A delightful mix of crispy fried seafood, including fish, shrimp, and calamari, served with fries and tartar sauce.

"The food was very good and the service was polite and friendly. the only issue was the table we where given, as people watches being on the stairway with the constent flurry of staff walking past meant that our experience this time was not to the normal standard. Should i be seated there again i would rather not eat there. i fully understand a table of 2 should not be sat at a larger table but these two tables remove any ambience the restaurant may have. As i was not given the choice when i booked on line i will not be using that format to book again."

"very impressed when we went through the door, we were greeted by a friendly host who showed us on our table. our waitress was beautiful, eating a high standard and a beautiful ambiente in the restaurant. the waitress was really about the local area that told my daughter who had just started over the local hunting! we really have a good value for the amount we spent on 6 people. we will finally find ourselves at our next visit. great staff, good food and one to visit again, thank you!"

"We were greeted very well and shown to our table. Our order was taken efficiently, but we were given the wrong starters, the food was tasteless and very over priced. The wine was extremely over priced. Quite disappointing. I doubt we will dine at The Crown for a very long time. The food needs to be tasty and all the prices to be more realistic."

"Our first visit but it won't be our last. The food was good but the fishcakes should have been served with fries or potatoes. Serving them with only salad is not sufficient or value for money. Isabella was excellent as were all the staff. The person who greeted us at the door was rather subdued towards our arrival and did not create the ideal first impression. I do not want to overplay this and no one should be reprimanded but a smile sends a powerful message."

"The seats in the bar area need to be cleaned. The restaurant was empty apart from two tables with children on them and we were seated in between. One of the children was young and whinged all through the meal! (Not his fault, as he was probably tired and needing his bed). It might be a good idea not to place a couple wanting a nice meal and a chat next to families, when there are plenty of other available tables. The mushroom soup was delicious, but my sausages had been microwaved and were too well done. The staff were very friendly and attentive."

"We booked for midday and were the only people in the restaurant. We were given the wrong menus to start with. The first bottle of wine we ordered they didn’t have so we chose another bottle which we had to wait minutes for as the manager was trying to locate it in the cellar. The starters were fine. There were of us and of the mains were brought out while one was still eating his starter and all the used starter plates were on the table. I had to instruct the waiter to put the plates down on the next table while he removed our starter plates so he could then give us our mains. We were asked, after we finished our main course if we wanted to see the desert menu. We declined but ordered a glass of wine, a coffee and a cocktail. After minutes wait we cancelled the drinks order as we had a train to catch. The last time we went there, about a year ago the service and lack of wine they didn’t have different bottles listed on their wine menu was just as bad. I would not go there to eat again"

The garden is quite large with some lovely large willow trees lots of space ."

"Came for Saturday lunch to try out as we had been to the Dukes head down the road. We tried sitting outside but the seats were so low and not very comfortable so went inside to eat instead. Waiters aftershave a bit over powering but staff very good. Both my partner had a hankering for fish and chips. Not quite as good as the Dukes head but still very nice. Fish did not seem as plump but the batter was lovely and crispy."

"twee grandios. Love Love Love Love The Decor This Place! its very cozy and cozy and quiet and very land-fied. the menu is very diverse. in person I would recompense the churros, which is this sweet, fried donut stick that they dip in chocolate sauce. would love it if the chocolate sauce was thicker and not a liquid Runny slope. a real thick milk chocolate sauce would go so well with it and help to cut through a few of the fat of churros. the beverage selection must be more diverse. the personal is beautiful, chatting and funny."

"recently visited on a week night for a family dinner. overall, eating was ok (with taking the Aubergine curry). the service was awfully slow and the supervisor/manager had a real job and was not friendly at all. after a first greeting. we were shown on our table and after a certain waiting ordered our drinks with the superior. one of our parties (old ordered a non-alcoholic apple wine, only to be challenged for id. when we explained that as a child with an adult to eat and order a meal that allowed the law that the year old even have an alcoholic apple wine, and that was only one, he claimed we were wrong and that the spatial license does not allow. we wanted to avoid a argument that we accepted, but when leaving we staged the spatial license at the entrance and noticed that no such condition was bound to the license. it is in order when it comes to business policy (maybe this is the case) but the employee member has been quite lied and created an unnecessary embarrassing situation for all of us. the same person then presented a terrible attitude that makes us feel the most unhappy for the rest of the evening. the drinks that were ordered took the minutes to arrive, and the co-worker who brought them to us began to serve other tables after we had brought only half the drinks we ordered and left the rest on the bar. later in the evening we ordered a bottle of wine that was delivered to us unopened, and it took a few minutes for someone else to come and open it for us (sadly it was not a screw bottle of this place was recommended by two family members who participated in this meal, and they were very disappointed about how the dings turned out (as we were all). to finish everything after we tried, but not to tie all the workers to get the bill, we just had to pay at the cash while our tellers were sitting on the table unclear. obviously the superior had no appreciation for it, as he offered the Dessert menu, as we were about to go and had already paid the bill. it showed a complete ignorance of what was going on in his own restaurant. In summary, the personal can do with some retraining ladders/managers that are very much potential in the service front but difficult to do. would not recommend."

"We visited today and glad we had booked! We received a very warm greeting at the door and were shown to a good sized table with large comfortable chairs. Even though the beamed ceilings are low it did not feel claustrophobic. The decor is tasteful, and everywhere was clean and neat. The tables are not too close to each other and positioned so that it didn’t feel like a canteen. We were greeted warmly by a lady who took our drinks order. These arrived swiftly. Our food order was taken promptly and we were impressed that she checked for any allergies first. We went for the roast with a trio of meats. There were chicken, pork and beef. Each of these were cooked to absolute perfection. Homemade Yorkshires was a welcome change compared to most pubs. Large, crisp and light. The crackling, potatoes, stuffing, and roasted veg were all delicious. They were cooked to perfection and so well seasoned that nothing needed salt or pepper adding. We ordered the trio of veg and potatoes to share, because they sounded so delicious (and they were) but we probably didn’t need to. The BEST Dauphinoise we’ve ever had! Bottomless gravy was another welcome change. Our very friendly, efficient and helpful waitress Aimee checked back on us swiftly and then regularly. Everything was just perfect with the main course, and despite feeling full we forced down the trio of desserts to share, and the too tempting Baileys Chocolate Martini! The ambience was perfect too. No loud music or chairs scraping, due to carpets. All of the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there and our waitress Aimee is a credit to the business. (We were the party with the nippy dog sorry). The plate of treats for our dog was a lovely touch too. We have already booked for the very reasonably priced Christmas meal. If it’s this good on a busy day then we are very confident for our next visit. Highly recommended."

"I met up with a friend for a catch-up at Browns in Victoria Cardinal Place on Saturday. The food and service were excellent. The restaurant was quiet and not too busy. We enjoyed a pleasant few hours chatting and eating. I have been to this restaurant many times before and will definitely be returning."

"I booked the 3-course set menu for three people using The Fork for a very special occasion and was very disappointed with service. While I was paying the waiter (a young boy with long hair) refused to include our discount on the set menu, making us loose around fifteen euros. He said that the restaurant did not have any promotion related to The Fork even after I proved to him that I have a booking code and showed him my booking confirmation. I was very humiliated and sad. Never again. If someone else is using the discount, be aware they might not accept it."

"20. juni 2014 inner sunshine the sun in london there are some places that serve only as magnets for their attention. the orange tree in totteridge does this to me. I mean, what a Florida girl living in london does not make a trip to a gastropub called the orange tree? the decor and ambiente is comfortable and cheerful. I wanted to eat especially in the orange tree because I love the arkley and the freemason arms. they are all owned by the same company. the menu on all three is practically the same. they probably remember the freemaurer arms by hampstead pub crawl hot beer gardens post, which I wrote in the early year. mr. sunny and I arrived in the orange tree on Tuesday a few weeks on the day. the weather was beautiful. we've been on prosecco and beer. the gastropub is located at a distance from the road. this makes it particularly pleasant and fun when it sunshine. last Saturday the ambiente was very different. it's a good thing that we arrived in a taxi with my sunny in place. the parking space wa"

"Had a wonderful meal with my husband, enjoying all three courses which were comfortably timed between. All dishes ordered were delicious, and drinks were made quickly. Special thanks to our server Dominic who was very attentive and friendly, to the extent of challenging bar staff/ management for having a policy of not making classic cocktails either off menu or allowing substitution of ingredients if a brand of liquor/ flavouring isn’t available. Hope there’ll be some flexibility in the mixology in future as several drinks on the menu were unavailable, but we’ll definitely be back again"

"Well, all I can say is that I was so disappointed in the whole experience of our Christmas lunch today. We had a booking for 12.15pm.. we arrived on time, drink were ordered and then sadly it went down hill. Our food did not arrive until 1.50pm! The soup was cold (even the butter block was still whole in the bottom of the bowl), the Turkey was good. However the vegetables were so hard, my elderly mum had trouble cutting them so she left them! My 12 ye old daughter ordered the pizza to which she was given half … which seems very odd and ridiculous after a 2 hr wait! Puddings were lovely, but we didn’t wait for the coffees etc Our waitress was lovely but didn’t communicate either with us or her manage to what was going on. Tables around us were complaining about the waiting too. It was almost like they had completely overbooked and over stretched themselves. We (a booking of 5) did complain and we got all our drink deducted off the bill, only to be informed that the chef had had a medical emergency and had been take to hospital! Obviously, had this been communicated to all the waiting customers the outcome may have been very different and we would have had an understanding and empathy- but this wasn’t! Overall, I was so disappointed not only on the service, but how it left my parents feeling as Christmas dinner was their treat, in a restaurant they use regularly as I have travelled up from Dorset. I would not be able to recommend this restaurant or the festive menu at £32.95 per head. But I wish the staff member a speedy recovery."

"We had a great waiter (Jamie I think), the atmosphere was lovely, he was really attentive and took great care of us. I asked for the disabled toilet key which was provided straight away. One piece of feedback I would give, is that there is no mirror in the disabled toilet, meaning when I shut the door I was hit by the regular toilet door opening because I had to go to the women’s after. If the disabled toilet door opened from the other side then this wouldn’t be an issue either. Apart from that, the food was lovely, nice big scallops, great roast portions and we loved the mini dessert and cocktail option. We had a lovely time and have already recommended to friends."
