"The atmosphere in the restaurant was fantastic. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and shown to our table. The lighting was dim, creating a cozy ambiance, with candles on each table. An old black-and-white film was playing on the wall behind the bar, which captivated our attention, along with unique handmade birds crafted from spiked wire suspended from the ceiling. The tables were thoughtfully arranged to allow for intimate conversations, minimizing distractions from surrounding noise. Our waiter, Daniel, provided exceptional service. When we placed our food order, he explained the Tastecard benefits we could use, giving us 2-for-1 on all tapas. We were torn between the Coconut Quinoa Curry and a lamb dish, so we sought his recommendation. He thoughtfully provided various reasons for each option and considered our previous selections to suggest what would pair best. Going above and beyond, Daniel brought us the Coconut Quinoa Curry even after we had decided on the lamb dish, saying that since we were indecisive, he thought we might enjoy trying it. This was a lovely gesture that added to our dining experience. The food was excellent and arrived promptly after we ordered. All the tapas dishes were served together, offering us a delightful variety. Throughout the evening, Daniel was very attentive, checking on us several times to ensure we were satisfied. Thanks to our Tastecard savings, we ended up ordering seven tapas dishes (including the complimentary one) and our total bill came to about £20 for both of us! We were genuinely surprised by the quality of the food for such a reasonable price. We will undoubtedly return to Sant Yago because of the remarkable service and the high quality of the food. We highly recommend dining at Sant Yago!"

"What a shame that, reading back through TA reviews, one member of staff is immediately identifiable due to consistently poor reviews. Why is this person employed in hospitality when there is nothing remotely hospitable about her? Her specialty seems to be being rude to customers and doing as little work as possible, entertaining the local drinkers and allowing her colleagues to carry her. Like others, our visit was also accompanied by eye rolling, slapping cutlery on the table, and please do not have the temerity to give negative feedback about the food! One meal out of four, the mussels, were cold. I suggested that this may be due to the soup plate they were served on, which had a wide rim on which the majority of the mussels were placed, rather than in the sauce. This clearly totally upset the person who I had taken to be the manager but who described herself as 'just bar staff '. We were told that we had been trouble since we arrived 3 over 65 's and an 80+ year old in a mobility scooter. If she thinks we 're trouble, she needs to work in London on a Saturday night!! The way in which we caused trouble was by asking for mash with the steak pie but making no fuss when this wasn 't available, asking for a spoon for the mussels, and pointing out that a meal was cold. As the place was practically empty (understandably!! we had moved the chairs ourselves to make room for the mobility scooter. We were also told that they never get complaints. Really?? Do they read their TA reviews? In June 2023 someone else made the same complaint about the mussels, so this problem could have been resolved months ago. This particular member of staff has numerous complaints about her poor attitude. I can only assume that this business owner would be happy for their business to fail, because if this were my enterprise, this staff member would be out of the door! Will we go back? No chance! There are far better places to eat, both in quality of food and most definitely in quality of service. And no, we 're not tourists as our family has lived in Tenby for 50+ years (full time, not second home owners , about as long as this 'bar staff ' has been alive. Just a reminder it 's the tourists who keep you going, and if they are not welcome, put up a sign to that effect so they can take their money elsewhere! We were actually there for a meal following our mothers funeral, so no thanks to this harridan for making this a memorable experience for all the wrong reasons. There are two nice members of staff a young man who we have encountered before and is very pleasant and offered to move the chairs, and a new part time waitress called Darcy who tried to smooth things over. However, no matter how nice they are, we won 't be coming back."

"We popped in on Chrismas Eve for a family meal. 7 adults 2 children. We had pre ordered meals from the Festive Menu. Table was ready for us arriving but set for 5 adults 4 children. Didn't think too much of it at first. Syagg I formed us thay there had been a prime with delivery so the kids desserts we had ordered werent avaible, no problem we picked a different option. But then the meals started coming out, the kids were aerved first (which is how every meal should be done! In my opinion) however one of the adults meals came out as child portions. Staff returned it to the kitchen to be replated as an adult meal. We had 6 Christmas dinners 3 had broccoli but no parsnips, the other 3 had parsnips, but no broccoli. When I asked a member or staff why I was informed that the delivery had been short and as we were the last festive meals of the day the chef had split what veg was left over our meals. Felt this was a wrong seeing as they new we were coming as all food was pre ordered but wasn't going to let it affect out evening. Just as we were finishing our meals a plate of parsnips was sent out, I said we hadn't ordered this. Memeber of staff took it back to the kitchen bit returned a few minutes later with it again and said it was made for our table! We took it to make sure they didn't go to waste, however they weren't fully cooked so seems like they'd rushed them to try rectify the shortage of veg. So whilst I appreciate that they did try to make up for the lack of veg, I would have preferred to have been Informed when we arrived and maybe have the veg brought out on smaller side plates for us to decide who wanted what. Issues aside the food was ok, staff did a great job and it was a nice relaxing atmosphere!"
