"We were at travel lodge and walked 10 mins for pre flight meal. What a treat. The staff were outstanding and our food was fabulous. We shared the chicken wings for starters with hot sauce which was given as a side in case it was too spicy for my wife which it was not. My burger was superb and my wife had the chicken wrap which she loved. The staff were constantly attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Add to this the value of drinks and meals and a very nice atmosphere and I have no hesitation in recommending the foresters ."

"I have been coming here for years, mostly during uni and now just returning for a couple of drinks. I believe there is some new staff that have started, on the whole they are nice, how we there is one woman who is extremely rude and condescending. She became abrupt and started calling me ‘darling’ in a patronising manner. I have since returned and witnessed her to laugh at me to her with her colleagues and be once again very rude. Very good pub apart from this unprofessional and immature staff member. She has dark curly hair, looks quite young and silly."

"I ordered two large fish and found them to be the same size as the normal fish from other fish and chip shops. The batter is very nice. The large chips I ordered for 2.50 were smaller than a regular portion at other chip shops. The chips tasted like they had been cooked twice and were not hot. The mushy peas were not as good as usual. I don't think I will use this restaurant again. The fish was tasty, but I found it to be overpriced for the portion size."

"Very friendly and helpful staff, Manger is very pleasant , felt so welcomed when I came in, excellent beers, I like the offers they have on drinks as well, such as Prosecco for £12.95 on a Friday, so will definitely be coming back for that. Right next to the station, very clean and tidy and most importantly it was a very comfortable and safe environment which is definitely a bonus. Will definitely be coming back very soon especially for the Sunday quiz night and for a bite to eat as well."

"Called in on a busy Saturday evening for a drink and something to eat. We went into the family bar upstairs, and it was busy. We found a table looked through the menu and decided on a few selections including the 5 small plate meals for a great price. They said at the bar it could be an hour. Which is fine as they told us and could see they were busy. After about 25 mins they bought the food which was hot, plenty of it and tasted great. The staff were constantly cleaning the tables and delivering food to guests. The toilets were clean couldn't fault them. There was plenty of screens around to watch the football on. Really couldn't fault the place. Good food, the right price and a ideal location."

"We had a bad experience a few months back and had avoided the Pear Tree so came back. My advice is go there for a drink in a nice atmosphere but don't bother with the food. The kitchen is sublet to some Korean BBQ burger brand on JustEat and that takes priority over pub orders. Our food was so bad I was embarrassed to take it back. 1 of 3 dishes was part inedible, another wasn't what we ordered and the 3rd was actually ok. We used to get a lot for our money but not now. After knowing how they run their kitchen and 2 really bad experiences with the food I'm reluctant to go back. I just wish they'd actually serve the food from the JustEast restaurant that they sublet the kitchen to as it looks awesome in the menu! Pretty disappointing as we really like the pub."

"It seems that the restaurant is short-staffed, as I only saw one person serving and cleaning tables. My nephew is gluten-free, and unfortunately, there weren't many options on the menu for him, which was really disappointing. The food was decent, but nothing exceptional, and we had to wait quite a while for it to arrive."

"I'm not sure what this place wants to be. It was playing club music but in the surrounding of a fine dine establishment. To be fair the steak was really nice but felt the other dishes lacked imagination they were all quite similar. Finally I just felt it was all over priced for what was on offer."

"Found The Bessemer as my twin brother Stephen and I were pub hopping around this part of town and what a great find. Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here, the interior is cool,a quite large bar ,a cool looking serving...bar dominates the main room, eclectic decor and furnishings, funky lighting and plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar,its just a great bar to chill out in. We were here on a Thursday night, greeted with a smile by a very pleasant member of the bar team, we got beers which were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great bar we were in. My beer was really good, a light, hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer bursting with taste, on a hot night a totally refreshing brew, it was just so good being in such a lovely bar enjoying a quality brew and served by staff who are genuinely pleased to see you in their bar,its hardly surprising that this bar is so popular. We really enjoyed our beers in here and the great vibe so much so that we ended up staying for another beer each before moving on and for a first time visit to The Bessemer we were totally impressed. The Bessemer is easy to locate along Leopold Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, Open from Midday. A wonderful bar, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area."

"We visited on a Friday afternoon and had a fantastic experience. The bar staff were friendly and welcoming. We took advantage of the cocktail offer, which was buy one, get one free. Overall, the drink prices were quite reasonable during our visit. The bar features two levels, with the upper level offering stunning views of the sea, the North Pier, and the promenade. They also have a kitchen serving classic pub fare like burgers and fish and chips. While the prices seemed reasonable, I didn’t try the food."

"The staff here is fantastic! They are all so friendly, and I love chatting with them. It's not just about taking orders; there's a real connection. The pub looks great, and I can tell they’re getting ready for the rugby, which is wonderful to see as a rugby fan. They constantly bring in new products that are refreshing and give me the chance to try new things. Whoever is in charge should be proud of how things are run and how well the team performs."

"I had a great experience at Yates while out shopping with my partner. We were looking for a place to escape the bad weather and found the perfect refuge at Yates. The customer service was excellent, starting with the lovely lady, Ange, who helped us choose the best cider from their Lilleys range. Jamie, a friendly and engaging young man, guided us on where to sit and which sports were being shown. I even saw him running around in the kitchen, yet he still went out of his way to ensure we had a great experience. The burgers were delicious too! We will definitely be returning to Yates for the warm welcome and delicious food."

"The Nag's Head is conveniently located close to Wood Green tube station. My family and I were in the area to see a band at Alexandra Palace and decided to pop to the pub for a quick bite to eat before the show. We arrived just after 5pm, ordered some drinks and was advised that we could order food at 5.30 once the chef was back from their break. We went back to the bar at that time and ordered but was advised that they were out of fish and chips, so opted for 3 burgers and a plate of nachos instead. At 6.35, one of the burgers arrived but we were not provided with cutlery, seviettes or any sauces or seasoning etc. At 6.55pm, I went to the bar to see if I could get an update for the other 3 dishes and waited 15 minutes to speak to a member of staff. Another member of our party then came up to the other end of the bar and managed to speak to a member of staff quickly. He was advised that, although we had paid for 4 meals and drinks, only 1 meal was put through to the kitchen. As we had waited almost 2 hours for food, we asked to cancel the order and were provided with a cash refund for the missing food, despite paying by card. The member of staff that we spoke to did apologise for the error and kindly offered some bottles of beer for free. We explained that we needed to leave and didn't have time for more drinks and they suggested keeping the tops on and taking them with us. Unfortunately, when we tried to leave the pub, 2 of us got through and the other 2 were stopped by the bouncers on the door. They then told the 2 of us who had gotten out, to get back in the pub and that we couldn't take the drinks with us. We explained that the bar staff gave us the drinks as an apology and the bouncers said that they wouldn't have given them to us to take with us (even though the lids were on the bottles). When we tried to protest that this was not fair, we were advised that if we made a fuss, we'd be barred from the pub. It was quite embarrassing to be spoken to like this in front of those who were going in/out of the pub, so we decided to cut our losses and leave the drinks. Even then, they insisted on patting down my brother, as they thought he had hidden a bottle in his pocket (he hadn't). In addition to the above, when I went to the women's toilets before leaving, they were dirty and only 2 stalls had toilet paper available. The sign on the door showed that they had not been cleaned since 9am that day. The staff on site did seem very busy, so perhaps they were short staffed and had been unable to clean as often as normal. I can forgive mistakes and the offer of free drinks and a refund was appreciated. It is a shame that we offered drinks to take away and then have them taken off of us though. A combination of waiting over an hour for 1 burger, not being given cutlery, dirty toilets, 3/4 of our order being missed and then the interaction with the bouncers has made it so that, even though we were not barred as threatened, we will not be heading back to this pub."

"Elysia and the team took excellent care of us on Christmas Eve. We had a party of 19, and they really went above and beyond by preparing gifts for the children and even providing us with some bottles of fizz. Every employee was fantastic, and we had a wonderful time. Thank you so much! D x"

"This restaurant is a bit difficult to review. Considering the price, I'd rate it four stars—fantastic value for money! Our meal and two large drinks only came to £25. However, I was disappointed to find that the pie was not the same as the one shown in the menu. The chips were also a letdown, as they tasted like cheap frozen ones and were still slightly icy. On the plus side, the option to choose three small plates (starters) for £10 (or five for £13) is a great way to sample different flavors. The beef was, well, beef—only a small portion had some inedible fat. The atmosphere is nice, with simple British pub vibes. It was pleasant and clean, with early 2000s music playing softly in the background and lighting on the darker side, which I personally prefer."
