Eric Chavot's restaurant in Mayfair is a classy brasserie, but I couldn't help but think that with its relatively simple menu, it wouldn't dare to aspire to a Michelin star in Paris. However, here in London, where French cuisine like this isn't as common, it is truly exceptional! The sourdough bread and butter were heavenly, and for my starter, I chose the scallop ceviche, which was beautifully presented and had a perfect balance of flavors.
