"Haven't visited this place recently, as we've not had many warm summer evenings of late, but and these seem few and far between. The restaurant is one of a chain of Spaghetti Houses in central London and is within easy walking distance of the British Museum. Its charm is the large, open air shopping arcade in which it is situated. It itself, this restaurant is a decent, run-of-the-mill outlet specialising in simple, Italian dishes, all suitably tuned to the average, British taste. The wine list is standard and has a good range of low-budget wines to suit just about any non-discerning wine buff. The menu is simple and not too detailed, but with enough choice to cater for (almost) every carnivore, with vegetarian options available too. The choice of pasta dishes is extensive and they always seem to find special shapes of pasta that you just cannot buy in any shop! The quality of the food has never disappointed. The thing that has always attracted us to this place is not just the tasty pasta dishes, but also the wide, quite grand, Victorian' arcade. It is lined with small shops and book stores and the restaurant has created a very pleasant and comfortable dining area with rows of tables and chairs to the side of the walkway. So simple, yet very useful if you don't want to sit inside a warm, crowded restaurant in the summer or if you have a pushchair and young children, or if you have an elderly relative with a zimmer frame or in a wheelchair. The staff are always really good with young children and very friendly. Each time we've visited they have always been an all-Italian crew. And very jolly they are too!"

"Upon placing our orders, we were told by the waiter that they were using a new ' concept ' in dining, whereby they would bring the items to the table in any order whenever they were ready from the kitchen, and that we were welcome to share them among ourselves. Upon questioning, he then explained that this was a very successful concept that had been operating in London for 8 years. In fact, the last of our 4 starters arrived 40 minutes after the first, and we waited over 2 hours for our mains. After being promised that they would all arrive together, again various waiters attempted to put down one plate on the table and tell us that the others were on the way. We sent them back twice. When all 4 mains arrived they were , sadly, ice cold. after 2 and a half hours. The owner was not able to explain any of this nonsense to us, and the entire experience was a real insult to our intelligence. In a lame attempt at compensation one waiter actually brought out 3 tiny appetiser bites, but there were 4 of us at the table. The whole thing was utterly unbelievable. The other tables were the same; a whole room full of people with nothing on the table or one dish on the table for 2 or 3 people. I 've never seen a restaurant fail so completely, and attempt to lie their way through it. They should not have taken bookings that night, or sent us away at the start of the evening instead of wasting our entire evening to give us food that we could even eat. In the end we had to leave without dinner. No matter what the challenges were in the kitchen this particular evening, this was no way to treat customers. This is the last time we 'll eat here."

"we came in as we had a buy, get a free cream tee pass through the john Lewis Card app. After we had ordered ourselves and sat down, it took about 15 minutes until our tee was brought over us, what we thought was one, but when it was a Sunday afternoon and we reasonably understood. we thought the skorn would follow, but they didn't, in that we waited another 15/20 minutes and nothing came. our table was right next to the counter so we could see that many drinks/kissen/mice are placed on tablets and brought to other tables. we asked one of the servers if we could have the rest of our order, because he had not all come, she said (without apology offered) and checked our table number before she went back behind the counter. but nothing came back and after another 10 minutes we had enough and had to go as we needed to be elsewhere. we went and asked if we could have a refund because it was ridiculous that we would wait for over 45 minutes until a cake is placed on a plate. the dame at the time was the one who had taken our order and we asked where our food was when she passed, but she still looked out that we were angry! she went and got someone else, I guess her manager, who then told us that we could not have a refund because we used a voucher and included our ordering a free article. why that meant that we could not get a refund that I don't know, we didn't ask for the money for two things, just for those we paid. they said the best they could do was give us the objects, and within less than a minute they were piled. Amazing that it could be done so quickly, considering how long we had originally waited! I can't say if the actual cakes were good or not because we had to go somewhere else this afternoon, so they had to be left in a warm car for several hours and until we came home, the pots of the cream had to be thrown away and they had dried out."
