow, what a little gem of a place! Visiting Cheltenham for the first time, after exploring the town, feeling a bit peckish, sort of stumbled into Vegetus. Not exactly on the high street, but a few minutes walk off the main drag. Cosy, and welcoming, quite busy on Saturday lunchtime, we hadn't pre booked, so we sat outside in the sunshine for a few minutes while our table was prepared. The vibe is decidedly middle eastern, with the jolliest of hosts. His infectious good humour permeates the place. Spotlessly clean and well organised, we ordered a tagine and a mousaka, with the Beirut cooler for a non alcoholic drink. Both generous servings were delivered after a few minutes, piping hot and delicious. For dessert we had warm baklava with ice cream and a totally yummy (egg free) chocolate cake. The desert was so good, we split it, boxed it and took a slice home for our daughter! I cannot recommend this place enough, we now have a good reason to go back to Cheltenham. Try it, you will love it."

"We initially had a reservation for afternoon tea but decided to switch to the regular menu instead. The staff appeared to have no issue with this change. However, during this visit, we encountered a significant problem; we were told it would be classified as a no-show and that we would be charged for it. Earlier in the week, I had also called to reserve a table for afternoon tea at 1:30 PM, but I was told to arrive at 12 PM because the 1:30 slot was unavailable. We ended up staying until 2:40 PM, so it was clear there was no need for us to change our reservation. Additionally, our table was not properly cleaned, and we ended up ordering food via the app after our afternoon tea because we did not receive any service during our visit."

"The restaurant staff blatantly lied to my husband and I just to refuse service to us, because we aren't white! I have given star because I can't give a negative one.To give a background, I used to pass by this restaurant many times and noticed it was always empty even though it looked nice. A couple of days ago, I understood exactly why! We walked in here at PM on a Saturday and the restaurant had no customers except a white elderly couple. Since this looks like a fairly casual place (and also because no staff was in sight) we proceeded inside and were just about to help ourselves to a table. Just as we were about to sit, this waiter walked out of the kitchen and very rudely asked what we were doing there "Hi, hello, what do you want Despite him being so rude, we asked if we could have table for two. Now this place has at least tables, each capable of seating at least people, and of these only one table was occupied with one elderly couple. Remember it was also only PM, far for peak hours. The waiter told us that ALL the tables were reserved. When I asked if all the tables were reserved, he said all of them were. When I asked him till what time, he said for all evening. Now this restaurant is open till in the night. I looked around and saw no reserved tags. He was clearly lying.We made our way out. If you believe every human should be respected irrespective of colour, class or creed, avoid this restaurant like the plague!"

"This was our first time visiting this restaurant. It was very busy for a Sunday, which is always a good sign. We were warmly greeted by the staff who allowed us to choose our preferred seating. The menu was presented nicely and we appreciated being able to see the dishes before ordering. We decided on the mixed grill, which featured a variety of kebabs. Our favorites were the lamb and chicken wings, all of which tasted delicious. We had so much food that we ended up taking home two large containers. The prices were very reasonable for the generous portions. I would be surprised if anyone left this place feeling hungry! We will definitely be visiting one of their other locations in the future."

"Late lunch with my son, After we had ordered, he started reading reviews, sounded pretty awful but I said to him what other reviews have these people written? The drinks arrived along with complementary humus and flat bread. Probably the best humus I have eaten. He had grilled haloumi to start, he didn 't complain. Next the mains, lamb moussaka, lamb kofta and coated fried chicken. The moussaka was up there with the best, the hot koftas were marvelous but it was the rice that did it for me, individual extra long grains with a fantastic floral taste. The chicken went down well with a comment that was good (praise from a 17 year old). I enjoyed the pomegranate drink it was a welcome change. After we dropped him off at home in Lincoln he said thanks, the meal was really great. My only comment was the tape loop music, we heard the same songs (pan-pipes) twice. Don 't believe the bad reviews, this is an excellent restaurant. Very friendly and reasonable value thanks for the complimentary Baklava, which was also excellent"

"If I could I would give 0 stars. Extremely disrespectful staff for a whole £15 which mentions a mix grill platter on the menu they didn’t give any platter or a proper mix grill they only gave one plate which was full of salad a few odd chips some rice and a very small portion of the chicken that couldn’t even feed one person let alone as a mix grill for two people. The burger was cold after waiting 45 minutes for the food so I asked them to reheat which they did but were rude and calling after me whilst I’m walking to the table. Would not recommend the shwarma burger at all the shwarma wrap was okay but too bland and plain no spices or taste involved at all. At that point I just wanted to eat my food I was really hungry after the long wait yet one arrogant small minded waiter came by to pick a fight with me when it wasn’t even my own food I sent to get warmed as had come with friends and didn’t want anyone to eat cold food. Anyways he came to our table specifically to pick a fight with me and ruin our food more than it was already. Absolutely disrespectful waiters not a restaurant in any terms downright sexist men attacking on us ladies that were on our own and think they get away with disrespecting women since there was no man with us. I don’t know if they were Muslim but if so then astagfirullah as we are Muslim too but know respect when it is shown and this was absolutely disgusting there’s no words that can explain how they made me feel. These words do not sum up how much anxiety and how much those stupid men disheartened me and tried to fight me for no reason when it was their own fault. The food was raw if you go then go at your own accord because the raw chicken will make you ill. Absolutely disgusted appalled and for the first time in my life it will be my first time and last time at a soo called restaurant but more of a takeaway."

"I ate in at roosters on 21.01.23 and had a bad experience. The food came very late, so late I had to ask for how long it was going to take. The staff were confused and said they didn’t have an order. "This was one of the best falafel sandwiches I had in Scotland: the falafel themselves were very tasty, the pickles just perfectly tangy and both the sesame sauce and the green hot chili sauce staggeringly delicious. Three of their falafel sandwiches are marked vegan. Staff was exceptionally friendly as well and the prices are cheap particularly their special offers, if you are really hungry. "The gyros wrap I had was really tasty but overall visit was let down by poor hygiene from one of the staff (the only one not wearing gloves) who I observed wiping his hands on his jeans t-shirt scratching his bare skin before making people's orders. Not a pleasant sight, especially not during a pandemic! Fortunately my order was made by a different member of staff at my request and I could still enjoy my food."

"Well I will start with the good points friendly staff and reasonable priced drinks. That’s where it ends we have visited a couple of times to see if our first visit was a one off bad experience. Unfortunately this was not the case people openly vaping in the bar each time we visited with the staff turning a blind eye. On one visit to the gents a couple of young men openly waiting to get into the cubicle and audible snorting and then leaving a couple of seconds later. The place appears to be quite so I can see why the management don’t want to confront these people and possibly lose the trade whoever it’s counter productive as decent people will not want to visit with this sort of thing going on. Green king needs to get a grip as this establishment is supposed to be family friendly I for one wouldn’t take children there. They need to be reported to the local authority as I’m sure they will be breaking the terms of the license."
