"After finding this place using this app, I was not disappointed! A friend and I went for lunch where you can get three dishes off the menu for £12.50. Everything is labelled vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, and dairy free. I had the soupa, the bravas, and the manitaria all vegan; my friend had the falafel (vegan), the arancini (vegetarian) and the greek salad (vegetarian). We got complimentary bread and hummus too. The soup was really tasty and my friend loved the arancini (sort of like cheese balls). She said the greek salad was good but it had a lot of tomatoes in it so if you are a big fan of tomatoes then it could be perfect for you! Everything else we had was really nice too, and the service was excellent. The young lady who served us was so nice and whenever I asked about whether something was vegan she always promptly returned with an answer from the chef or the boss. It's a small place, but it does have more room downstairs for larger numbers of people. I would highly recommend this place, it was a very good first meal in Edinburgh definitely set us right after a long journey!"

"I went with the family to celebrate the day of mother. Once we got into the dig, we were greeted with a big welcome. we also reported before the hand that the pay machine did not work so that advised to bring cash. eating was the best libanese I tasted, fresh bread, freshly cooked falafel simply amazing, and impeccable service. we will be definitiw in the summer to sit outside. keep the good standards and give them a big thanks to the cook."

"beautiful, authentic decoration, friendly staff who like to explain what the food was. Not a huge menu, but enough to choose from which I prefer to see it clearly (and taste) that thought and effort in what we have done for us. not hurry to decide what we wanted, beautiful and relaxed. would have eaten again. endpoint, on the menu there is a baby chicken main course. it's not a gone baby, it was a whole huh, that was beautiful!"

"Last Sunday, I treated my mother to a birthday brunch at Two Sisters restaurant. As soon as we arrived, we were warmly greeted and given information about our brunch options, including the buffet or special brunch dishes, as well as the option for turkey bacon instead of pork. I believe this restaurant is the perfect spot for a leisurely brunch, especially for a mother-daughter outing. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food and excellent service. We initially used a Groupon for our visit, but we were so impressed that we would gladly return even without a discount. It was definitely worth it."

"What could be better than excellent Lebanese food paired with high-quality shisha straight from Lebanon! This restaurant offers the best non-chain casual dining experience at an affordable price."

"Most Lebanese and many Turkish restaurants tend to cook using soya bean oil which is helpful for my wife who is unable to tolerate rapeseed and palm oil. We called into the Cedar Tree on a midweek lunchtime when the restaurant was virtually empty and asked the proprietor what oil he cooked with. He was immediately rude and asked if we wanted lunch today or tomorrow. Then insisted that the restaurant used 'grapeseed ' which I find very surprising, and made it clear that diners with any food intolerance were not welcome. We made his life easy, though his business less profitable, by just walking out. What a horribly rude man. I had eaten here in the past with friends who did not have any dietary issues, but will never return to this restaurant. Does not even deserve a 1 star review, but this is the lowest score available."

"We were the only customers in the restaurant on a Thursday night, which was disappointing. However, we enjoyed some delicious meat mezze to start and the main dishes were very tasty. The marinade used on the meat made it moist and tender. I ordered the lamb cutlets and was pleasantly surprised to find 5 on my plate. The baklavas for dessert were okay. The only downside was that I mentioned it was a birthday dinner, but they did not do anything special for the occasion."

"We went to Retro on Saturday for what will probably be the last time. The service was poor. If you want anything here you have to ask for it several times, but that's no guarantee you'll get it. I felt sorry for the young woman who was helping out I don't think she'd been trained. Removing the plates from the previous course before bringing the next one seems obvious, but my friends and I found ourselves doing that job. The food was average at best the special was rice with what appeared to be lumps of roast chicken plonked on top of it and little else. The portions are not generous so we asked for and got extra bread to make up for it. I asked for Lebanese beer they didn't have it only Bud. I asked for the Bud I didn't get it, we asked for water we didn't get it we asked for the candle to be lit (three times it went out a metaphor for the evening). At least this time they had Lebanese wine which was good. Like other tripadvisor critics we noticed a bloke going in and out with shopping. Odd!. We had a pleasant evening but that had everything to do with the company and the wine and little to do with Retro. We first went there back in 04/05 and have been there at least six/seven times over the years. It used to be good. Sadly last Sat was the last time."

"When I returned to San Francisco from my trip, I discovered a new passion for juicing. I started experimenting with different combinations of kale, cucumbers, beets, apples, lemons, and ginger. Unfortunately, I couldn't bring my juicer with me due to limited luggage space."

"Traditional Lebanese restaurant, serving delicious, authentic cuisine at very reasonable prices. Plenty of open air seating with heaters. I would like to emphasis how impressive the staff are: friendly, efficient and exceptionally welcoming, working tirelessly to keep the customers happy. 100% recommend this place and will definitely be coming back."

"A really nice and laid back spot to go and hang out. In a really busy area this is one of the few places you can enjoy a nice quiet meal or drink. Lebanese food is usually very good and it's no different in this place. They do an excellent shawarma so that's what I'd reccomend. They've got shisha and nice hot drinks so you can go and cozy up during the winter or anytime really. The service is excellent and staff are very friendly."

"I’m sure I’ve written a review before but this was so good it deserved another one. My family come here on every visit to Brighton and it never disappoints. Indeed I’m surprised it’s not busier as the food is very good and cheap. Great relaxed ambiance too. Despite not being here for two years the host remembered us, a nice touch. Mixed meze for 1 is a great starter for two people, my wife had the lamb tagine, I had tagine lamb kebab, both delicious. With my child getting a kid’s portion and no corkage for the wine it worked out £41 before tip. Absolute bargain."

"D.S.A. Having dinned at at the Dock Kitchen being within the trade for 20 years.. I was in a gentle manner let down!!! What i enjoyed, was my well selected wine. The server had no knowledge of the daily menu yes we were neglected so when the service charge is included on the bill I feel it is somewhat a chick, The extraction seemed to be clogged the grills smoke made it hard to find my partner. However, I must admit my Veal chop was cooked right! Overall I did find the whole meal to be stodgy, from starter, to main, including the dessert which was like sand on my pallet. Every dish had a minimum of the main ingredient a substantial amount of starch to choke up...read more"

"The atmosphere at this restaurant is fantastic and the food is delicious. The hummus is outstanding and we enjoyed every bite. The main courses are generous in size, while the appetizers are smaller but packed with flavor. We were very happy with the quality and quantity of food for the £30 we spent. The BYOB policy is a nice touch. This restaurant is a great choice for a casual yet enjoyable dining experience."

"I ordered plain rice and extra samosas. I received five containers of samosas and plain rice that was seasoned with a foul-smelling seasoning. I complained through JustEats but received no response for compensation. I am hesitant to try any other dishes from this restaurant. I will definitely pass on whatever seasoning they use."
