"The atmosphere at this restaurant is fantastic and the food is delicious. The hummus is outstanding and we enjoyed every bite. The main courses are generous in size, while the appetizers are smaller but packed with flavor. We were very happy with the quality and quantity of food for the £30 we spent. The BYOB policy is a nice touch. This restaurant is a great choice for a casual yet enjoyable dining experience."

Great food super flavoursome and meat always cooked to perfection! Love the BYOB with no corkage charge. Staff are friendly and the restaurant is fairly small but really nice atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Firstly, remember it is BYOB and does not have a license to serve alcohol. Secondly, every dish we 've tried there has been fantastic, the best being the zena spicy chicken. Top tips: one side of rice will serve two people and the chips are surprisingly excellent

this was a very random visit, went past zena and chose one of the best random decisions I made. the owner was a great host, we went in when the kitchen was almost closed, but he spoke to the chef in our job. the cozy restaurant and the eating are amazing. beautiful levantin kitchen, not too spicy, good taste and texture. my new fave place to eat.

The food at this restaurant was truly delicious! We ordered multiple small plates to share for our main course and everything was fantastic, cooked perfectly. The king's snacks were a standout dish! Despite the restaurant being busy, the dining experience was excellent and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening here and would highly recommend it!

Whenever we go out, we always make sure to stop by Zena. The food is fantastic, the staff is friendly, courteous, and extremely attentive. They allow customers to bring their own drinks and provide bottle openers and glasses. As it tends to get crowded, making a reservation is highly recommended to secure a table. Personally, I adore this place and believe it is definitely worth a visit.

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
